No need to drive anywhere, shops are within walking distance, the beach is right at your front door, and my kids were safe. I actually allowed them to go to the pool by themselves. The cleaning lady came every morning, so we basically did nothing except enjoy the sea view and relax.

We had a great stay, the place is very well located, but needs some attention. There is an art to washing hair at the sink in the guest bathroom before the water disappears. The plug must please be replaced. So is the guest toilet, which runs all the time. The plug at the sink in the kitchen's rubber does not seal and the water seeps away even before one can tackle the dishes. Otherwise it would have been great. Thank you very much.

Location of the apartment is fantastic and the owner was very friendly. Everything in the apartment is acceptable, except the cutlery. The cutlery must be replaced and replenished as there is not enough.

Amazing ocean and beach view from the flat. Very close and easy access to the beach, swimming pool, braai facilities, and a few restaurants. 600 m from Checkers, which is also a big plus. The flat was clean and tidy, with a big smart TV, and all the basics you need for an enjoyable stay. The building itself was also clean and tidy, with well-maintained gardens, braai facilities, and a pool area. Good vacation spot! We enjoyed the beach and even saw some dolphins!

The apartment is in an excellent location. The apartment is well-equipped. Cleanliness is not up to standard. Also, the cleaning service showed up at 7:50 way before the check-out time. And the lady stated that she thought we had checked out, that was very unethical of the cleaning service.

Overall the stay was good. The unit needs maintenance. The room's sliding door comes out of its track when you move it open or close. Bedside lamps are full of old dust and cobwebs. Window handles have bad grips.

The apartment is covered in cockroaches. The oven and stove are rusty and dirty. Ladles, "utensils" rusted. Risk to health. Forks were dirty and some had old food on them. Plates chipped. Sinks were dirty and had hair in them. Tiles on porch chipped and cracked in certain areas.

Windows that want to fall off their sashes when you open them, room light strobes like a disco, hardly a cupboard that can stay closed anymore, so they all hang slightly open, cupboard doors also battered, broken glass tops on tables throughout. A broken sliding door: we were told someone was called, but they never arrived. Curtains with broken hooks make them hang badly and are difficult to handle, adding to the "shabby" feel. Place dirty, floors were rough with dust, cleaner not much interested in cleaning: Chase the dirt around and put away as soon as possible. However, the population of cockroaches enjoys the place very much. No place to hang swimming towels, not even a standard folding frame which any right-thinking person would expect as a minimum (and could be seen on all the other balconies in the complex). No internet/Wifi. Nothing to help load shedding: Was glad I packed a bunch of my own stuff. Drive to parking is very bumpy, car's undercarriage scratched every soul-crushing time. Maybe not a problem for taller cars, but for our sedan it was very close to impassable. The shower is a joke: Small, shower head is badly rusted and blows hard streams of water, and not adjustable at all. One of the worst showers I have ever seen. En-suite is "basic" to say the least. The stoep table in photos is no longer there, and has been replaced with a large wooden one that does not fit well on the stoep if 4 people want to sit by it. Makes for an awkward shuffle around if someone has to get up to get something. The few bright spots: Good location, kitchen not too badly equipped, large smart TV with DStv. View is good, braai facilities in complex were very pleasant, as was the swimming pool. Bottom line: A bad unit in a complex that actually looks really good. Could have been very good with just a little effort, but unfortunately it is not. Will pass in the future.

"The view was beautiful, but the cleanliness left much to be desired."

The first impression was of dirt that had just been swept out of the apartment's door and the rug that had not been shaken out for months. Inside the apartment was not very clean either. The daily cleaning never takes more than 10 minutes. An upgrade is definitely in dire need. No WiFi facility. No provision for possible load shedding. (eg candles and lighter). No drying rack available for swimwear and towels.

This unit was very comfortable and being a corner unit had the added advantage of a wraparound patio. Great breaker and sea views, good service and security. We however decided to decline the unit service facility due to high infection rates. Will definitely return in the future.

I just feel that linen and kitchen equipment should be upgraded and replaced. Some of the dining room chairs are also very low back, but overall I would definitely recommend the place.

Very nice stay. Luckily I had read previous reviews so I had an idea of things we had to take ourselves. I would prefer to receive an information sheet in advance of what one should take, for example toilet paper, dishcloths etc. As well as how cleaning services work and instructions from the remote that works on all the gates. Very conveniently located and although you use a joint braai and swimming pool we could still enjoy our privacy. Very safe and well equipped for a family with small children.

Unit cleanliness not the best, walls, doors and curtains could do with a good wash. The sofas have not been cleaned in a very long time. Found that the number of braais at the pool are not sufficient for the number of units. If braai is not "booked" early enough the wait is long. Why not have a braai on the balcony?

We were happy with our stay and would love to return but some glitches did damper our stay however a few points to be noted. 1. On collection of keys from the garage, pick up only keys in envelope no mention of which security button to push. There were 2 gates at complex, no mention which is gate remote button and which gate or entrance to use. 2. No toilet paper in complex. We arrived by plane and had to use our paper masks to wipe ourselves till we got to shop next day to buy toilet paper! 3. Being a self-catering unit, normally they leave a small amount of dishwasher soap. We were not told to supply, we heard that all the other rentals at Boulders there was toilet paper; small soap and dish wash with complementary coffee. 4. It should be mentioned like bring own towels; toilet paper dish wash liquid and dry up cloths 5. DStv was disconnected, I had to call the owner to connect at my expense. 6. We wanted to go to the beach. We heard there is a gate to walk through, this was not mentioned to us once again at my expense. We had to call the owner to tell us where to find pedestrian gate and to use white button on remote. 7. The middle sliding door onto patio does not open. 8. No clothes line to hang wet towels on verandah. 9. Front door warped and difficult to open and close. To the extent we have to bang. Just a point as the unit is exceptionally hot with no fans provided, perhaps a security gate on front door to allow to stay open with air passing through. 10. Nothing was mentioned about cleaners coming into clean. I was walking around in minimum, hubby sleeping, and boom bang walked into a cleaner in the kitchen she must have let herself in. 11. Bedside lamps in main room do not work neither the plug in main room which was dead. 12. Shower door is faulty when opening or closing came off rails my hubby tried to fix it. 13. Would be nice if there was a broom available so we could sweep the sand away. 14. TV/DStv poor reception seems wires are faulty. 15. Fridge leaks water it seems to be the water dispenser in fridge the lid is faulty does not seal so when you open door water welcomes you. Surely like all other self-catering units in the unit there should be a booklet or flip-file with instructions regarding all the above. Or a paper explaining the access remotes; DStv activation; how to get to the beach, where to park, we were told to park in 310 but from the time we arrived till the time we left some other car was in the 310 parking bay. So other than the very unorganized administration we had a relaxing stay and if they can fix the glitches we would like to return.

The unit not very clean. Inside drawers and cupboards a bit dirty. Does not shower very clean either. Roof fan not working. The bed in the master bedroom's mattress is rags.

The apartment is beautiful and the view just as fantastic. But unfortunately there are many problems. The front door's handle and lock are completely loose and rusted, making it hard to unlock. The sliding door in the living room doesn't open at all, think it's off the rails or something. The TV wouldn't turn off at all, so we had to unplug it to stay off. The living room sofas and the chairs in the kitchen are dirty and could do with a cleaning. The towel rail in the first bathroom is loose and keeps falling off. The toilet in the bedroom kept running and swallowing air that we had to turn it off just to be able to sleep. I understand it is a self-catering apartment but certain things are expected such as a roll of toilet paper, a towel for the water in the shower, or a face towel, even a laundry rack for the wet clothes and towels to dry. And then for the luxury I would definitely look at WiFi, a washing machine or tumble dryer especially since it is completely self catering.

In the overall we had an enjoyable stay in the apartment which was neat and tidy with all the necessities. Amazing views. Bathroom fixtures could do with an upgrade. Unfortunately Wi-Fi was not available. DStv channels were unclear, unable to view. Gardens and braai area in tip top condition.

My husband came off a business flight from JHB and urgently needed the toilet. There was no paper. It was very weak for me. If it had been said that we should take, I would have warned him. The shower door was broken. There were balls of hair blowing out from under the sofas from previous people who had been there. The linen was old. The toilets were not very clean. The kitchen and the rest were nice and comfortable. We really enjoyed the sea view and would love to go again, but with new linen and shower door and clean or new toilet seats.
