Blue Whale Chalet 1 offers a peaceful setting with breathtaking ocean views. There is a wooden walkway with stairs leading down to the ocean. The area is surrounded by lush vegetation and lots of paths to explore. While the weather limited our use of the patio, the interior is spacious, featuring high-quality bedding, a large bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen. However, the basic furnishings and limited table space (only table space is the kitchen nook) may be inconvenient for indoor activities such as board games, etc. The lack of handrails on steps to the bathroom and patio could be an issue for those with mobility concerns. Additionally, the chalet is not serviced, which is worth considering for longer stays. The sloping road and angled turn into the carport may present a challenge for people driving a manual car, while other chalets offer easier, level parking. Overall, an ideal place to stay in good weather.

The tiles in the units are exceptionally slippery when wet. During a few rainy days the steps at the entrance and those leading to the stoep became wet and we had two slips-and-falls. Safety warnings and non-slip strips should be installed.

The houses overlooking the sea are absolutely wonderful. You sit on the porch and stare out over the sea and see how the waves break against the cliffs of the Garden Route. Peaceful, quiet and peaceful. Most activities are also within an hour or so's drive.

Beautiful! The sea, the mountains, a lovely fire made on the balcony and just relaxing. The power was off from 18:00 until just before 11 and again from 02:00 to 04:00 due to loadshedding, but the fire made up for it. The lady who received us was helpful, friendly and informed and discussed the loadshedding schedule with us, which gave us a chance to plan for it.
Will definitely enjoy your hospitality again. Truly a place to find tranquillity for your soul and the views of the bay are delightful, whales and dolphins play in front of you. Units are top-notch and nicely appointed.

Very neat unit. The sea view from the units are amazing. Was a bit remote for teenagers that want to take part in young activities.
It is a stunning place to stay. But not child friendly/safe the beach is hard to get to with no clear indication to where the steps are to follow. Find the steps very steep and at some places broken and a safety risk to go down with. Housekeeping was excellent it's a nice stay over place but not more than 2 days.

The units are very comfortably furnished. However, the cleaners do not get around to cleaning properly every day, washing dishes and bringing toilet paper. There is a stretch of dirt road that leads to the complex, so people who are not used to driving on dirt roads are advised to drive very slowly and carefully.

Our stay was very nice. We only stayed one night, but everything was spotlessly clean, even the floors didn't make you dirty. The beds were freshly made and very very neatly done. The DStv worked perfectly. Everything you could need for a guest house was provided and the rooms are nice and spacious. The self-catering section was pleasantly large and the stoep and braai facilities wonderful. We didn't see the walk down section to the beach so I'm not sure about that. We also didn't meet the admin ladies, we got there too late, but all the instructions were given to us perfectly and we had no problems going in and out with the electric gate, and everything worked perfectly . Their maintenance and upkeep is very very good, and I would recommend the place to any family that wants to relax. It was also quiet in the area and clean. Thank you for your nice place, we will use you again when we can!
Relatively well-priced, and safe to stay. Accommodation is clean and neat. Only down-side is accessibility to a beach, although a very nice view. Gravel road to the lodge can be a pain when it rains. DSTV channels listed were not all available for viewing.
The view is breathtaking, but the accommodation is disappointing. The mattresses of the beds are of very poor quality. We stayed 4 nights and not once did they come to clean or change towels. Two weekends before I also stayed in a self-catering unit in the town. Much cleaner, neater and more modern and much cheaper. In my opinion, you do not get value for your money at all at Blue Whale Resort. Never again.
Had a wonderful stay. Everything needed is there. I was also able to bake bread rolls in the oven and the view was fantastic. The catwalk down to the beach plus point. Fynbos with many birds can also be seen. I will definitely stay there again. Owner also came to say hello and ask if everything is okay.

Nice and spacious. Chairs and sofas in living room are old and old fashioned. Everything you need in the kitchen. Grills at outdoor barbecues are very busy and unusable. Towels slightly worn and old. Path and steps to beach are a winner - well maintained. Main entrance's security gate was out of order for three weekdays. Will go back again but then I will make sure everything is taken care of above.

The unit we booked was not available to us when we arrived. This meant that we had to temporarily move into another unit and could only get the unit we had booked the next day (Monday). However, the management compensated us for the inconvenience and we had a great time. We will definitely recommend the resort and visit there ourselves again if the opportunity arises.
The view from the Chalets is fantastic! All problem we encountered was that the main bedroom's bed is hopelessly too small for tall and tall people!
