Buffelshoek Tented Camp

Offering an authentic bush experience, Buffelshoek achieves a balance between comfort and bushveld ambience and maintains a feeling of exclusivity with only five, 2-sleeper thatch-roofed, canvas-fronted tents with open-air en-suite bathrooms, all on wooden decks. With a maximum of 10 guests per camp, this ensures that each guest receives individual attention.
The camp is unfenced and has limited solar power as well as a communal braai area. Meals are often prepared over an open fire and enjoyed either in the lantern-lit dining area or under the stars in the boma. Relaxing in the cosy lounge allows you to interact with other like-minded travellers, and sitting on the observation deck during the day gives an elevated view of the procession of wildlife and birdlife at the waterhole and across the plain. With the occasional elephant ambling through the camp, it means you won’t always need to go far for an incredible sighting.
Included in your stay are guided daily morning- and evening game drives in an open, viewing vehicle which ensures excellent sightings. Under the careful watch of the resident guides, it is not uncommon to see the Big 5 over a period of 3 days.

4 guests' feedbackOnly minor critique - better maps to access the camp, to avoid bad roads on the approach to reserve.
We had 2 lovely days at Buffelshoek with great game drives, experiences and great food (thanks Kenneth!). Also a great place for children (ours won't forget it !).
Buffelshoek Tented Camp is definitely a place I will return to. The camp overlooking a water hole was visited every day by elephants and other wildlife which ensured great excitement. The food was excellent with creative forest options. The highlight is certainly the game drives with Louis who does his utmost to give guests the best game viewing opportunities to be able to take the best photos. Hope to see you again soon.
Thank you to the team at Buffelshoek. Our four days were unforgettable. They were always friendly and helpful. We had a lovely meal, enjoyed the stay and the game was incredible to see. Basic, fragrant, delicious food and basic, comfortable accommodation in nature.
