Have been coming here for the last 15 years or so and always enjoy my stay. Stayed for over a week in different accommodations starting with the ‘Dorado room,’ and also in the upstairs ‘Black Marlin’ which is a self catering unit/flat with all the necessary utensils as well as a corner bath. The views are superb and food also great and all staff very friendly. Overall I enjoyed my stay!

Only suggestion to Blue Sky Mining is to limit the load shedding and put in solar or a generator.

It is checked that guests behave themselves. Those who do not behave themselves are turned away in a very professional manner. It puts your heart at ease knowing that your stay is safe. I like the fact that they go green and look at the "environment". You make friends with all the different guests and their staff are friendly and helpful. The place is nice clean and safe. Really enjoyed it there.

From when we arrived, until we left it felt like home away from home. We didn't want to leave. We loved the deck chairs overlooking the ocean. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The room was well maintained and the bed slept like a dream. Very quiet and peaceful. We will definitely return over and over. Best weekend away we've had in years. Plenty of shops, restaurants and beaches within walking distance from Blue Sky. Thank you Blue Sky for making our sky blue.

My stay was alright, but I was happy with sharing a bathroom and that you're responsible for cleaning your room daily. The accommodation was alright, but they did not even provide us with water.

We were washed out at our campsite in the epic storm that hit KZN in April. After much searching we were welcomed by Blue Sky Mining Backpackers with warmth and a helpful attitude like we have not seen before. The owner himself and his staff spent hours helping us with a flat car battery, a dinner in front of a log fire with such large portions I could not finish it. The next morning we sat at poolside, overlooking the ocean with a cup of coffee and marvelled at our luck in finding this lovely place. Highly recommended.

It was our second time at Blue Sky Mining Backpackers & Lodge. The first time for three days, this time a bit longer. This is our hidden gem and will always return.
It's centrally located and can visit any place from there. Everything is close. The accommodation was clean and neat and the service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and made us feel like old friends. The restaurant's food was delicious and affordable and I can really recommend this place. It was great and I'd recommend it to all my friends and family. Definitely worth the money. Would stay there again without a doubt!

Other than the kitchen and bedding, our stay was awesome. A bit disappointing that you can't take your wine in because of their cash bar and that we weren't allowed to play music but very friendly staff and beautiful view and grounds. We enjoyed the fire every night and Zama was very sweet. Thanks again for an awesome stay. You guys rocked.

The evening we arrived, we were very kindly welcomed and shown around. The atmosphere of the place immediately made me feel welcome so I immediately booked an extra night. The view over the sea is breathtaking. The rooms are very neat and clean. I love the restaurant and pub that is on the premises where you can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening while looking out at the sea and order some of their delicious food. Their bunny chows are some of the best I have ever tasted and my husband and I have eaten their chicken, bean, beef, fish and mutton bunnies and they are all delicious! The staff at Blue Sky Mining are very helpful and friendly (it feels like old friends when you talk to them). I was sad to say goodbye, but will definitely go back there again and I have already told all my colleagues, family and friends about the beautiful place!

Die kos is heerlik en die staff baie behulpsaam en vriendelik. Ons het in die Black Marlin Lodge gebly en daai uitsig oor die see as jy vroeg wakker word en die son sien opkom oor die see terwyl jy nog in die bed lê is soos iets uit 'n storie uit. Dit was regtig fantasties en ek kan nie wag om terug te gaan nie, terwyl ons daar was het ek gekyk na ander plekke en niks kan ons bied wat Blue Sky Mining Backpackers & Lodge ons nie kon bied nie.
We had a great time staying here with the most beautiful sea view. It was good value for money. The restaurant made breakfast every morning comfortable. We will definitely find ourselves at home here again.

The restaurant serves very good, reasonable food. Well prepared and staff are friendly, helpful and well trained. We had delicious dinner and breakfast. The accommodation has something for everyone. Multibed rooms and also twin and double rooms. There are several seating/patio areas for different tastes. Walking distance to the beach. The stands to Blue Maining are narrow and steep, but don't be alarmed. It was great.

Keven and team gave my family a warm welcome, checked in professionally and provided sumptuous meals. We really enjoyed the wood night fire at pool area and the cycling in the neighbourhood. While everything was 100%, we were unlucky not to have breakfast ready which was ordered the previous day. Warner Beach is a must go again for a city dweller like myself, and no any other place will deserve my accommodation needs than Blue Sky!
At least there could be a kettle in the room, lunch and dinner cost us more than accommodation. Have to buy your coffee, a bit overpriced and also no TV in room.

We really enjoyed our stay and will most definitely be back. There are various types of accommodation options and if your are using it for a base to sleep at and travel around, you really don't need a room with a view, because all you have to do is step out of your room and you have the most beautiful sea views and a viewing deck that you can capture the most stunning sunrises over the ocean. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, the food at the onsite Bar/Restaurant was delicious and good value for money.

I really liked the place - the security is so tight and most of all they are not so strict in terms of check-in times, it was heaven to visit.

Unfortunately I booked the tent and didn't expect the miserable weather. The tent was under water and immediately cleaned. After that I found that the bed and bedding was damp. After my second request for dry linen, which wasn't available, management surprised me with a lovely, warm en-suite ruim! After two cups of delicious coffee which was in my hot water bottle, I had a good night's rest. Thank you very much for your kindness in the miserable weather!
The available wines were a disappointment. Since you're only allowed to buy wine there they should offer better wine to clients. There were only cheap wines and I wanted to drink something better.

Big function one night was a huge disappointment. Lots of people and lots of noise until late at night. Not good enough provision for smokers during rain showers and cold. Outdoor dish washing area under our window was very disturbing until very late in the evenings.
Ideal for a quick weekend or weekly getaway. There are many amenities on the grounds and it is safe! It is close to a big beach. To wake up and see the ocean from the porch everyday is good for the soul. The price is a bargain in our current financial situation, if you take into consideration how close you are to the beach. Definitely a winner!
Will always make my home here when I find myself in Amanzimtoti from now on. It is very clean and tidy. Very good value for money. The staff is very friendly and nimble and ready to lend a hand when you need it. The surrounding nature is beautiful and the view of the sea breathtaking.

The staff - from the cleaners right through to the manager are absolutely fantastic. Friendly, helpful and they go the extra mile to help. Great White Lodge where we stayed is wonderful. All the amenities you need are there. The restaurant's food is indescribably delicious and the chefs know just how to make the food not taste "everyday". The pools are beautifully clean and the plants and trees are stunningly beautiful. Rather, it feels like you are vacationing on an island! No other place in Warner Beach/Winkelspruit will we stay, but definitely every time at Blue Sky Mining Backpackers & Lodge.

It's a beautiful place to stay. Very good food. Lovely pools to swim in. But a bit far from the sea to walk. But if you are fit and don't mind a very steep walk you will be able to walk to the sea. Not to far from places to visit like Crock World, Splash and Ushaka Marine World.
Beautiful garden and tidy bathrooms, the room is cleaned every day, there was always someone at reception (until 22:00) to help us and there is more than enough safe parking on the premises. Clients get their own remotes for the gate and the gate is locked every night at 22:00.

Not bad, but not ideal for a family. It's backpackers, so you have to share a bathroom with 4 other rooms.

Overall the place was value for money. You get what you pay for. Unfortunately the staff treat you like children regarding the no drinks policy. If you are having a braai at the kitchen you cannot use your own bottle of wine. Many other B&B's with a licence do allow you to bring your own drinks. This policy will cost them business.
It was a nice hostel with a nice view. Sadly we had to pay for the towels because they were too dirty, but the bedroom was leaking and we didn't do anything with it. Was not pleased about that!

The service was good and we will stay there again. We have no complaints. We stayed in a tent camp: it was clean and tidy. My car was behind closed gates and we had no problems. Would only recommend this place to people who like to camp.

We arrived late at the Blue Sky Backpackers Lodge, after a 6 hour drive from JHB, we welcomed to the lodge with friendly and professional down to earth people that made me and the two girls travelling with me feel comfortable, and at home while away from home. The room was cosy, clean, affordable and just right for our needs for the one nights stay. The girls enjoyed the pool, good food made with love and the fun loving attitude of the owners.

Maybe just make a plan for a braai area for Great White, otherwise you have to carry all your things down to the pool and that's not always convenient... you want to braai at your own place... but other than that I have and my husband enjoys it terribly! We had a beautiful view and you could hear the waves breaking. Stunning! You will surely see us again. One feels so at home and you are absolutely in your comfort zone. Thank you very much! It's a cute little place in Warner Beach - but wouldn't recommend for tranquility. It remains a backpacking place to stay (Lots of young people who want to visit). There were also 3 days where they were busy with renovations that can disturb one's afternoon sleep... I would like to give their kitchen staff an A+ for the wonderful breakfast they made for us every morning. Food was delicious! Thank you very much.

The place was perfect for my grandchildren. They loved playing in the pool and the beach was walking distance. Perfect place if you just want to relax.
