Pleasant and top notch hospitality.
Great place, clean and people were hospitable.
The accommodation exceeded expectations in terms of comfort. The owners are very accommodating and we had a very nice stay. Rooms are quite basic but neat and clean. The guest house is located on a farm and the tranquility cannot be compared with any place to stay in the town. We also did not feel unsafe at any point. We would definitely recommend Buitehof to singles, as well as families and everything in between.

First night we didn't have hot water because the geyser was never turned on. The bed is in front of glass doors without curtains. I had to ask for a kettle in my room. Not enough blankets. No heater in room.
We slept in the two bedroom apartment. Its standard is not at all the same if you compare it with the photos of the other rooms on the website. There are old-fashioned steel frame beds with cheap spongy mattresses and no bedside tables, or bedside lights, or even pictures on the walls. The microwave oven was broken. The photo of the kitchen on the website is not of this apartment. The place was not very clean when we got there. There was someone during the weekend to wash dishes and make beds. We would not recommend this apartment.

For a self-catering unit, there should be a larger fridge, not just a bar fridge. The quote I received from LekkeSlaap was for an amount of R3,500 which included my grandson's 1 night stay but we had to pay an additional R200 for the 1 night?

For the price we paid, we had a nice stay. The cottage definitely needs to be renovated. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
