Nice stay, but Hondeklip Bay is out of reach for the average traveller. Roads are quite rough.

Plekkie is nice but the tent part needs some upgrading for sure. The door cannot be locked from the inside at all, we were also received kindly and everything was clean and tidy.
André was very helpful and made our stay very memorable.
We were well welcomed and immediately felt at home. The place is spacious, clean and tidy with everything you need. We were happy for the indoor barbecue as it was a bit chilly outside. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and also the beautiful coastline. Very safe.

We loved every moment and wanted to stay 10 days longer but unfortunately the accommodation was booked so we had to leave. Highly recommend it. You can see the ocean from the deck and I spent many hours relaxing on the deck. Perfect place to recover, recharge and relax. You can walk for kilometres on the beaches/tracks. Just bring own food/drink as no shops or eat at Die Rooi Spinnekop. Owner is very friendly and accommodating and we would love to return for more rest and relaxation! Dogs were welcomed and the resident kudu tolerated my girls! And he visited daily to check on them. Loved the indoor/outdoor braai facilities. House is stocked with everything and more - just bring food. Bring own water - glad we did as serious water shortage and no/limited cellphone reception which I loved!

We had everything we needed. Host offered use of her own washing machine and dryer. Had a pleasant three nights.
By the Bay is by the beach, nicely located and safe. Neat place to stay. We will go there again. We had a good rest, thank you.

Kitchen was very poorly equipped. Very disappointed that we were right on the sea with no view of the sea whatsoever. Very disappointed that we booked a room and were given the tented accommodation resulting in us having an extremely cold windy night. The only saving grace was the electric blanket!

We spent the night in the little apartment. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need. The sheltered braai area is a bonus. The decor is old but everything is clean and tidy. The owner is very friendly and hospitable and can tell you a lot about the area. Bring everything you may need, there is not a small shop or a garage on Hondeklip Bay.

The place is not modern at all, but clean with hot water and friendly people. Nice place to just unpack and rest or to look at flowers in Aug./Sep. and for December lobster season.
I would go there again anytime. The owner is a very pleasant person and makes you feel at home. Everything is neatly arranged and you have everything you need. It is just a stone's throw from the sea. You hear the sea all day.

This was our first visit to DogStoneBay! On our way to tackle the Namaqwa Camino of 262 km - that's why our stay was short-lived. The place was nice and clean (I would have preferred white bedding, but the water in the place probably makes it difficult) and everything needed was available. Andre is a nice host who is helpful with everything. Value for money - definitely.

Tastes differ, the fact that this accommodation is the closest to the sea without a sea view was disappointing for us. However, the apartment was very nice, neat and clean. We were also very well and kindly received by the owner. However, we will not use this accommodation again.

The following could earn extra stars: Remove the soap/glass container above the sink, your head hits it when you wash your face. The passage between the kitchen cupboard and bunk bed is very narrow and the power plugs against the cupboard make it worse. That one is mounted quite upside down! The power cable that goes over the floor can cause a person to fall. Move the cable and plugs to the window, cabinet or wall and earn another star.
