Close to the offramp so great location. The unit was equipped with air conditioning, which was welcomed during summer times. We had braai facilities and a big fridge to keep our meat frozen. The linen was fresh and the unit clean overall. My only recommendation would be to have a small carton box of milk for coffee, seeing that homemade rusks are provided, which were delicious.

Fortunately, we had our own rechargeable lamps with us. Safe premises and parking is safe as well. Would go there again.

The room is on the smart side but absolutely adequate for an overnight stay. Very neat and clean. Friendly welcome and recommendations were made for places to eat. A storm disrupted our barbecue plans and also caused a power outage of 9 hours, as well as load shedding. We were therefore not able to make full use of the technology that comes with the room such as TV and WiFi. The very comfortable bed and ensured good sleep.

Just a pity with loadshedding that there is no flash, lamp or any other light available. Luckily we had our own flash. They did have a generator but did not use it. Loadshedding that evening at 8 o'clock. Also didn't say WiFi was available.

All we needed was a place for two to rest, and that's exactly what we got. The room is spacious enough for two people, with comfortable chairs to sit in, a TV with limited channels, free WiFi and the small fridge with a full bottle of ice cold water was a thoughtful extra. Pros: Comfortable chairs and a good mattress for sore road bodies. Our hostess also sent us the load shedding times in advance so that we could do our meal planning around them. Aircon in the heat of the Christmas holidays helped a lot to cool the room. Convenient little fridge to store the next day's road food. Spacious shower with a decent, large shower door and a sparkling clean bathroom and towels. Cons: Fitted sheets would have worked better than the regular flat sheet, these kept pulling out from the mattress and crumpling under me, causing me to wake up to make the bed. The pillows weren't great either, the small one is too soft and the size is too big, I struggled to get my lie down. Will we sleep there again? Definitely. It was good value for money and a comfortable, quiet drop-off location.

Halfway from Kleinmond to Pretoria we spent the night at Brand Guesthouse. We were received so kindly, we immediately felt at home. Everything was fresh and clean, we could have nice coffee and biscuits before we left. Thank you very much, we had a wonderful rest.

Good overnight stop between Western Cape and Pretoria. It was quiet, but the room is full of lights which makes it a bit difficult to fall asleep. The shower pipe has leaked water and sprays over the shower door and then wets the floor.

The hostess was lovely, she met us, gave us our keys and left us in peace. I felt for the time frame which was just a few hours of sleep it was a little expensive and we needed to be out by 09:00 so we felt a bit rushed considering we only arrived after 19:00. Tea, coffee and sugar were provided but no soap or shampoo, and no adaptors for charging cell phones. Travelers don't always have access to those things due to flight restrictions. We would have loved to stay longer and relax before hitting the road again but couldn't afford the extra R500 unfortunately.
I was somewhat disappointed. The advertisement shows a different picture than the room allocated to me. There is also no WiFi connection. After all, it's standard these days.

The room we spent the night in was equipped with a double bed and a bunk bed but the movement space was very limited and apart from the bunk bed, there was minimal storage space for luggage and toiletries. However, we know from previous visits that some of the other rooms are much more spacious.
Comfortable bed and quiet area, perfect for a night of sleep on the way to the Cape. The shower is also lovely especially after a day of sitting in the heat and there was a fan and heater in the room for any temperature. Only negative comment was the coffee cups were not washed well, there were hard circles around from what I assume were previous guests' coffee. Luckily packed our own cups too. Additional comments for guests is to bring your own water if you don't like the taste of borehole water as well as there was no milk so we drove and bought a small box for the evening.
There was only powdered milk in the room. As a tea drinker, this is not an option.
Good option and will consider it again.
The Covid-19 regulations in terms of measuring a person's body temperature have not been done. No Covid-19 travelers documents offered or filled out. No emergency lights provided with Eskom load shedding. Unit no 1's decor and linen are already a bit outdated. The "Lapa" floor needs urgent maintenance. The parking is inside but not completely secure. The kitchen ceiling's paint peels off. There is only one key for the entrance door on a ring and thus the door must remain unlocked if one person goes to the shops to be able to use the gate control.
Place is very centrally located for 1 night's rest. They can look at the pillows though. It was really disappointing.

Brand Guesthouse offers rooms that are fairly small, but spacious enough, and impeccably clean. My partner and I had a room containing a double bed and bunk bed, with en-suite bathroom. There was plenty of room for the two of us, but it might have felt a little cramped if we had had 2 children with us as well. The bed was comfortable, and the aircon/heating unit warmed up the room nicely. The guesthouse is easy to find from the freeway, especially if using Google Maps. We arrived after dark (around 19:30) and we were warmly welcomed by the owner and shown to our room. There is plenty of parking on the property, behind walls and a locked gate. We were moving from Cape Town to Johannesburg so we had a lot of things in our car, and it was safe on the property overnight. We enjoyed our stay at Brand Guesthouse - warm hospitality, clean rooms and safe parking, at a good price. Thank you!

I would not use Brand Guesthouse again. There was no kitchen to rinse plates or cups. The bedroom was very small for a travelling family. The room was hot and stuffy. The owner should have opened the windows as they know guests are arriving. The bathroom was a converted closet with no window which was needed I such a small space.
Colesburg was not what I expected, roads are terrible and thought as it is midway between Johannesburg and Cape Town and a popular overnight stop, more shops and restaurants would have been available.

Just a pity that the guest house does not provide fresh milk in the room. I also had to ring the gate bell many times before someone came to open it. If one is tired from driving, it is quite an irritation to be able to enter the guest house's premises.

My wife and I had a very comfortable stay. The English language directions to the B&B provided are outdated and confusing and require significant amendment.
Was very tidy and clean. There was everything we could possibly need. Quiet, tranquil and we felt very safe. Will use their services again. Just to make a suggestion, coffee, sugar and milk was really nice, just remember to have sugar for diabetics.

We slept here on the way to the Free State and it was a wonderful experience to stay in a clean, tidy guest room, with a nice shower and a kitchenette in which we could enjoy a cup of coffee and biscuits in the morning before we hit the long road again could tackle. We will definitely stay here again, as it is only about half way to the farm, and it is really nice and clean. Also secure parking for our vehicle with all our luggage for the holiday. Brand Gastehuis is a convenient overnight stop on your journey between Cape Town and Gauteng. The guest house is so situated with a few restaurants and take-away places nearby. There is also secure parking for your vehicle behind a fence.

It was just a stopover from Cape Town to Pretoria. Place was neat and clean. It will help if there is a little milk for coffee and tea. There is Cremora but we don't drink it. Friendly hostess. Arrangements with the key was easy and safe so we were able to leave as early as we wanted the next morning. Price is very affordable and is appreciated because a lot of the places exploit people for just a bed.

There should be a designated smoking area away from the rooms. It doesn't help that your room is non-smoking, but an inconsiderate person smokes right in front of your door. This creates conflict between guests and is also against the smoking law. I would also recommend that emergency numbers are posted inside the rooms. Brand Guesthouse is really great accommodation that I would recommend to everyone.

Place well taken care of. Everything you are looking for to stay overnight except there is no air cooling, but a fan. Also nice braai place. Just bring meat and wood.
The place is neat and well located. Only negative comment I can give is the fridge that makes a noise when it turns off and on, as well as the sound that sounds like some pressure pump that constantly turns on and off.

Although not too problematic, the wall that separates the bathroom part from the sleeping room would be more acceptable if it extended up to the roof. I forgot two milk tarts in the fridge and informed the owner by voice mail (She didn't answer my call) about it and that they should enjoy it on my behalf. Just a message that she received the message would be appreciated. Although the price is competitive, I doubt whether I will use the guest house again.

Arrival was fine and hostess just unlocked and said welcome. No further contact. Place very neat and well furnished. Had a nice shower with heavy weather during the evening. Under the awning right in front of our room was a light on. The light illuminated our room even though the curtains were closed. I asked the hostess by text to turn off the light. She explained that she was still waiting for guests which was understandable and she would have turned off the light. It didn't happen then and at night it was very disturbing. We already want to experience the darkness of the Karoo. If my mattress at home was this bad I would really replace it. We had a nice stay apart from all the problems mentioned.

On the way to Colesberg we were in an accident just outside Bloemfontein. We let Sanet know and she didn't hesitate for a moment to get up at 01:40 and open for us. Her equal in Colesberg is not there!

We were pleasantly surprised as we'd booked at the last minute and were expecting the worst. We were made very welcome and assured that we were safe. Our accommodation consisted of a double bed, 2 single beds, kitchen and lovely large shower. We'll definitely make use of Brand Guesthouse again.

The room very cramped. Small things need e.g. cooked there were no hangers in the closet. No trash can in the bathroom. More rails for towels and racks to put toilet bags on in the bathroom would help. In the kitchen, a rectangular wall cupboard can be installed on top of the wall instead of storing cutlery under the dishwasher. We have stayed overnight in many guesthouses. It's not quite up to standard. Still slept well and rested.

We were phoned before we arrived about our arrival time so that they could meet us - which was done by a very friendly, happy person. We were escorted to the room. The room was spotless, smelled fresh and a tray with coffee, tea and rusks awaited us. The beds were of good quality with plenty of bedding and good quality towels were supplied. Outside sitting area was clean. We were very, very impressed and will certainly recommend it to all our friends!

Comfortable room with everything clean and tidy. However, it is only very hot in the summer months, so an air conditioner (instead of a fan) would have made the stay extra pleasant. Our room was very neat and clean. We would just suggest a shelf for the cutlery and coffee etc. We would also suggest a light above the basin in the bathroom to make shaving easier. An extra mirror by the power outlet will also make it easier for ladies who want to style their hair.
Okay for single travelers but not suitable for people sharing. There is nowhere to prepare food or wash covers, just a small corner of the bedroom with a fridge, microwave and a very small table with dishes on it. On the plus side, very clean room and delicious biscuits!

The place is quite average for a night's sleepover, but not in the summer. They only have a standing fan which didn't help. We had to wet our night clothes in order to sleep. There was also no draft for air to blow through. Should have noticed myself and looked for a place with air conditioning. At least it was neat and clean.

Very cramped due to 4 beds in 1 space. The towels smelled of smoke. There is insufficient storage space for cutlery, a tray with cutlery is on the floor. It is very difficult for people over 60 to bend over. The table for unpacking and eating food is a small round table that stands in the corner that one cannot reach and is very low. The kettle and microwave are on the fridge and unsafe. It was raining when we got there and we were soaking wet from the car to the room. There is no canopy for protection. We were wet and cold when we finally got inside.
We were received fairly well, although our hostess did not have sufficient information, we were booked for 2 nights. On Saturday, there was no follow-up about our well-being, no renovation of the place, no clean towels or toilet paper provided. Narrowness of area was very inconvenient, especially if the toilet was used. So we were disappointed in our stay.

The pictures of the establishment are not the true version of what you get or expect. There is no seating inside the unit, only 1 chair and then they say there is room for 4! The crockery was of very poor quality and there were not even proper drinking glasses. We had to sit on rusty garden furniture on a cement slab in the bloody heat with no cushions on the seats. There was minimal coolness. We felt like we were pushed into a back room. For us, the establishment is not worth any type of star rating. I am giving a star because it is required to be able to complete the feedback.

Accommodation was suitable for a quick overnight stay. Quite handy for a family of 4 with no washing up facilities. Would prefer a more private bathroom with its own light. Would not recommend room number 2 in summer. It's very hot with no ventilation.

The bed was the best we have ever encountered in our many travels. We can recommend it wholeheartedly. We did find the unprivate toilet to be totally unacceptable. Booking for two people and being placed in a room with an additional bunk bed was not pleasant. This limited space to almost zero.

There were a few issues, but if these are addressed the place gets full marks! The kitchen light was constantly in the process of turning on, obtrusive on-off-on-off. It did not go on after more than an hour. There wasn't even a soap to wash our hands in the bathroom when we got there. As part of her "advertisement" she indicates that there are complimentary biscuits and coffee. There is only 1 biscuit for each. Most places have it anyway.

Very basic. You get what you pay for. Has potential to develop further.
The room is very nice and clean. However, I am a diabetic and therefore cannot handle heat at all, the room was inhumanly hot. I later threw wet towels over me to try to combat the heat. I will never stay there again. With that type of heat, one would assume that the guest house would at least have a fan. The most important thing for me is to be comfortable. I had never been in such discomfort as that night. It was unsafe for me because I had to sleep with the sliding door open all night.
The toilet/bathroom does not have a ceiling - so no privacy there. The TV cables are mounted right above the shower - an accident waiting to happen. If it wasn't for the extreme heat in the room, it was a good place to sleep for the price.

We slept well and were well rested the next day. We did have some trouble finding the place in the dark. Als was nice and clean and in their place. Will visit again anytime.
The toilet in our unit, number 1, was broken. I took the cover off and just operated the flush mechanism by hand. Bedside lamp did not work. Exterior light did not work. The car gate can close after hours, but the garden gate does not have a lock that can close. The electrical extension cord hangs loosely above the fridge and is dangerous. The kettle is on top of the microwave oven, a short person cannot use it and it is dangerous to remove, especially if the water is hot. There are no signs from the outside indicating that this is a guest house. It was not what we expected. We will not just spend the night there again.

Brand house is in a quiet neighborhood. Beds are in good condition. Water available for refreshing shower. The price is affordable.
