Yes, thank you very much, lovely quiet and good service.
The stay was excellent as usual. All the meals were very good.
Wonderful stay in nature.
Good service and top notch food.
Welcoming hospitality, a wonderful place to stay and to relax.
Perfect place to sleep.
Pleasant and relaxing. Friendly staff and lovely host.
Everything you need and the most delicious meal. Very friendly and helpful reception. Nice quiet Karoo farm atmosphere.
Comfortable unit. Nice environment. We especially enjoyed the corner bath which looks out onto the beautiful nature in the picture with all the animals walking by. The food was absolutely delicious. Friendly staff. We and the children really enjoyed it.
We had a very nice stay. Very peaceful and customer service is very good. Food was delicious! Would definitely recommend it.
Camp Nguni was a great surprise and a must for anyone looking for open spaces. The view and animals at the watering hole on your front porch are amazing! The service is fantastic. Clean and tidy accommodation. Very friendly and helpful. We will go again for sure.
This place will definitely see me again. It's easy to get there from N1. It's wonderfully quiet and the animals are sometimes close to the rondavels. They serve dinner and breakfast.
Camp Nguni is a very special place!
Staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. Nice to look at the animals at the watering hole. Most delicious farm food in the evening and good breakfast in the morning. Enjoyed it a lot.
We really enjoyed our stay at the camp. We were able to relax and truly become one with nature. The food and hospitality were amazing. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Our son enjoyed interacting with the animals and the quiet atmosphere. This is truly a hidden germ and we will surely visit again.
Camp Nguni is luxurious, the people are friendly and the breakfast and dinner excellent! Many thanks to our hostess for the friendly service. The rhino, giraffe, sables, zebras and blue wildebeest were definitely a bonus. We could quietly watch the animals at the watering hole with a glass of wine in hand. Will definitely return.
We had a wonderful and comfortable stay at Camp Nguni. The staff was friendly and helpful. Seeing wildlife a few meters away while having a sundowner was very special.
The accommodation and the facilities are excellent and would recommend you to sleep there if you have a long drive, such as for example from Johannesburg to Cape Town. Their food and drinks are great and affordable.
We had a great time. The silence and surroundings are so precious. The service of Carin, hostess, and Andrew, the cook, was excellent. Was like visiting with friends.
Had a great time. In the morning there was unfortunately no water in the units, but it was not a big problem as there was a swimming pool for scooping water!
Staff very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again.
Helpful staff, delicious dinner and pretty setting in nature. Great animal & bird sightings.
Amazing place, immaculately clean and excellent food. Nice accommodation, friendly service.
We enjoyed our stay at Camp Nguni. The staff were very accommodating and the location is stunning. The only criticism I have is that they could pay more attention to detail.
Comfortable beds, great food and hospitality by Hastings was excellent.
Andrew received us kindly. Was very nice not to be among many people. Enjoyed the rhino. Food was delicious. Maybe just put more hanging space for clothes in chalet.
Particular accommodation. A little more expensive than other places but absolutely worth it. Sat quietly in the afternoon drinking coffee while we watched the zebras and giraffe come to eat. Everything was fantastic. Rooms neat and perfect. Will definitely pay for it again. It's not just a sleepover, but an experience!
It was nice being there, there're animals along the route to the camp which is exciting.
Nice stopover on the way to the Cape. Services were delivered despite load shedding. Lovely atmosphere. We were pleasantly surprised.
Lovely home cooked meal.
Most beautiful and hospitable place! A very special place indeed! Everyone is so friendly and it's so nice and clean! We always enjoy our sleepover incredibly much! And have recommended it to many people who have also slept on it and enjoyed it as much as we did! Will stay there again if we go to the Cape or come back! It truly is a jewel in the Karoo and we thank our dear Father for all the rain, the Karoo is grass green and beautiful it was there 4 years ago when they were in the severe drought! The Karoo is a treat for the eyes after all the rain!
We were very happy with our stay at Camp Nguni. Our accommodation was very comfortable. Location gorgeous. Food was delicious home cooked meals and the staff went out of their way to make our stay extra comfortable. A lovely place for a night or two stop over en route to your holiday destination. I highly recommend it.
Lots of leaks.
We love this place. Clean and a beautiful view.
Rainy weather kept us hanging out by the fireplace all day. Wonderfully cozy.
Carin spares no effort to make her guests feel at home. The dinner served by herself was five star. And then the absolute bonus of animals literally on the doorstep: white rhino, giraffe, sable, blue wildebeest, etc.
A delightful stay with warm hospitality and efficiency. The host went out of her way to make us feel comfortable.
A bonus was seeing the local rhino, Dollie, late at night who came to eat by the water - admittedly fed. Feed comes from drought time.
It was a nice half way stop. Very friendly reception. Delicious food!
The Karoo was beautifully green after good rain.
Very good reception and friendly staff. The facilities are good and the breakfast was delicious.
See stars.
The camp is beautiful - quite a way off the road (20km), and we missed the turn which was my fault. Everything was lovely and clean, the only downside was load shedding made it awkward to get around the chalet and the water was cold. Cannot blame the establishment for that!
See stars.
We only stayed one night, arrived late, received with hospitality, thank you.
Staff were very friendly and the dinner was wonderful.
A wonderful place to stop and relax.
Carin received us very hospitably. Our room was very good and comfortable. The food was top notch.
Will definitely visit Camp Nguni again.
It was a wonderful experience. The breakfast was very tasty, the animals beautiful, the view and silence peaceful. If you've always wanted to get close to a rhino or giraffe, this is your chance. Frieda and Johnnie were excellent host and wife. I would definitely recommend it. Victoria West is also nice and close for a fishing trip. Feel free to drop by the Karoo deli and Art Deco theatre.
Will spend my time there again anytime.
Amazing place and people. Ideally located between Pretoria and the Cape, Camp Nguni is in the perfect spot: not too far from the road, but far enough that you don't hear the traffic. Incredibly beautiful with beautiful wildlife and views. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was real farm food and was delicious. Will definitely go back, and recommend to everyone. Perfect for families or individuals. Was definitely a highlight of our 'road trip'!
Camp Nguni was a wonderful experience for our family. I have never sat so close to a wild rhino while drinking a glass of wine before a festive meal. After dinner you can stargaze, it's beautiful, you can see the milky way. Rondavels are neat with everything you need. Carin and MD are incredibly hospitable and you immediately feel at home. This is the best stopover between CA and JHB, think we will even rest for a weekend at Camp Nguni.
Beautiful in nature and Karen and Hubby's hospitality deserves a gold medal!
Camp Nguni left us in awe! The wild animals, the beautiful stars, the tranquility of the Karoo and the fantastic stay with MD, Carin, Emile and Esmé as our hosts! We recommend Camp Nguni with great confidence!
Don't miss out! Awesome experience that you will be talking about for many years to come. Great service and the cottages are very clean and wonderful to stay in. Will definitely come back!
We enjoyed it very much. The food was incredibly delicious and we sat as a family every night and looked at the stars, the sky was beautiful and we could see thousands of stars. The people there are very friendly and happy to help.
The directions on how to get to the farm were not very clear. We were travelling along the N12 (Victoria West) and the directions were most confusing - these should really be revised.
Amazing place, with the most hospitable hostess ever. We were spoiled with the most delicious food. It was cold and the fireplace burned from early to late. The animals that come to eat and drink water while you sit in front of the fireplace are wonderful. Highly recommend Camp Nguni! It was a wonderful 2 pampering days!
It was lovely to meet the kind faces at Camp Nguni, really made us feel at home.
The game on the farm is the highlight. Dinner is highly recommended. Carin is an excellent host!
Fantastic dinner. Neat and clean rondavel. Upon our arrival we were warmly welcomed and received friendly service. The facilities are more than adequate and the dinner was delicious. Many thanks to the owners and staff.
It's a wonderful place. If you want to be close to wildlife and nature then this is the place for you. The food was some of the best yet. I will go back again for sure.
The description of Camp Nguni reads there is an on-site chef preparing traditional meals - we had pasta that was not properly warmed and had to be re-heated. There was no starter nor dessert. Pasta is certainly NOT traditional Karoo fare! The breakfast was nothing like shown on the varoius websites and the only wine available was Tall Horse which is a very ordinary, cheap wine. The Camp is an ideal stopping location between Cape Town and Johannesburg so it was indeed disappointing. Esme who was running the Camp was very pleasant, but after we had left she SMS 'd us that our final account was incorrect. A sad experience as the destination should/could be on our ''places to return list''.
The food was off the books, and the service was just as good. Friendly staff and the owner also very pleasant stay.
We really enjoyed the animals that came to drink water.
The tame game gave us pleasure. The lodge needs renovation. Alcoholic beverages may not be brought in but then there is not a variety of wine to choose from. The bathroom definitely needs attention.
Delicious dinner and breakfast!
Chalet no. 2 have no venters - we couldn't even look out for the animals! There are no braai facilities. The chalet does not have a microwave to heat anything. Nowhere was there any information that meals should be eaten there.
Inattentive to dietary requirements. Cost of meals and accommodation not reasonable. Accommodation facilities sub-standard. Information on website misleading.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the room was tidy.
I would recommend Camp Nguni to everyone. A beautiful experience. Absolutely soul food.
Another Karoo gem. One's people! Animals people! Recommended!
My only comment would be that the rooms are hot and stuffy at night as there is no fan or aircon. I eventually opened the door to get some fresh cool air - not ideal in the middle of a game farm.
You may not take any liquor of your own. The pool is empty. Lots of flies. There is no security and the 4 of us are left alone on the farm. There were no other guests either. I booked 1 chalet for 4 people. When we got there, my son and daughter were put in a room alone. There was not enough water in the faucets to shower. I booked 3 nights but only stayed 1. We went to another place to stay in Richmond.
I actually don't want to share this place with other people - I just want to keep it to myself! Rest for the soul! Pleasant, people-people who do not hesitate to exceed your expectations. Dinner consists of cooked farm food such as scented rooibok leg, tasty chicken pie and nostalgic wheat salad and malva pudding that you can eat with the eye!
Incredible hospitality, environment (despite severe drought) food and wildlife. Some of the best places we've ever discovered in SA.
It was an experience that one cannot describe. Beautiful place and excellent service. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Camp Nguni really went out of their way to accompany us and we really felt at home. The rooms and service are top notch, would definitely recommend it to anyone, if you haven't been there yet, feel free to stop by, you don't know what you're missing. Quite an experience. And Dollie is just an experience that everyone should go and see, she is beautiful with the most beautiful nature, you just love her as soon as you walk in. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness, we really appreciated it. People so close to our heart, genuine people. We will definitely visit again.
Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and wonderful host.
Awesome place, love it, will go again, thank you guys!
Really had such a lovely night at Camp Nguni.
We are more than satisfied with our choice to spend the night here on our way to the Cape. Rest and silence and animals at the drinking place, a nice bar and huge, delicious dinner make the place a part of the adventure that I highly recommend. Also not too far from the main road, I think about 16 km.
Best food ever! Service was great. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Soane, you're a star! Thanks for all your help. Would definitely recommend this gem overnight camp.
Wonderful lodge! Everyone is incredibly hospitable and food was top notch! We will definitely visit again!
See stars.
We had car troubles and the hosts went out of their way to assist us and accommodate us. The food was delicious, the view, with all the wild animals always makes it worth the while, and it always leaves you thankful.
Never before have I been so close to such a high concentration of exotic wildlife. It's really worth visiting this place. It was slightly unusual in terms of meals - only breakfast and dinner and not a menu ─ so this is the day you get and pay for. It's not self-catering, so take snacks for lunch. The town is far.
After the long, dry road it was lovely to see greenery again and to be so warmly received by Andrew. We had so much fun talking to him and thoroughly enjoyed his delicious food, especially the springbok fillet, not to mention the delicious breakfast the next morning. He and his team can only make food. We enjoyed watching the wildlife (with a nice drink also provided by Andrew). Really a beautiful place and everything is just right. Coffee and tea in rooms, nice shower, nice big bed and the most beautiful stars in the sky. We enjoyed the wildlife's feeding time, especially for the rhino who just wants to push over the poles ─ simply named him/her Jolly Molly. Really a peaceful place that we would use again if we had the chance. Just wanted to mention that Andrew's boss can be rightly proud of him.
Quite remote, but pleasant, with good game viewing and star gazing.
Good value for money, will definitely make this a regular stop on the way to the Cape.
Friendly welcome and would always go back. Clean, neat, peaceful, unbelievable.
Eienaars regtig uit hul pad gegaan om als gemaklik te maak volgens ons vereistes. Regtig die plek waar jy wil oorbly vanaf Pretoria na Kaapstad! Definitief ons oorslaapplek. Dankie weereens!
Incredible hospitality and environment, top service.
It was a great pleasure for us to be so close to the wildlife and especially the rhinoceros. Unforgettable experience.
The place is honestly fantastic and we can't wait to go back.
Our stay at Camp Nguni is a must if you want to experience the Karoo atmosphere in luxury. The whole complex is clean, neat, private and offers a relaxed atmosphere where one can experience the uniqueness of the Karoo. The water hole and feeding spot in front of the entertainment deck offers opportunity to view the game in their natural habitat. The dining room / bar / entertainment area is separate and cosy with a layout that contributes ot the Karoo atmosphere. Meals are excellent and professionally served. The chalets are private with views of typical Karoo landscape. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Value for money accommodation. I recommend this undiscovered camp to any nature enthusiast.
It is by far the best holiday we have ever had. Will want to spend every day there. Awesome place, awesome people.
What a privilege to have ended off our holiday in Botswana at Camp Nguni! Wonderful location, rooms are neat en well equipped. The host, Carin is always available and goes out of her way for everyone. The service was excellent, staff and management was always available to help everything in the area is picturesque. The breakfast and dinner was delicious and the bar has a good variety of drinks. We can't wait to visit again - the surrounding nature and area is very special!
This was an incredible experience! It was probably the best place we have ever stayed in!
Their meals are some of the best and definitely value for money. The family unit is awesome, clean, spacious and really very very beautiful. All other facilities are very well maintained, clean and cared for. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Karen and her husband go out of their way to make you feel at home and with their warm hearts it is a pleasure to stay there.
We drive in the heat of December and all we see is the disturbing barren black bushes of the Karoo. We turn down to our overnight farm. We are welcomed by a giraffe! When we got off it immediately felt like an oasis! Friendly reception, welcome green grass, lovely seats to enjoy a cool drink first and watch the rhinoceros, giraffes, zebras and many other game species get their food here in front of us. The dinner was top notch for sure...looking like masterchef...and tasting njammies. Our thatched cottage with its view over the field is beautiful and peaceful. Inside it is nicely furnished with a lovely king size bed and quality bedding. Coffee in front of our little house on comfortable chairs and staring at the field... What makes this place extra special? For sure the people. They are so enthusiastic, willing and full of smiles and bubbly. It's now a beautiful example of a farmer who after 4 years of waiting, hopes it will rain "tomorrow" and until then, they profit with what they can offer to tourists, and they do it with pride and care. We take our hats off to such people, well done you all, keep up the good work and may you be richly blessed with streams of water. All of you together are a winning recipe.
The food and service were wonderful and the terribly beautiful with them. A must see for sure.
Very comfortable stay and great service
The karoo is full of surprises. Camp Nguni's location is perfect. What a gem! Would have loved to stay much longer.
Very friendly hospitable reception. Meals delicious.
I never thought places like these existed. It so peaceful, one just connects with nature.
Ek was baie aangenaam verras met die hele opset! Ontsettend lekker en mooi daar!
It was incredibly fun, a great experience, top notch!
Amazing views with rhinos and giraffe!
Excellent place! Special view of the field and animals! Very nice food! Very good service! We will definitely go there again!
On the way from Sedgefield back home in the Northern Cape it was a wonderful half-way break and overnight stay. Andrew and Ellias have done everything in their power to make us feel comfortable and at home. They were excellent hosts. The food was very tasty and neatly served. The rooms were immaculate and crisp and clean. We saw so many different wildlife at the water and it was just breathtaking and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, guests had an unnecessary problem with the gates, as we went through the same gates without any problems. It is definitely five-star accommodation and we enjoyed it immensely. Many thanks again to Andrew and Ellias, very helpful and friendly, and have done their job well.
Even though we only stayed there 1 night, I can definitely recommend them to anyone who needs accommodation in that area. The people were friendly and made me feel at home immediately. The best was the dinner we enjoyed.
A very nice place to visit. Well cared for and a sense of belonging. Will definitely visit again when opportunity arises.
See stars.
Surprisingly peaceful and with delicious meals.
What an absolutely fantastic experience to spend 2 days with Lida and her team at Camp Nguni. Nature, rain, wild animals that come so close you can almost touch them. The best food. We would definitely take the turn off at Victoria West and drive the few km to spend the night there again. Thank you for spoiling us with hospitality and friendliness.
Truly a piece of paradise in the middle of nowhere. Relaxed atmosphere. Dinner was delicious but a bit expensive. Will definitely visit again.
Value for your money! Beautiful place!

You will look far for better and friendlier service. The wildlife that comes to say hello in the late afternoon is a bonus. Thank you Lida, for your extra effort to make it very special for us.
We had a great time and the service was great. The animals were beautiful. All I would change is that the baths never get cold so you can be in the bath for a long time and watch the animals. See you again soon!
We had a hospitable reception and the food was excellent! Neat and comfortable accommodation. Camp Nguni will be our regular stopover on any of our journeys!
People, if you love nature I will tell you: stop there and see for yourself! The people are so nice and welcome you with open arms. From now on I stop there to sleep over on my way to the Cape.
Camp Nguni is a lovely place with the wildlife practically eating and drinking on your doorstep. The atmosphere is peaceful and the staff friendly. It was a wonderful experience for the children.
Friendly, relaxing, excellent food and service, wonderful to experience the "wild" animals so close by.
See stars.
The place is a little far out and we wondered if we are on the right road, but is was wonderful. And the food was delicious! With my food allergies it is normally a struggle at places like this, but we were catered for. Thank you very much Lida Hanekom, you are amazing! We will definitely stay in the Bundu chalet again, it was stunning. The animals - WOW!
We slept there for two nights and it was just enough to do everything. The camp is still in its early years and we wish them all the best.
Great great service! Thank you Lida for you and your team! Incredibly beautiful and value for money.
It was a wonderful experience for us, the animals' gathering at the water hole was one of the most special moments of wildlife watching in our lifetime. Accommodation experience was also good, but it was very hot. Food was also value for money.
What a fantastic experience to stay at Camp Nguni! Wild animals only a few meters away from you. Beautiful place, beautiful chalets - clean, tidy. Carin is definitely an asset to the place. She goes out of her way to help and make you feel at home. Only catch: the website says it's self-catering. It certainly isn't! You MUST eat there and may not bring your own liquor. The GPS location is also wrong. If the owner can fix this that would be great. Camp Nguni is definitely on our overnight stay list in the future. The dinner/breakfast is not included in the price and we had to pay extra for it. But the dinner was unsurpassedly prepared - worth it!
Fantastic! Nice in-the-woods experience. Carin is a fantastic hostess. Would definitely recommend it.
Camp Nguni was a very nice destination to end our holiday with. The service was fantastic and the facilities excellent.
