The duplex apartment can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms upstairs, both of which contain a queen-size bed each; and a sleeping area with a single bed and a slide out one underneath, which is adjacent to the lounge downstairs. Both rooms and lounge area have amazing sea views and the main bedroom and lounge are fitted with air-conditioners while the second bedroom has a ceiling fan. The apartment is serviced by 2 bathrooms, 1 en-suite with a bath, and the other with a shower and a washing machine, as well as a separate guest toilet.

We were a family of 3 (with 2 puppies) and stayed for a week. The location is fantastic, and there is a long stretch of pristine beach right in front of the unit. The unit is well-equipped and had everything we needed during our stay. Communicating with the letting agent was effortless, and we received clear instructions before and during our stay. The complex is gated, but the front row of units is open to the beach; the unit has burglar bars, security gates, and an alarm system. There is a single lock-up garage, but large vehicles/double cab bakkies don't fit inside. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

We had a few minor issues with the security system, which was sorted out. Otherwise, the location is incredible, the house is furnished very well and so comfortable. Everything is stocked up, especially the kitchen. Knives, graters, and pots and pans are all in perfect condition, no damage from the humidity. Best part of the place is how close the beach is, and the views are great. We took our two dogs with and they loved it, just know you will have to keep them on a leash if they aren't trained or don't roam freely as there is no enclosed garden, and the beach is a few meters away.
There is also no place to dispose of the garbage bags. And the alarm doesn't work as said either. But otherwise very pleasant.

Everything you need is there and you can just take a few steps and you are on the beach. The perfect place if you don't want to drive around or have to carry everything with you on busy beaches. The beach, sea, rocks and walking area are just a few steps away from the braai and stoep.
Calamari 9 was truly a nice place to stay. It has 100% full sea view and is literally by the beach. I was very impressed with the accommodation and appreciated that we could take our two yorkies. We really enjoyed it and rested well. Thank you very much Calamari 9. I will definitely suggest and already plan to stay there again next year.

The beautiful view of the sea, which is literally on the front porch, was a wonderful experience! Mandy and her staff made our stay very pleasant. Very clean and tidy and everything needed was there. Will definitely vacation there again!
I would stay at Calamari 9 again, it was very neat, the view on the sea gives it that quiet peaceful feeling that you just want to stay there and not come back to real life.

Very peaceful atmosphere. Literally a few steps from the beach with the most beautiful green lawn between the apartment and the beach. Dassies hang out every day on the lawn in front of the apartment with a little blue diver that makes its appearance every now and then. Apartment is very well equipped. One of the nicest accommodations we've had on vacation.
Attention to detail is superb. We felt right at home as soon as we stepped in. Would recommend to any visitor and stay there again myself. Instead of stacked mattresses, replace them with a bunker bed. Air conditioning in the kitchen did not work well. The kitchen contains everything one needs in a self-catering unit. The view from this apartment is beautiful and sunsets and sunrises are beautiful. We certainly had a good time! See you next time.

Calamari 9 is located very close to a beautiful beach. It's ideal for a family with children as there is no need to pack a vehicle and drive to a beach, the beach is literally 30 m from the apartment.

We recommend Calamari 9 to anyone. It's beautiful, you're right on the beach, everything is neat and in working order. We would only like to have a domestic help on the weekend and holidays. It feels like we clean all day.
Calamari 9 is perfectly located, you can sit on the porch and watch the waves break, or walk a few steps to get your feet wet in the sea. The apartment is equipped with everything you need to bake and brew to your heart's content. Everything was clean and tidy and animal-friendly, so your best friend can come too! My elderly parents struggled a bit with the stairs between the living area and the bedrooms, but younger legs will be able to handle the ups and downs easily!

We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the unit and the facilities, with two bathrooms, separate toilet and fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dryer. The DStv, with the full package of programmes, was also a plus. Right on the beach, this unit offers plenty of privacy with natural woods preserved as windbreaks.
We had a great time, everything was just fantastic. We all enjoyed it so much until our two little ones. I highly recommend Calamari 9 and we would use the accommodation again anytime - was very awesome!

Dream vacation!
It's a very well equipped unit. Games for children, DStv and fully equipped kitchen. Very conveniently close to the sea. Very convenient for the older guard who would like to walk along the beach. All that's bad is that there are an awful lot of rocks, the children can't just splash here where the waves break, because you don't know where there are rocks everywhere. All that is bad is the parking. Especially if you own a Hyundai bus that is too high for the garage and there is no room for your trailers or a turnaround. One has to drive at the most sloping rear. But would recommend the unit to anyone who wants to live 50 yards from the sea sand/beach and where you can hear the waves breaking so clearly and who likes long walks along the sea. Picked up nice shells.
It's so nice because you have direct access to the beach.
Very nice stay, had everything we needed. It was so close to the beach, that one could quickly go to the beach, or quickly return home from the beach. Dogs enjoyed it so much, were safe, and with the other dogs there were no problems. Will book again.
The unit can be upgraded slightly with the shower door as well as kitchen cupboards fixed. Beds were comfortable however pillows very hard. Wonderful access to the beach and pet friendly.

It was a great holiday, Calamari 9 is a corner unit so no one moved past our apartment. It is right on the beach with the most beautiful view of the sea. There are badgers that came close to our porch and we enjoyed it immensely. Was able to see dolphins and a seal. The house is clean and tidy and comfortable. Everything you need is there. The aircon was nice and the full DStv a bonus. We have already booked our next holiday there will not go anywhere else it is now our holiday home. The beach was clean and nice and quiet. Beautiful!
The apartment is very well located, and very nicely kept clean. The apartment has all the necessities one should have in a kitchen. They provide you with towels, and soap in the bathrooms. The cleaning ladies are super friendly and very helpful, and clean very nicely.
The place was very nice, the people when we accidentally got the check-out date wrong were very incompetent and didn't even offer us another accommodation. We drove 12 hours back home at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
The view is spectacular and easy access, plus fishing is a bonus.

What a lovely holiday at one of the best self-catering units we have ever stayed at. We had a great stay in Calamari 9 and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a quiet beach without the crowds. The unit is fully equipped and one can see that effort has been made to make you feel at home away from home, absolutely nothing was missing and the barbecue area is lovely with a beautiful view of the sea and the beach which is literally on your doorstep, especially with teenagers who want to go to the sea and back shortly. I would book it again anytime, good value for money, well located near the other main beaches, safe and very quiet.

Thank you very much for allowing us to use Calamari 9. The place was clean and tidy upon our arrival. Everything you need is there and you just feel safe with the alarm system that is there. It was really very pleasant to sit on the porch and look out over the sea while the meat was on the grill. I would definitely recommend the place.
We had a lovely stay in Calamari 9 and I will definitely book it again. The decor and interior are beautiful and there are more than enough kitchenware and nice chairs. It was nice to be able to do laundry there, I would have preferred a tumble dryer over a dishwasher as the high humidity means towels don't always dry. The braai place is also lovely with a view of the sea.
Wonderful self-catering units right on the beach! This was the second time we stayed at the Calamari flats and as before we had a great stay. Dog friendly on arrangement, which was wonderful for us. The sea is just a few meters from the front patios over a well kept lawn. Would recommend to anyone wanting a secluded spot to relax away from the main hustle and bustle but also close enough to walk across the beach to Ramsgate's main beach or Margate beach. Will definitely be back.
It is the most well thought-out place we have ever stayed. The attention given to the kitchen/cooking equipment and beach equipment - you don't need to take anything with.
Calamari 9 is a very comfortable apartment. Very well equipped with everything you could need. Clean and neat bedding and decent pillows (which is usually a problem for us). Very nice to be so close to the beach and to be able to enjoy the beautiful ocean view.

It's truly the neatest place I've ever been. The view and the proximity of the sea are convenient with small children who want to go up and down the beach all day. And with the fact that I take my dog everywhere with me it was so convenient and it is appreciated that there are holiday homes that allow this. Will definitely want to visit again.
