The house was very clean and tidy. Great rest, all the wildlife that came to visit really enjoyed it. Felt safe behind the bars of the porch late at night, while still enjoying the nightlife of the wildlife.
Everything we needed was in the house. Lots of animals around the house.
Certain aspects need attention. There are 3 buttons suspended on gas stove. 2 plates plus oven knobs were off. Advertisement shows swimming pool and two days before our visit we are informed that swimming pool is unusable due to a leak Loose bricks in paving can cause one to trip. When we arrived at 3 o'clock, cleaner had not finished yet. Also had to wait for the bathroom because she got dressed first.
Our aunt and uncle enjoyed it very much. First time just like at Marloth. We usually camp or sleep in the rondavels in the wildlife park. Just one unpleasant incident. A few days after we left for home, someone let us know that the maid was missing a spare mat that was behind some hanging cabinet. We definitely didn't take the mat.
Butterfly House is very well maintained and Mariaan was always available for any questions. We had many animals at home and our stay was absolutely fantastic. We just booked an extra day. We would definitely recommend Butterfly House and stay there again.

Very neat and comfortable. Friendly hostess. Quiet and aside. Saw many animals. The warthogs are like domestic animals. Just lie under the tree and wait for a pill to come their way. Thank you very much for letting us use your house. Everything one needs was there for us to use. Sommer had many regular visitors. Kudus, blue wildebeest, zebras, many bushbucks, grebes, banded mouse dogs and warthogs. Blue monkeys also made their appearance. Every day the blue-crested loon, green-winged dove, black-headed vole and many more birds were heard and seen. In the evening the African night owl, lions etc heard. Was also lucky to see lions and herds of elephants in the river course. Many giraffes and Njalas seen in the park itself. A wonderful place where we could stretch out and be peaceful and simply enjoy the forest. Thanks again Mariaan for your hospitality. Would love to use your place again in the future.

If you like the forest, then this is the right place, you can relax.
Many animals around the house and Kruger National Park is only about 28 km from here. The wildlife park is a beautiful setting.
Enjoyed it every morning and late afternoon with the roebucks, kudus, zebras, bushbucks, ibex, warthog and also the mouse dogs that were seen near the house. The animals are very tame and trust you by approaching - we regretted not having hay or game pellets beforehand to feed them. Available from hardware store in Marlothpark.
A very neat place. Apart from all the rules and regulations that are laid down, after you pay the full amount, it's a very nice place. We were 6 people, could not barbecue, because of the rules of noise. We were too scared to speak loudly, but enjoyed the time.

Butterfly House is a well-equipped house that meets your needs. The sheltered patio gives you a better sense of security and the animals (kudus, warthogs, wildebeest and nyalas) that come to visit right on the front porch make it all worthwhile. We had a lovely stay. Marloth Park was without water for a while, but it is beyond the owner's control. May be meaningful to link the JOJO tank to the home water unit if it is a regular phenomenon.

The entire process of booking went smoothly and was handled in a professional manner. The house and the location are something from another world and we were pleasantly surprised. Apart from cleanliness, the house is fully equipped with everything you might need, even a coffee machine! Upon our arrival, we were also welcomed there by phone. A variety of animal species arrived at the house. The house is also close to the Kruger National Park border and we heard the roar of lions several nights. Then there is also the lookout point where you should feel free to take a look. It was our first visit there and certainly not the last.

It is nice and private, but there are lots of animals that check in. The setup of Butterfly House is wonderful. You can chill undercover and braai or you can socialise in the open and braai. You can't ask for better than Butterfly House at this price. Located in the beautiful and unspoilt Marloth Park, minutes from the Kruger Game Reserve, this is the ideal place to sleep over while you explore the game park and other attractions in the area. It is spacious and tidy with all the essentials, a lovely large veranda and wild animals that come to say hello. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
A little gem of a place in the tranquility of nature. I really like the big table on the porch we played board games on it until late at night. The domesticated animals come to the front porch. Cool off in the splash pool. Slept wonderfully in the rooms with air conditioning. Everything was nice and fantastic.

Please note that we are in a residential area and we have a strict no noise policy. Marloth Park is not a party venue. Guests are requested to honour the tranquility of the environment at all times. No parties, loud music/any music, noise are allowed on the premises. We respect the rights of our neighbours. NO SMOKING IN THE HOUSEPlease abide the rules of the house and be aware that should you may continue to transgress them after having been duly warned, you may be evicted from the house without refund of any payments.
A R500 refundable deposit will be levied. The deposit will only be refunded on condition that the house is left in an acceptable condition (washing of dishes included), with no damage to the venue, cutlery, crockery, linen and furniture.
No pets are allowed in Marloth Park.
Guests need to provide their own swimming towels, DStv decoder and smart card.
