23 guests' feedbackBushbaby's Dondini is one of my all-time favourites. The lack of TV and lack of cell phone signal forced us to relax, unwind and catch up with each other. I got some great photos and we tackled a very pleasant hike to the Aasvoel Caves in the adjacent Highmoor Nature Reserve.
Place was neat and had everything needed.
Beautiful surroundings. Quiet and peaceful. Comfortable and tidy accommodation with a beautiful view. Owner very helpful.
Bushbaby's @ Dondini Trout Farm is a gem in the Kamberg valley of KZN. The property is well maintained even with rain almost every day. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and well stocked for self-catering. The fishing was very good and dams well stocked. Vincent, the manager, was exceptionally helpful. We will be back soon with a Vodacom SIM card as MTN has very poor signal.
We really enjoyed our short stay. The trout fishing was amazing. We will definitely visit again.
The Bushbaby's @ Dondini Trout Farm is comfortable and has everything one needs. It's right on the dam and has a beautiful outlook. There's another bigger dam within walking distance as well. Overall it's a relaxing, peaceful place to spend a couple of days.
Lovely unit on the dam, with scenic views and amazing bird life! The unit is comfortably furnished, especially the couch in the lounge. Personally, I found the bed hard. But I think it's the 'accommodation standard'. There is no MTN cell reception. You'll have to drive about 5 km up the road to get reception or hike up the hill, which was really nice to do, has the best views! My only complaint is the fireplace. It doesn't work and the whole unit will smell like smoke. It was really chilly when we went and would have liked to use the fireplace to warm up. I would recommend bringing some board games to occupy your time. There is no TV in the unit and we had no cell reception. I was aware there was no TV while chatting with the lovely owner, Sue. We will definitely be back. It was so peaceful. I want to bring my best friends along with us next time, so I'll get a larger unit.

Beautiful. Close to and in exceptional natural beauty e.g. Giant's Castle, Highmoor and Kamberg Reserve. Restful. Hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing, barbecuing, driving around — all in the middle of the accommodation. Service is 100% and facility is very well managed and maintained. Friendly and helpful. The highlight of our tour holiday. Roads are a bit of a challenge, but the farming community maintains them themselves as much as possible.
The only thing I could say that was a negative, is the privacy. People fish off the jetty, and if you're sitting on the veranda, it's very close.
Bushbaby's is a lovely cottage right on a small but well stocked dam. The grounds are immaculate and the bird life is a wonder to behold. We will certainly be back again and again.
The Kamberg Road is atrocious but the arduous journey is worth it to get to Bushbaby's @ Dondini Trout Farm.
It was freezing cold from the snow but the cottage was toasty and warm from the 2 very good heaters, fire place and electric blanket. It was well equipped and comfortable.
Stunning setting with beautiful surroundings, nice and quiet. Cottage very comfy and had almost everything we needed.

Neat, comfortable self-catering accommodation with everything we needed. Just a pity the place is not serviced. Very friendly reception and hospitality. My husband caught great trout in the ponds (fly fishing). Beautiful surroundings.
I would like to suggest having torches in the cottage especially to use when load shedding happens. Second suggestion: a kettle to use on the gas oven would be great. There is no Wi-Fi or mobile signal and this makes communicating with the manager difficult. The road from Mooi River to the gravel turnoff is full of potholes. So drive to Dondini during daylight. Otherwise a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

We loved every moment of staying at Dondini but wanted to stay forever thinking about the horrible road we had to travel back on to Rosetta! Sorry, that road reminds us of the Dakar in many ways!
The public road from Rosetta into Kamberg district is full of potholes. But at the end this beautiful gem awaits! It's quiet, peaceful and you can really recharge your batteries. Each cottage has a beautiful view of the mountain and ponds. My little boy entertained himself with all kinds of outdoor activities. There is a nice place for cycling, large lawns, rowing boat, playing in stream, mountain climbing etc. No TV made way for a great many board games. The cottage is comfortably furnished with everything you need. Lovely fireplace for the cold days. My husband also enjoyed the trout fishing on our own porch.
Stunning cabin. Didn’t catch anything, but that was more my lack of skill than no fish.
Absolutely loved our stay. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will definitely be back often.
I would suggest the following, which was out of place: There was no broom or mop. There wasn't a black bag in the trash. There was no toilet spray in the bathroom. Other than the above it was a very nice and beautiful experience.

Bushbaby's @ Dondini Trout Farm is one of several cottages located on the Dondini Trout Farm, and the cottages have shared use of the dams.Only trout fishing is allowed and no other equipment is permitted.
Daily fishing fee of R150 per rod per day is charged. Payable separately.
Fishing is on a catch-and-release basis, but should you wish to keep the fish, payment is required per kg.
Please note that there is a gravel road leading to the establishment. Guests are required to enquire about the condition of the road, before arrival, as it could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
