Our host, Tersia, was the best. We were kindly received and she was concerned about our well-being all week. I would definitely recommend Blue Whale and will visit again. It's very peaceful and quiet and if you want to rest Blue Whale is the perfect place.

We spent the night there for the first time. The place is beautiful and the service is great. The place has the most beautiful view. We will definitely stay there again. It has the full DStv Explorer package, all the channels, it was great.

There is no fresh water for guests and you have to tap everything in the bathroom.
It felt like everything was dirty to us - the grills and tongs were filthy to say the least (we didn't try grilling), the microwave was dirty inside, the fridge was dirty inside, there were ants in it the kitchen, cobwebs everywhere. The finish was old, WiFi very frustrating. The place is overpriced compared to at least 4 other places we booked too.
Tonie and Tersa are very friendly and hospitable. Really value for money. Our room had a beautiful mural that made you feel like you were on the stand. Blue Whale's owners are very helpful with advice on local travel, food. Clean, neat place to stay. Best breakfast eaten just diagonally across the road from Blue Whale. Shops walking distance from Blue Whale. Nice walk in cool sea air from their house to SANParks' Agulhas lighthouse. Tersia's art studio paintings are beautiful. Thank you very much. It was my first time in Struisbaai. Pleasantly surprised by the friendly people in community. Shops and dining/visiting places. Would definitely go again and enjoyed the nearby town of L'Ahulhas just as much. Also went to visit the lighthouse and museum and had a good time at the campsite.
It was a pleasant surprise that a small dining table, chairs, plates and cutlery for two as well as a microwave oven were added to the standard fridge and coffee supplies.

The place was very small. They could have at least added some accessories such as proper plates and not paper plates and enough glasses. I expected much more. They should consider getting a TV as said on the add but there was no TV, nor microwave or a mini fridge.
