The lady who owns the place does not follow up with her guests to hear how things are going and if we need anything despite the fact that we had almost no electricity and hardly any water. No communication in advance to inform us that there are power problems there or water problems, not even upon arrival there.
We slept over on the way to the wild coast. The rooms are clean and tidy. The whole atmosphere is comfortable. Just felt at home. So much so that we booked there again on the way back.

Unfortunately there were no teaspoons and the fridge was off when we got there. Needed a cold fridge after a long journey with perishable food.

We were received kindly and immediately felt at home. The owners were very accommodating with additional requests. Freezer made available for meat and my boy was able to zip around the whole property on his bike. The room itself was very neat and well furnished. Slept very comfortably and rested well. Accommodation is also very close to all restaurants. Good value for money. Would highly recommend for people wanting to sleep over between Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.
Apartment at home with large bathroom but self-catering facilities are limited. Although there is internet access by means of WiFi, the correct password could not be provided.

We were on our way to East London with our 3 dog-children. We spent the night at Aliwal North. Dries and Sera, the owners, received us kindly. The place is safe, clean and looks beautiful. Our dogs could run around a bit and had fun playing with Buks (Dries' dog-child). Dries allowed me to use some of his braai facilities and wood and while we were braaiing we just had a nice chat. The room and bathroom are large and clean and the decor beautiful. I would definitely recommend them and will definitely stay there again in the future.

Beautiful, comfortable homes. Very clean, tidy and homely with everything you need to sleep well. Very hospitable. Our almost 2-year-old boy had fun playing with Buksie in the beautiful, safe garden and slept like a rock.

I booked and paid for a room in a guest house with 2 single beds and when I got there I was placed in a wooden house, unexpectedly. It is not as good as a guest house because the toilet is not really private. And the front door of the wooden house was so stuck that we didn't. Couldn't get it open from the inside. 07:00 Sunday morning I had to call the owner to come and open it from the outside after a long struggle. Other than that, the beds were great to sleep on, so comfortable. The linen and room were very clean and tidy. The private little garden and garden chairs were also very welcome. The hostess was very friendly and kind.

We arrived in the late afternoon and despite a bit of frustration when the gate wasn't opened on our arrival, it was followed by a warm welcome when the owner and his spouse first noticed we had arrived. The room is adequately equipped and was very clean. All I missed was information that is made available either directly by the owners or by way of brochures to help guests with good places to eat in town. The place we were recommended to unfortunately only started receiving guests at seven o'clock and we were tired from driving and wanted to eat upon our arrival. About six in the afternoon. We then turned to a takeaway alternative.
