It was lovely, and we had a great time.
We had a lovely stay at Bos Hotel. This was not our first visit nor will it be our last. We had a problem with the gas box, but after I let the host know, he fixed the problem within minutes. We would definitely recommend Bos Hotel to anyone.
What a lovely peaceful weekend. The unit has everything needed and was clean and tidy. The reserve and facilities are beautiful and well maintained.
Our family was warmly welcomed upon our arrival at the main gate. The unit was very neat and clean braai area was neat. The gas geyser and fridge are in good working condition and we had no problems. The restaurant staff provided very good service even though they were busy with a function at the reception hall. The sports grounds and pools were very clean and very well looked after. The Cronje family will definitely come again to Bos Hotel to enjoy a nice, peaceful break away.
Lovely. Unit 21 outside bathroom needs some TLC and if there were 1 plug inside that would be nice.
Check-in was easy and simple. The accommodation is beautiful, and my family and I enjoyed every moment of it. It was the perfect way to start the new year. The unit had everything we needed. It could have been better cleaned, especially with all the spiders, but since we are a simple family that loves the outdoors, it was a perfect place to stay. Just to mention, it would have been nice if it was mentioned that there are no plugs, so even though we took our own solar lights because our baby does not like the dark, we couldn't charge them in efforts not to run out of light during the night. But other than that, everything was beautiful and perfect. The accommodation will definitely be seeing me and my family again.
It was very nice, but no shop or restaurant.
Unfortunately, we arrived there on Saturday without hot water. It wasn't restored until Sunday afternoon.
Stay was pleasant. Will recommend.
Had a great weekend at Bos Hotel. The only two things we had a problem with were the lights running out very fast and having only one bathroom.
Our family broke away for the long weekend. Everything was there that we needed. The restaurant at the main complex just didn't have everything we ordered and the store's stock was limited and not always open.
Very clean, neat and well equipped. We were so impressed with the unit, we will definitely be going again. The children enjoyed it so much to be in the bush and to be free. They didn't want to leave. Thank you.
Bos Hotel should at least have some means of transportation to the pools and playgrounds, upgrade solar systems because the lights go off before time, and also come up with a plan for charging points. Otherwise, the stay was great.
Location is beautiful, none of previous comments from 2021 have received attention yet. Accommodation not clean at all, bedding downstairs was dirty and very old and mud baboon tracks still on walls. No notice board or anything about gas usage or cell phone chargers. Fridge leaked all weekend, shower outside bathroom soaking wet. Chairs outside by the fire are done and so uncomfortable. Light above the fire doesn't work either. Suggest that you notify people in advance that there is no wood available on site, had to drive all the way back. The restaurant's hours are also not correct, they said it was open on Sunday mornings, looked around for a long time but it was closed and we had to go somewhere else for breakfast.
Refrigerator did not work. Batteries had to be replaced every night.
The number given was incorrect for the contact person and had one digit too many. Instructions were to notify Armand 10 - 15 minutes prior to arrival and someone would meet you at the gate. We were outside for close to 45 minutes, eventually finding that the keys had been left at security. The contact person did not answer his phone or communicate with us at all. One door in the unit didn't open at all, the fridge doesn't work properly and the unit wasn't very clean. No information brochure, no map and no communication at all from the host!
Information sheet required to say what you need to bring with you is recommended. E.g. a gas lamp and candles, the solar power is not sufficient, especially in cloudy weather. The place needs quite a bit of attention.
The house fits in with the peaceful surroundings. Everything is neat. All amenities you could need are there. Very comfortable and beautiful. Beautiful view. One can only be calm and breathe. It's actually a luxury chalet.
No power points to charge phones.
Large estate with neat chalets. Nice clean pools. 18 hole putt-putt course. Large children's play area. Clean tennis courts. Restaurant on premises. Guards. Beautiful nature and river. Hiking trails. Lots of baboons in estate.
I would like to come back for a weekend.
I will like to call back again. That's a great place for peace of mind especially with the loved ones.
The place is small, but it has everything, and it was perfect for the 1 night we had to stay before a race at the dam. The children had fun playing and swimming.
It is a place with a lot of potential to make it a super place to stay. Enough details need to be upgraded. If the price was less, it would have been more acceptable.
The children had a great time. The solar panels are very small with the result that only a mobile phone could be charged. It's not conveniently laid out at all as far as the kitchen is concerned and I won't go there again for the price we paid, it's not worth it.
However, the Boshotel unit we stayed in was extremely disappointing. The Forest Hotel needs an upgrade. The bathroom and entire unit's tiles are very old and do not meet the standards for letting to holidaymakers. The linen on the beds and towels are of poor quality and have seen better days. There are also no extra blankets. Fortunately, we took our own. The unit also needs a thorough cleaning. . The garden chairs are very old and weathered and could at least do with a coat of paint. The extra bathroom outside shower is very small and inconvenient. The water from the shower is either too hot or too cold and can be difficult to regulate. The stay was extremely disappointing!
The Bos Hotel was dirty and untidy. The drain is blocked and runs out in front of the front door. The owner only reads messages but there is no feedback. No usb points to charge phones. Outside toilet's light does not work. Door by the stoep's handle is broken. Cutlery and pots were not clean. Bathroom mats very dirty. The Bos Hotel could definitely do with a decent clean and a lot of repairs. Not worth the money.
He never bothered to meet us or make sure we were home. I would certainly have complained about the thin and insufficient bedding for the winter. There is no warning in the unit that baboons are a problem. Although the kitchen door closes with a Yale lock, the upper sliding door could not close and was loose in its frame. We only slept three nights out of the five prepaid nights, when the baboons broke in and destroyed about R600 worth of groceries. Given the owner's inhospitality and indifference, I didn't complain, but instead used the time to get home. A week later, he is still keeping a low profile: no apology, no explanation. Really poor, especially considering that the tourism sector has suffered badly under Covid conditions.
Was a battle to get a maintenance team and charging points for cell phones, but the stay was amazing, thank you.
Great trails to walk, a stunning river with clear water, great playground and pool for the grandchildren. And wildlife on your doorstep.
Liked everything about our holiday. Kids enjoyed it a lot.
The accommodation was acceptable for the one night's sleepover. Would not be able to recommend it for a longer period though. It happened to be a very cold evening and if we hadn't watched the weather forecast, we would have experienced a bitterly cold evening. No provision has been made for cold evenings with the availability of extra blankets. We were three adults and would have appreciated better preparation in terms of the 12 V charging facility for cell phones. If we had an emergency situation, we were in trouble. There was no hot water. We could boil water for coffee, but if we were more than 3 the size of the kettle would have been a problem. The location of the accommodation is in a beautiful reserve and had it been in the summer we would definitely have used the swimming facilities, although it is quite a distance from the accommodation. The accommodation has incredible potential and just a little TLC in terms of resident comfort will keep customers coming back.
There is so much to do within the estate (camping, swimming, braai facilities, conference facilities, a chapel, putt-putt, tennis, and the library) definitely value for money.
Slept over for a night.
For a family of 5 this accommodation is just too small and can get cramped. The location is good and closer to the extra facilities like the restaurant and swimming pools. The cutlery is of extremely poor quality. The drain in the outside bathroom is blocked, as is the drain from the kitchen exhaust pipe. The units are quite close to each other and there is not the view one would expect. If it's not raining, the children do have plenty of space to play and you can enjoy nature. The on-site restaurant is excellent and the putt-putt course in good condition. It would have been nice to have a document in the unit that contained all "things to do" such as walking routes or times the shop and restaurant are open, for example.
Master bedroom very small and poor quality linen, and no flat sheet. Place is full of spiders, we literally found a spider's nest under our pillow and had to spray it first. Mosquitoes bother a lot and there is nothing provided for it and no power plugs for mosquito machine. Solar panels only provide power for lighting and USB port. House hot during the day with no fan. Refrigerator does not cool efficiently and does not look like in photo. Upper sliding door goes off track. Resort pools very nice with beautiful and peaceful surroundings, would have liked better grass around the pools.
No info given on checkout procedures or what to do with garbage. Unit was dirty and we cleaned the braai ourselves from the previous guests. Not very impressed. Would rather camp in that case.
Rustic comfort. Fridge didn't work properly. Needs fans in all rooms in the heat. Can't leave doors/windows open due to monkeys. Perhaps some security bars or chicken wire so you can leave them open to ventilate the house.
Had a bit of an issue with gas from the fridge, but nothing that ice and cooler boxes couldn't sort out. Didn't really have hot water, but we are in the woods and not too worried about it. Wash warm enough to shower in cold water. Enjoyed it a lot.
