From check in to check out, we were accommodated with every request that we had. The swimming pool was refreshing in the Northern Cape heat especially after such a long drive from George. The owners, Frik and Susan are super good humans, and very friendly. Thank you both for your hospitality, friendliness and advice. Please give me a shout when you're in George.

The facilities were very basic, but clean. We struggled to find the place in the dark, as did the receptionist.
Noupoort is definitely not a holiday stopover for the fainthearted. Our host was very friendly and welcoming but there is absolutely nothing in Noupoort. The people are unfriendly and didn't even greet us as we were scurrying around the shops looking for something to eat. It's an okay stopover when money is tight and you want to experience desolation. The venue itself was clean but the interlinking doors made us feel very uneasy. The one room's trap door cover was left open. Our host went over and above to make us feel comfortable but the place just needs a bit of financial investment and upgrade. The picture of the pool on the site differs from reality, and that doesn't sit well with me. It wasn't a bad stay but I won't be back and I won't recommend it to friends/family just because Noupoort is just a forgotten, rundown little town. It put a damper on our trip back home, but in all, it was okay.
Ideal for an overnight stop.
The location is great for a stopover to the Western Cape, the venue has a lot of construction work that is not completed and not great on the eye.
However, the guest house is 'pet friendly' and this was a problem. Other guests had a dog that growled and charged at our grandchildren. The dog owner could not properly control the dog.
Susan, you are a star. Your house is extremely neat. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. I wish you only success. You will soon be on the "folder". We will definitely visit you again.
The establishment is still under construction, so some facilities are not working 100%. Friendly service from the people though.

The site is apparently currently under construction. The general appearance of the premises appears unkempt and untidy. Not the type of accommodation that should be advertised by the website. Disappointing.
If the power is off, there is no water to use for bath, shower or toilet. Short of a Jojo Tank as a solution instead of building more and builders were very arrogant on arrival.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and are constantly improving the facilities.
We were 4 adult men and we shared 2 rooms which fronted away from the main lodgings. We had our own built braai and we could spend time there until late at night. Wood and ice is available from the owner. We could use uninterrupted WiFi. The owner made sure we had cutlery to use so we could enjoy our braai. The rooms are clean and neat, has warm blankets, heaters, DSTV, double and single beds, and a table with 2 chairs. I could comfortable work inside the room. Parking is enough and everything is very safe. You will quickly make friends with the owners, they are very pleasant people.

We did only enjoy one night's sleep on the way to our destination, Breaking Dawn's management was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Facilities are so neat and contain everything needed, will definitely use Breaking Dawn's facilities again for future trips.
It is located in a very small town, so your expectations cannot be very high, but they do very well for such a small town.
Room was clean and tidy. Only pity bathroom window could not close, no handle or closing clip.
Storm 26 Dec Noupoort area hit, according to Susan, no power, water etc. Not informed about it, so no value for money as could only sleep. Morning of departure no provision made for coffee/tea, basically just toothbrush before departure. If we didn't get food on Colesberg, 27 Dec we wouldn't be able to eat either. Prefer to be notified for option on alternative accommodation.
Basic things were not in order or working properly, such as the shower, bathroom door and the place lacks maintenance.
Very nice place, really a nice halfway stop.
The only fault I struggled with was the grill setting being too high or too low, which I corrected with bricks.

I was received very kindly by the owner and his wife. The rooms are really very neat and clean. The room in particular was spacious, clean and tidy. Even if the room had been on the street side, it had been really quiet. Because the parking was also next to the room, I thought the other visitors would wake me up when they drove. I slept right through it.

Breaking Dawn was a quiet clean facility. However, we only slept over but checked in earlier than we originally had to. And we were received with kindness. On our journey from Cape Town we had to sleep over again but halfway decided we wanted to get home and drove through. Would recommend breaking dawn to people who want peace and quiet.
The room was neat and clean, with a nice bathroom. An air conditioner would be a bonus, it was very hot and the fan didn't help much.

Noupoort has no eateries or supermarkets, be advised to make your own catering arrangements, Breaking Dawn is very clean with comfortable beds, we assumed it was bed and breakfast but found we had to pay an extra R85 for breakfast per person.
It is not clear on the website that breakfast was not included in the B&B.

A pipe burst in my bathroom. When I got there the plumbers were hard at work. The receptionist explained nicely. So I drove around a bit and later went back to the guest house. No problem. These things happen. It was my second time there.

The bedrooms were exceptionally fantastic, lovely, warmly prepared rooms and beds with the electric blanket already fitted. Coffee, sugar, milk and tea were also available in the rooms. Very enjoyable.

Although our stop was only overnight, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay that we chose to extend our stay for 1 more day. Booking here was the best choice for a rest from the long road and we could even enjoy our anniversary because I called in ahead to inquire as to any assistance with creating a romantic atmosphere upon arrival and responded optimistically with "see what we could do as it was a small town with little available". However, to my surprise we were welcomed by Helen with the exceptional heartfelt efforts. Champagne in the fridge and chocolates and hearts on the bed, candles everywhere. For us the stay was so short yet it really rejuvenated the soul. They offer a home away from home experience with an optional breakfast fit for a king. My partner and I owe a special time and big big thanks to the amazing staff for their reckoning customer service. Thank you Helen and Nelio.

I was received very kindly. Really a very neat and clean room with an en-suite toilet and shower, TV, fridge, microwave oven, tea/coffee/milk etc. I could safely park my car under the roof. And all this for R250 for the evening!
Great location and well placed pool, high enough wall to ensure privacy. Superb braai facilities. Rooms are just superbly spacious and a bathroom to die for. A wonderful place indeed!
The guest house is very spacious and comfortable. Outside is a swimming pool with comfortable patio furniture to sit and relax. I only slept over two days, but didn't book any meals.
Place was clean and fresh. Delightfully cool with air conditioning and cool pool to cool off in. Towel for drying hands would be appreciated.

On our arrival we were greeted kindly. It was a cold day in the Northern Cape and the electric beds, as well as the heater, had been switched on for us beforehand. The place has beautiful decor and is completely opposite to the area where he is found.

Upon arrival, the receptionist did not even know we were booked there, she was very helpful and immediately received us and room no. 7 was given to us. As far as the room is concerned, one of the weakest in which we stayed overnight thus far, the bed was bad, soapbox in shower was tied with a piece of binding wire. I believe that this guest house is in the market to be sold and the owner does not really care. No staff were on site during the night, what if you need urgent help? Can say the receptionist is certainly a piece of gold and the breakfast is 5 star quality.

Nelio was really nice to let us in at 01:00. We were greeted by a very nice lady who gave us the keys and let us in the kitchen to use the microwave. The stay was short and excellent.

Very daunting experience on approach to the venue. Very early closing check in time when traveling a long distance. No prior information given on the availability of an evening meal. Venue to possibly offer meals or inform guests to bring a meal with them.

Noupoort - nothing goes wrong and I recommend that you have already enjoyed dinner before you get there, we planned it that way based on a previous review. The accommodation is neat and clean and we have no complaints. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms have everything you need. There is also a swimming pool for cooling off - the creepy could have been turned on earlier in anticipation of people.

Positive: Reception, clean room/bathroom, air conditioning, clean linen. Negative: Pool in extremely poor condition and will not use. Blinds in room were broken and did not ensure privacy. Vehicle parking is not locked and is accessible to anyone. General: Is suitable for emergency overnight stays where only a bed and bathroom are required. Price per night is significantly higher than other places where standards are higher.
Bed was freezing cold! No shops to buy food. It was R500 for 4 plates of cooking. Breakfast is advertised at R65, but it's R85. We wanted to eat at 7, but by half past it hadn't started yet.
