Accommodation is basic, but with everything one needs for an overnight stay. There is an outside braai (bring your own wood). Instant coffee, tea and milk are provided, as well as bed linen, towels, soap and plenty of extra blankets. However, accommodation costs are a bit high for what is offered. The place and accessories are a bit tired/used. Seating to eat at is 4 x plastic garden chairs. Kitchen utensils are "tough" from dust/use. All curtains are not clean either. The fridge makes terrible noise and makes it difficult to sleep in that room. The master bedroom has a large tree that scrapes against the roof when the wind blows and keeps you awake at night.

Perfect spot to visit farms and experience other attractions in the area. Lovely peaceful olive farm just outside the town at the foot of Gifberg with welcoming hosts. The units have all the amenities for a comfortable stay.
We were warmly received by Salome. Salome is a passionate naturalist and is the best hostess to introduce you to all the birds, plants and trails of the area. The guest house is located just outside the town on a working Olive Farm and the atmosphere is very peaceful among all the birds. Very secure parking behind high fences, no city noise and nice, comfortable, tidy cottages with everything you need, including braai facilities, all in a well-tended garden. Botuin Cottages is nicely situated for going to see flowers at Niewoudtville or just a trip to Doringbaai and the surrounding West Coast towns. Botuin is also an ideal destination for cyclists and walkers to the many available mountain pass routes directly from Botuin. We stayed 3 nights and it was almost too little. Needless to say, we will be staying there again.

Good to find a place willing to take in overnight guests as we were wishing to break a long road trip and not have to spend two nights minimum. Also really liked the fact that there was ground coffee available, as most places only provide instant.

Stayed here for a week, quite over Christmas, due to personal circumstances. And it was great, for me, my partner, 3 Labradors, and an African Grey. If doing nothing is rest, then we got it. Particular hospitality from Salome, one of the best hostesses I have ever encountered. And I stay at many places. My animals thought this was their permanent home. Chalet consists of 1 closed bedroom and 1 bedroom which is part of the kitchen. 1 couple has to walk next to the bed of another couple to get into the bathroom. Uncomfortable especially at night. Slept 3 nights but only saw our hostess once upon arrival. 1 bedroom no storage space at all. Other room pair hangers on stand.
We were initially taken to the wrong house because apparently someone had been staying at the booked place for some time. No rubbish bins where we could empty the house bin. Light in kitchen not working.

Salome and Japie are friendly and very hospitable. This is our second time staying there. Excellent location to look at flowers in Nieuwoudtville and Strandfontein. Salome is also an excellent plant expert who acts as a tour guide. We also did a day trip from Botuin Cottages to Kamieskroon and Namakwa (Turtle) nature reserve to see flowers there.
The unit was very comfortable. Owners very friendly and very helpful with information about the area and recommendations on where to go to drive nice roads. Would never have made it to Kliprand if it wasn't for them. We also really enjoyed the two beagles! Would definitely recommend Botuin.

Sy het die ZAR-restaurant in die nabygeleë woonwapark aanbeveel en besprekings vir ons gemaak. Ons het 'n heerlike aand en 'n gemaklike kamer met al die geriewe geniet. Tabard lotion, insect spray and a plug-in insecticide for the ever present mosquito problem. Tea, coffee and rusks, soap in the hand basin and 100% cotton sheets and pillow cases! Our stay was brief as we were on a short road trip, but I would definitely book again should we be passing the area.

We were very kindly received by the owner, our place was ready, clean and tidy on arrival. Delicious plunger coffee makes you feel right at home. Private braai corner. Good value and centrally located. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We felt at home in the farm vibe at Frantoio. The little house has a good bed, linen, and comfy shower. Very friendly and helpful hosts.

We really enjoyed the one night stay. Owners very friendly people and we had a nice chat. Even got a cutting of the most beautiful mallow I've ever seen. The accommodation is nice, neat and clean. We are provided with nice coffee, tea and milk and the most delicious biscuits.
Accommodation is not suitable for 3 adults. The photo on the web page is misleading. There is 1 double bed and 1 single bed in the room which serves as a living room and kitchen. I clearly said we are 3 adults on the application form. There is no privacy involved. People are clearly desperate to make money. The place can only work for singles and couples. Suitable for overnight stay. Definitely not for longer periods. I really hate misleading photos. Travelers. Be on your guard.

Botuin offers 3 cottages, all of which are open-plan units. Kalamata Cottage has 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Mission Cottage has a double bed and Frantoio Cottage has two single beds as well as a double bed in an extra room. Please note that Frantoio is more suitable for a family and not for 2 couples. All the cottages are fully equipped with DStv, air-conditioning and private braai-facilities. The interiors are stylishly decorated with hand-crafted wooden furniture. Botuin provides the little extras, including crispy cotton-percale linen, a coffee station with plunger, and warm hospitality.
On-site facilities include a swimming pool, a braai area, Wi-Fi and secure parking. Botuin is a pet-friendly as well as bird-friendly establishment and there is a Namaqua warbler resident in the garden.
Botuin has approximately 400 olive trees on the farm including frantoio, mission and kalamata varieties. Extra virgin olive oil and table olives are available for a reasonable price.
