We booked the accommodation because of a wedding at Monkey Valley, so we only slept there and did not really have time to enjoy the place and the swimming pool. My husband enjoyed a swim before we left for the wedding. But it's a nice and cozy little place and very quiet.

On arrival, we were beautifully welcomed by Richard. Our unit was exactly what we saw in the advertisement. I loved the pool area as we walk out of the unit. We could freely go in and out to go sightseeing. the beach was very close by and beautiful. We went to relax, away from the busy life and the tranquillity was what we got. From 10pm to 3am there was a TV playing with a droning male voice. It made our sleep restless. They could have had better loadshedding light options. The bathroom did not smell good. There was washing hanging up outside the bedroom window.

Upon arrival, we stood in front of the gate for a long time because the domestic who had to let us in was probably sleeping somewhere because no matter how we called or knocked, she heard nothing! The neighbours offered us the use of the toilet. After many calls to two numbers Duncan (unreachable) and Richard, the door finally opened. She didn't hear us! Unbelievable since we have made enough noise, calling and knocking! We were given the key to the pool room. Unfortunately, we could not use these keys because the lock on the sliding doors did not work, so we were never able to lock our room in our absence or at night. When we mentioned it, we were told that it is a very safe place. The next day, when we returned, we stood in front of a closed door again for a while until the girlfriend of the manager Duncan opened the door after we had to call Duncan and Richard again. She was very surprised that we had not been given a key when we checked in! As yet received a key. All this does not really reflect a streamlined check-in procedure, which one would expect from a hospitality facility! There was no flat sheet on our bed but only a synthetic duvet with a synthetic-like cover, so it was very sweaty and you couldn't just lie under a sheet when it was warm because that was not available. The sink in the kitchen leaked so much that after washing the dishes there was water in your shoes. Behind the oven in the kitchen there is a pipe covered with transparent plastic and when the neighbours flush the toilet you see and hear water coming up and the smell is like a sewer. The wooden dining table inside was very dirty and there were no placemats or tablecloths. The bathroom is nicely tiled but not finished! The basin column is in a hole that has been taped shut with adhesive tape and you can see the drain and supply pipes lying in the soil, which also allows pests to crawl out. Despite a ceiling fan, there was still a sewage smell in the bathroom now and then. There is a sagging sofa full of stains covered with some stained bedspread and it was very uncomfortable and difficult for us older people to get up from. There was never any cleaning during the 7 days we stayed there and there were no cleaning tools to do it yourself. Also no plastic bags for the pedal bucket. There was an overflowing waste bin under a staircase outside, so it was in unhygienic condition. Towels and tea towels and toilet paper were not automatically provided every few days. We had to ask for them ourselves after three days. Received two towels and two tea towels, one of which was full of stains. There were dirty outdoor chairs with stained cushions plus a dirty outdoor corner table on our terrace and a large empty pot with a stump of a dead plant. The pool has peeling walls and the creepy doesn’t move. On the overgrown path to the room, we had to be careful not to tear our arms on the thorns of the bushes. Which happened to my husband with bloody consequences. The lawn near the swimming pool is more sand than grass. There are dozens of pots and crates with cannabis plants. There is complete chaos in the side garden with a dilapidated swing, car tires, rubbish, a fallen fence and well-treated cannabis plants. Municipality workers who were working on the sewer and digging in the garden came to ask us if the cannabis buds were already dried?! The manager is busier with his cannabis plants than with his guests and is almost never present. In all honesty, I have to thank him for his help in the form of a new cord for our camping fridge. Despite this being a cheap place to stay, there are just too many things that are wrong and would not be necessary if the establishment received a little more attention and maintenance!

The unit we booked looks like the photos on Bramley's page. Location was excellent for us for everywhere we drove. We chose it for the good price because we had eaten out at other places and had a wedding to attend. Unit itself was neat and clean, not exactly elegant but had everything we needed. However, entry to the property is another matter. Packed and there are no other words, untidy and disorganized. We were kindly welcomed, and unit was ready on time. Given the frequent load shedding, a candle or two would have been handy in addition to the one rechargeable lamp.

We concerned about the water in the bathroom leaking onto the wood. Also you may want to think of fans in the event it's hot in the loft. Photo different but probably due to extra bed.

The place we stayed in for the weekend was beyond our expectations! It had everything we needed. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the tranquility and appreciated our complimentary coffee and tea outside on the porch each morning! Looking forward to coming back again for the next horse riding competition.

The owner is very polite and made sure that we were comfortable in our apartment whilst handing over our keys. Our accommodation was also well seen to. All Covid-19 protocols were observed throughout our stay. In addition the owner also kindly catered for some of our basic necessities which included toilet paper, tea, milk and coffee, etc. The beach is no longer than 5-10 minutes away, so it served as a refreshing walk for my friends and I. The pool at the location was refreshing and well looked after. We generally just had a well rounded stay. We encountered a peaceful stay with no disruptions whatsoever. I have recommended the location to family and friends and will continue to do so!

We stayed in the apartment upstairs, it looks cosy and neat. 5 people can sleep here. The bedroom downstairs has 2 single beds, the bedroom upstairs has a double matras on the floor. There is also a single bed in the living room. The upper floor is small and you can´t stand straight. There is a fully equipped kitchen. You also get coffee, tea and fresh milk. The owner that is living on the premises is very friendly and helpful. There is a nice swimming pool that wasn't clean due to the bad weather we had in October. We were satisfied with our stay and we felt safe.
