A perfect way to get away from the noise of the city life! We have been at Buffelsdrift before and brought friends with this time to share the joy. We love that the units are far apart (private), and have a beautiful view and rustic feel. There is plenty of wood for a braai, and camping chairs to sit on the deck. We did a 7 km hike and saw giraffes, warthogs, impala, blesbok, monkeys, butterflies, birds etc. A drive to the lookout point is a must - the view is incredible! The owners are very kind, helpful and accommodating. Thank you!
Rustic but comfortable. Truly in the bush with no frills but all the basics needed. Warm welcome. Wild and lovely but will be very beautiful after the rains!
It was dirty. The lights weren't working. Previous guests' dirty sheets in bedside cupboard. Cupboards full of spider webs. Not clean at all. Waste of money. Shower, toilet, and basin hadn't been cleaned in months. Old soap in the shower from previous visitors.

A wonderful last-minute break away for New Years, what a way to start the year. Beautiful area, lush and green after all the rain. Perfectly private and quiet, only the sounds of birds (could hear the likes of the woodland kingfisher, fish eagle, Red-chested cuckoo etc). No cell phone signal at the cabin but could send messages on our 5km hike. Saw plenty of animals (eland, zebra, wildebeest, jackal, giraffe, impala, waterbuck, etc) on hike and drive. Worth driving to the lookout point. We will most definitely come again.
Dirty, all dishes needed to be washed prior to use as the cutlery was caked together. Glasses had a oil type film on them. It looks like the accomodation is not serviced / cleaned between guests. No hot water for shower. Lights were two LED strips, one inside and one outside. One bed with a base and 3 matresses' on the floor. Linen old and worn. Disappointing to say the least. Not even a plug point to charge a phone. Would not reccomend, overpriced for what you receive.
Big disappointment! Definitely 2 star. I would not pay more than R300 p/p sharing. Full of spiderwebs. Very deceiving advertising.

The location and farm is beautiful. Secluded, away from other guests and a great way to escape the busy city life, no WiFi or cellphone reception.
Silence, nature, rest.
In the end, the little convenience was good for us to let us switch off as a family. We were only concerned about safety because location. The cottages are very nice, but not recently cleaned, very dusty and good as a grater, braai was not available, as well as bed linen and towels that were provided were a bit used up already. But the scenery was very beautiful, and the service was also good. I just expected a neater, cleaner and better maintained place for the amount we paid.

We saw the following wildlife from Friday evening to Sunday morning: moose, blue wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, warthogs, diver and impalas. The wildlife is shy and the area is densely wooded so it's not a game park experience. Lots of bird life around the wetland. Enough hiking trails.
We enjoyed our weekend. Very private in the middle of the bush! The kids loved sleeping in the loft.
We had a great time. The cottage was very well furnished and we lacked nothing. We were well explained which routes we could drive (we don't have a 4x4) and managed easily. Also nice to go for a walk. We would definitely go again and recommend it to others.

Wonderful experience! Real rest, peace and appreciation of nature in a well-preserved, indigenous forest where only forest sounds and silence talk. Was 'n heerlike tyd in die natuur.
Our cabin was fully equipped with everything you need. There is a gas stove, gas geyser and gas heater in the cabin, the braai area has a decent braai and a large table. The farm is very peaceful and there is a nice vantage point that overlooks the whole valley. Would it for anyone who wants a quiet weekend away from the city.

Had a great stay. Even if the fault is that the wooden deck at the pool has a broken board and needs to be replaced, an injury can occur if you fall on it.
Wish we could have stayed longer, was one of the most beautiful places we have ever been, first time in the bushveld, the best was the hiking among the wildlife, saw giraffes, impalas, blue wildebeest and types of birds, it was breathtaking to see something like this to be able to do, will definitely come again and for much longer, definitely worth the price.

Everything you need is there. The gas fridge and gas stove was a bit problematic, but it was taken care of quickly and they gave us free extra ice to keep the frozen goods cold. The distance from Centurion contributes to us making plans to go back soon.
This is a place where you can relax, enjoy the tranquillity and no sound of another person. Walking routes are awesome. The owners think outside the box and must be complemented. The unit is clean, well equipped, practical and equipped for enough people. We are definitely go again. The place was full and we knew nothing of other people. Thank you.
The chalet is well furnished. A little tight for 3 teenagers upstairs in loft. Wonderfully quiet and away from other chalets. Beautiful barbecue place. Enjoyed the mountain bike trails and hiking trails. View from the top of the mountain is beautiful.

The lodge is spacious and clean .A great getaway. Peaceful and serene.
There's just one thing - I would really have made the bathroom of Squirrel Cottage a bit bigger, and gave the braai area a roof, so that you could braai even when it rains.
Comfortably close to Pretoria, there are two routes: the one is from Hammanskraal exit and through Dinokeng Nature Reserve, it is a shorter route with one less toll gate, but there is a 60 km/h speed limit and lots of speed bumps. The other route is via the N1 from the Rust de Winter exit, a bit further and additional toll gate at Carousel, about an hours drive to the house. The night sounds were unbelievable with the wood-hoopoes early in the morning. The Natal pheasant (we called him "the Chicken") stole food from our table, and later in the afternoon two bush shrikes called out from the massive acacia trees a standard feature in the camp. Such a nice weekend and affordable too.

The Squirrel Cottage was very clean and fully furnished. Although there is no power, the gas and solar panels are more than sufficient for hot water and light. We will definitely go again.

The best place is just around the corner from Centurion to get away and just "chill" in nature. Solar power and gas further contribute to the tranquility of the environment. Perfect place to rest and enjoy nature. Wonderful view and clean accommodation. Very friendly people who own the place and everything was available. We will definitely come again.
