Place was an oasis in the hot Karoo with a swimming pool as a bonus where we could cool off and relax. We received friendly service from the Dalene and the area where the guest house is located is nice and quiet and safe. Can really recommend it.

We had a fantastic stay. Wonderful hosts. Such an awesome entertainment area complete with a huge dining room, kitchen, bar, and braai area all leading onto the pool area with the Karoo koppie as a backdrop. Walking distance to many really great restaurants as well as Gays Dairy.

Thank you very much for another wonderful visit. Our hostess received us kindly and arranged for a reservation at a local restaurant for dinner. We were informed that provision had been made for a gas stove and lights for load shedding and devices for the mosquitoes. It is hot at night in Prince Albert and screens in front of windows or doors can help a lot.

I had a very nice stay. The room was comfortable and I enjoyed sitting in the garden reading a book with my coffee. Dalene's communication was friendly and she explained me well where everything was.

Our hostess is amazing. She looked for us when we didn't show up on time. She even arranged a place at a restaurant. After our accident, she and her husband made us feel so at home, as if we were family. Their place is a loop court and we couldn't have landed in a better place after arriving at their place dead tired and sore. Definitely go there for a visit!

All was lovely - only suggestion for the owner would be if there was a softer option in pillow. Most establishments have two pillows either two softer pillows or one soft and one hard. This is just a suggestion as we found the pillow to high and hard (personal choice). We had a lovely stay and the pillows did not change my view, we will definitely come again.
Would recommend By-Die-Koppie anytime for overnight and longer holidays. The rooms are all stunning and so are the common areas (including the garden) - the pool was an added bonus in the heat!

After a long day in the mountains it was what one needed. Neat rooms with their own facilities and a beautifully appointed relaxation area.
We were received with warm Karoo hospitality and neat, clean rooms. The braai place was equipped with everything you need and there was even milk in the fridge.
We had a great time staying and visiting, wish we could have stayed longer.

The first thing we noticed when we arrived was how neat and clean it is. Theresa went out of her way to make us feel welcome and my little girl didn't keep her waiting to cool off in the pool. We walked to the Swartberg Hotel for dinner as it was close enough. Delicious biscuits together with coffee were left for us.
Thank you Dalene for your hospitality. It is a lovely destination and the perfect start to our holiday. It is peaceful, well furnished and the view of your hill at dusk just made it that much more special. Hope we see you again soon.

It was incredibly hot and windy on our visit. The pool was a godsend! Lovely well appointed rooms.
Got more than I expected.
Good location close to main street, but quiet and close to Swartberg Pass entrance to the most beautiful part of the pass. 2 rooms sharing the same bathroom, we were alone so no problem but would be uncomfortable sharing with unknown people. Had a wonderful evening and enjoyed the silence from late afternoon until morning.
We spent the night and rested wonderfully. Just a pity that due to circumstances beyond her control, we could not meet the friendly hostess. But she trusted us as strangers with all her keys. Thank you very much.

We toured the Klein Karoo and the Cape, and of all the places we stayed, By die Koppie was our favorite place to stay. Dalene not only welcomed us kindly, she saved us an unnecessary trip to the fig farm, because it is not fig season. Not a few minutes later she arranged for us figs and marmalades that we wanted to buy at the farm. The room is tasteful, neat and comfortable. The hanging out area was very nice and spent most of our time there. I don't want to go home. I long for By the Cup. Dalene also knows what is going on in her town and what is worth seeing/doing.
I made the reservation for the minister who married our son. The transaction was so easy and friendly. Dalene offered her help and later with personal communication made sure everything was perfect. She had no problem accommodating the minister before the check-in time. I will use them again anytime and if I have to stay myself, try By-Die-Koppie.
The place is beautiful, very neat and the owners are very hospitable. The rooms are wonderfully warm in the winter with the afternoon sun. Also a spacious reception area where we could barbecue and hang out. We will come back again and recommend others to stay there.

Had a great stay at Dalene and her husband's place. They could really not have done more for me. The accommodation was wonderful and very comfortable. Easy to walk to town from here.
Dalene is a fantastic hostess. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Only issue that may be a problem in the future is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms but with the fan provided it broke the worst of the heat. Believe in the winter months it will be an ideal place to stay.

Unit was perfect, but the only exception is poor ventilation. Unit is stuffy and hot with windows closed, but the mozzies carry you away if the door or windows are left open. Either way an exceptional experience.

We had a pleasant stay. The swimming pool and social area was a bonus in the heat. Air-conditioners in the rooms would have been nice, seeing as the fans didn't make much of a difference. Prince Albert is beautiful and definitely worth a visit.

Had a lot of sleep here! It's a beautiful guest house - the photos on the website don't do the place justice, because it's much more beautiful than in the photos! Aunt Dalene is lovely! You feel like family within seconds of arriving.

Well maintained guest house. Owners very hospitable. Lovely sitting area in living room. Warm accommodation that I would highly recommend. You immediately feel at home when you arrive there. The lack of vents in the bedrooms may be a problem for some guests. Leaving the outside door to the courtyard open for fresh air is not a good idea in my opinion. It's unsafe and takes away your privacy. However, for us it was not necessary. The problem may be solved by replacing some of the panes in the doors with louvre panels.
