This is a very difficult review. The staff at Boskoppie were incredibly friendly and extremely helpful. Unfortunately, the infrastructure is very dilapidated, unkempt and dirty.
Loadshedding is not controlable, but matches are cheap, there were plenty of candles and ony 1 match, not onebox, only 1 match. Toilet in second bathroom, leaking floor wet around the toilet. Curtain rail in second room not fixed to wall properly. . Towels frayed, duvet also a little thread bare.
Place was dusty, braai area cleaned weeks ago. Pots and pans old and damaged, no saucers, small plates, chalet is for 12 people and there are only 4 wine glasses, one glass holder. Although it showed as fully booked we were the only guests. When we moved out of the parking area we were shouted at, when I wanted to take pictures someone shouted at us: "Don't do that!"
All the problem there was was the guests who checked in next to us and the guests next to them made a lot of noise and chatted and this is unacceptable. We didn't sleep because they were hanging out and fighting all night. But otherwise the visit was very pleasant. They can serve a steak or expand a bit with their menu.
6 years ago it was the best place to go to, and I wanted to go again. I'm so glad that I made that decision. It changed my life, my way of seeing things in a positive way and it helped me choose what to do in the future. In everything we did there, I will give the staff full stars for the food, their friendly faces, the help and friendship, the tour, the food (excellent) the manager, Liberty, that went out of his way, in tough times with the power outages from Eskom, these people did know what they were doing under much pressure. I am going again. The fresh air, and the feeling of being safe between all those beautiful big cats. You're the best. Thanks for everything.

Was awesome to be in no. 4 to stay, to hear and see the lions' roar as they walk past the wire. Tour was very interesting with Steward who taught us a lot.
We enjoyed every moment.
It was a wonderful place with the lions watching you as you roast meat. The cottage is well-equipped and clean. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
Great getaway for a weekend with family. It's not every day that you can enjoy a barbecue fire with the roar of lions as a background!

Great place, would definitely recommend to anyone. Planning to visit again soon myself, as we had two functions in Kroonstad this weekend, we spent less time there than we would have liked. My grandson was in tears when we left with the words. "This is my happy place, I want to stay here". The lions were only 5 m from our house. Longing for the tranquility!
We enjoyed it a lot and it's beautiful.
We went through 2 tins of poison for the ants and could not prepare food in the kitchen at all. There were cockroaches in the closet, the faucet in the bathroom was coming loose. For the price paid, there could at least be cleaning services...seeing that there was no broom to clean yourself.

We had a wonderful time at Boskoppie. Room 4 was perfect, quiet and right by the wire where about 9 lions and tigers came to greet us during our barbecue. Our room was clean and comfortable and provided all our necessities. The lady who did our tour was on point with her knowledge of the animals.
