Accommodation comprises 24 units, suited to accommodate up to 156 guests. Each campsite can make use of the communal kitchen and ablution facilities. There are a few campsites with their own ablution facilities and kitchens. There are 6 communal caravan sites with communal ablutions, as well as 10 executive caravan sites and 2 secluded caravan sites, each with private ablutions. Each site has its own electricity supply, braai area, and scullery. A maximum of 6 people is permitted per site, with a minimum of 2 required per booking. There are 6 campsites available which are suited to accommodate 8 guests.
Campsite 19 and 20 are next to each other which makes it ideal for large families and it features its own ablution facilities and a communal kitchen. Campsite 21 and 22 are separate from each other and it also has its own ablution facilities and guests can make use of the communal kitchen. Campsite 23 and 24 both have their own ablutions fitted with a shower and their own kitchenette. Each campsite has its own braai area.
On-site facilities include game drives, guided walks, bird watching, and swimming.
Nearby activities/attractions include a variety of different Reserves where you can go and spend the day.

10 guests' feedbackHuge sites, private, impala and nyala are your neighbours. Private ablution is great. Family of 4 to one toilet/shower is okay, if you are sharing with multiple families or big groups you will need to time your ablutions appropriately. The map of the reserve is useless and is of no resemblance to the actual roads, apparently, they working on it. We got hopelessly lost and eventually made our way back using Google Maps, at least cell coverage is good. Roads are doable in a normal car, good ground clearance would be an advantage. We had to turn back a few times due to thick sand or huge ruts and nearly got stuck a few times particularly the road down to the flood plains where my car bottomed out continuously. Also had to move the odd tree or branch knocked by elephants. Didn't see any game except buck. Free WiFi in camp was an unexpected bonus. Restaurant food is very average and only 2 options available. Place was quiet and peaceful. Barely saw any other guests.
Bonamanzi was a beautiful reserve, it felt very safe and the facilities and campsite themselves were very clean and the private ablutions were brilliant.
It's a beautiful place but not value for money. We stayed at the communal bathroom (not a private ablution) and it cost us R615 per night for a campsite. The ladies bathroom was locked and we had to share with the men until they brought another key. There is no signal and the WiFi only works sometimes, so you have to drive far to get to the office.
Very large pitches. Nyala and roe deer make regular visits to the camp. The Hlangana communal camp is suitable for family gatherings. To make things easier, a 4x4 is recommended, especially if it has been raining. Mostly only seen Nyala and impalas and zebras. Did find leopard tracks. The road map given by the place is useless and does not correspond to reality. You can only find your campsite with it, but not meaningfully use it to drive around. No markers on the road. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly, but bathroom maintenance needs attention. Soap dishes in shower were broken and rusted. Restaurant food was excellent.
Stayed without water during complete stay. Only had water on arrival for 1 hour. Power tripped after load shedding due to faulty electrical systems that need a lot of maintenance. No power for rest of stay.
Very nice and private and ablutions were neat and clean.
Great value for money.
What a beautiful reserve with exactly what we were looking for! Most beautiful trees! Nice self-driving routes! Nice level pitches with braai places and light and water at each pitch. We even had our own private bathroom with washing up facilities! You can walk and there is a restaurant also for the lazy cooks.
Pleasant stay. I just didn't see many game though.
We stayed in a caravan park with our own ablution block very clean and tidy. Goats graze around you during the day.
