Cadeau Hiking and Accommodation is a secluded spot in nature where guests can relax along the eastern part of the Tsitsikamma National Park.
Here nothing happens and it keeps happening for months on end. It is just nature and peace and quiet. Birdwatching is a favorite activity and guests can listen to the frogs' song while they enjoy the beautiful sunsets every evening.
Guests use Cadeau as a base from which to explore the activities in the area or you can simply come and rest here.
Please note that guests cannot go down to the hiking trails and swimming pools by themselves due to the limitations from San Parks. Only guided hikes are allowed at a fixed rate and it has to be booked ahead of time. Permission will be granted at no extra cost for guests who want to walk to the lookout point, 3 km away. You can also cycle for kilometers on end with your own mountain bike.
Cadeau has 5 permanent, dome tents under newly built shelters. Three of the tents feature a double bed and the other two has 2 single beds each. The beds in the tents feature bedding and linen, which are replaced every 5 days for long stay guests. The tents have one light inside and one under the roof.
Space can be made to accommodate a third person or children, but be aware that this will cause a tent to be more crowded.
Ablution facilities are near the tents and campsite and feature two bathrooms for everyone with 3, hot-water showers and 2 toilets in each.
There is also a relaxation hall with electricity that guests can use. It has a TV, pool table, table tennis and dart board that everyone may use. Here you can relax in front of a big fire with a glass of wine and a braai chop. The hall has a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, freezer and self-catering amenities. There is also a backpackers unit in the hall. Guests can also pitch their own tents and use these same facilities.

Short, but pleasant. The silence makes everything worthwhile.
The country air was very welcome. Braaiing there was a real treat. The place has history and the hosts have realistic plans for the future. For family types, it is really something else. The access road was in fair condition, not great but OK for the region (we know, having spent 2 months there en route to a new home in PE). The new puppies were expectedly boisterous but adorable.
Andries' hospitality speaks volumes! We felt like family when we stepped in. It was really an awesome experience and I would definitely recommend it!

What a beautiful piece of nature with friendly service, a neat place to sleep and delicious food to order. The recreation hall is comfortable and the delicious fires make it so cosy. Andries' pizzas are excellent value for money and nothing is too much trouble. Was really delicious.
Will definitely visit again - the owner and family are friendly, helpful and it's an absolutely beautiful place.
