The place was nice and clean, good quality linen and the kitchen has everything you need. The only bathroom is en-suite, but it is very neat and clean. The place does not have an indoor living area, but it is still very comfortable and convenient under the covered lapa area which is right outside the door. We had a great stay and would recommend the place anytime.

The bed's mattress was very uncomfortable, the bathroom is not the most comfortable either. Attention should be paid to the little things that can make a traveler's stay more comfortable.
Bonsai is definitely one of the best ever. The host's handiwork is excellent and his wife's eye for detail in the rooms is exceptional. One just wants to sit and chat in the special visit, and braai area. The hosts were like friends when we left.

The getaway was just what we needed. Due to the restrictions there were still many places closed, but Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, St Francis and Port Elizabeth are just around the corner and there is still a lot to see and do. Their service is fantastic and they don't hesitate to help with anything. We spent our few days resting, grilling and enjoying the beautiful nature around us. I would recommend them to anyone.

Bonsai was not our first choice for an overnight stay in the Gamtoos Valley, but were we surprised!? It was by far the best and cleanest and well-maintained guesthouse we have ever stayed at. High quality beds. Nice barbecue and patio and neat well-kept garden. The host and hostess very helpful. The photos on the website do not describe the place as you experience it first hand - so I can really recommend Bonsai to any family.
The unit was very neat and beautifully furnished with everything we could think of to make our stay comfortable. The garden and trees created so much tranquility and the perfect stop if you want to spend the day in the Baviaanskloof, which is a piece of paradise on earth.
We have suggested to the owner to put awnings in her visiting area which can close guests when the wind is blowing.

We were on a drought relief weekend to raise funds for farmers who are suffering from the drought. We couldn't have asked for a better place to rest.
