Cape St Francis Resort

The resort is privately owned and family-run and offers a choice of luxury beach villas set on the edge of the dunes, or cottages with sea- and garden-facing rooms. With a private swimming pool and direct beach access, the villas are the ideal choice when looking for a beach destination. The cottages are ideal for families and are a mere 300 m from the beach entrance. These cottages are tastefully decorated and have a strong beach theme and offer a fully equipped kitchen for those who wish to self-cater. The 1 or 2-bedroom apartments offer affordable accommodation set around a communal swimming pool and have all the facilities associated with a standard hotel room.
Facilities at the Resort include Joe Fish Restaurant and Bar, Full Stop Café, a Health and Beauty Studio as well as a convenience shop. There are braai facilities available for guests' use.
The area is rich in activities such as walking and hiking, golf, surfing, cultural excursions, whale and dolphin excursions, visits to the Seal Point lighthouse, and canal and river cruises. Any of these can be booked through the front desk at Resort Adventures.

59 guests' feedback1st time in the area so there was lots to learn and explore. Was a comfortable stay.
The top floor and the bathroom roof don't go all the way to the ceiling, so it's a bit "awkward", but otherwise everything is very nice clean and well equipped.
Perfect for our requirements.
Downstairs shower needs a good scrub. Mildew and musty smell. There was a dirty pan and utensils in the kitchen, as well. Birds are living in the ceiling and there is a loose board or sheet which flaps terribly with strong wind.
It was a wonderful holiday.
The resort is very well managed and is safe. Can be a bit noisy so it's definitely more of a family holiday than a romantic getaway.
Really enjoyed the beach access and beautiful beach ideal for long walks.
We enjoyed our visit very much. The restaurant on site is a bonus. Short walk to the beach, but have to drive to the swimming beach. We will definitely visit again!
Cleaners were a bit disappointing.
We were looking for overnight accommodation and decided on St Francis. St Francis is beautiful and the location is perfect. Unfortunately, the unit we were given was incredibly dirty and not sanitized. So I can't give any stars for cleanliness. I could not bathe the children as the bath's enamel was peeling off. The cobwebs and dust accumulated in every nook and cranny. The roof in one room was leaking terribly after all the rain throughout the night and the next morning it was pouring in properly. I would definitely go to St Francis again, but not stay in one of the units again. The fact that we were allowed to enter the unit without being thoroughly cleaned or disinfected with the Covid pandemic is terrifying.
If I can suggest something: remove the plug from the bath, because if it is there people will use the bath and not save water. Try to make a stand for prams, because sometimes 3 of the prams park next to each other and it takes the place of 2 vehicles.
The WiFi internet service is very poor, actually unusable slowly.
We had a great stay and the apartment met all our needs. What really messed up was that DSTV channel 201 was advertised as available, but channel 202 only for sports was available. On arrival there was a notice (only at the restaurant's entrance) that the restaurant (Joe Fish) was not open to guests as it was being used (for 2 days!) for a function. Immediately, our convenience of the on-site restaurant was taken away, as was the use of that pool as well as the bar facilities. There was no breakfast room available for the two days, everything was taken away without announcement and/or rate reduction.
Always lovely to stay here. The semi private beach is a cherry on top!
Although our time was very short and we wanted to stay longer we enjoyed it. Especially the Canal Cruise at sunset was impressive!
The house was nice and sleeping space was enough, but the house is not at all suitable for 8 people in terms of space in the kitchen and living area, especially with small children when the weather is bad. The reception there is very bad. For people who want to cook, the kitchen is more of a kitchenette with limited cooking facilities and you cannot swim at the swimming beach because of rip currents.
Cape St Francis Resort, was absolutely amazing, it was exceptionally clean, all the staff is helpful especially Gregg our host, amazing location. Do not hesitate to choose Cape St Francis Resort as your accommodation of choice! We will be definitely be back!

This resort is the example of what a world class resort should look like.
We enjoyed our stay and we are definitely going back. Nice beach and the restaurant was nice with friendly staff.
Need a mirror in the sleeping area near the power point. Would recommend and stay there again.
The spacious 3-bedroom house was beautiful & clean with a cozy outdoor barbecue. It is walking distance to the sea. The resort offers good facilities such as a restaurant, spa & swimming pools.
The stay was pleasant, the overall impression of the resort too. Clean and tidy.
Great accommodation for families with younger children. Safe with plenty to do or just rest. Would love a washing machine in the unit itself, especially with lots of kids and if you want to stay longer than a week.
We only stayed one night and decided that next time we will visit longer. The resort is quite densely populated but out of season it is not overly busy. It was nice to walk through the resort and follow the path to the beach. The unit we were booked into was well appointed with a nice large bathroom. Only had a problem using the kettle in the kitchen as I couldn't locate a power plug nearby. Had to plug the boiler near the balcony. There was bottled water for us which we really appreciated.
We had a wonderful, restful few days at Cape St Francis Resort.
We had a very comfortable stay and were pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the host was to allow us to be 5 people (because of our tiny 5 yr old son) even though unit was for 4 people.
We have booked our children's wedding night at your resort and hereby say thank you very much for the neat and clean unit and your friendly service. They will definitely recommend you to their friends. This is the second time we have used your services. Our daughter got married at your resort on 16 November 2015 and the family spent the night there. We can only speak highly of your resort and services. Thank you very much.
We enjoyed it very much. Nice and safe for children to ride a bike and 200 meters walk from the beach. Comfortable with everything needed. We received excellent service.
Perhaps it can only be clearly stated in advance that this accommodation is in one large house, which you share with strangers. So the room right next to you in the house is also available to others. You also share a kitchen and living room, as well as grass and swimming pool. Good for families but not for romantic getaways.
The experience was okay, but the front desk is extremely disorganized. This chimes with many other reviews I checked out. Pity, as it is a nice resort overall.
Stay was nice, service at restaurant just poor and food is terribly salty.
Close to the beach - footpath. A lot to do in the area - brochures provided in room. Clean and neat unit with heater and enough blankets.
Great location. Excellent service. Not many meal options.
Units are a bit far from the ocean. The unit didn't really have a very clean smell. And the chairs in the sitting room didn't seem to be very clean. The double bed duvet and cover weren't up to standard. Wet and used towels not removed from the bathroom by the cleaning staff.
I felt so comfortable because I knew exactly where to go and the staff at the reception were very friendly. Everything was neat and perfect!
A great place. Nice view, good food and a relaxing atmosphere.
Staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Accommodation clean, neat and everything one could wish for for an overnight stay.
It was very nice to be happy. Resort and very nice and clean. Restaurant's food is very good value for money.
The unit was a bit cramped. The fact that there is a reasonably good restaurant on site is a plus.
Not necessary variation for food, especially not for gluten intolerance. Curtains fell down when we tried to open them. Furthermore, everything is in good condition. Staff did not give good directions on where to find the unit. We searched for half an hour. No one told us how it works.
Will never go back this resort, there are too many units for this space. When we got there the drains were blocked and two days later (after it was cleared) it was blocked again. Not very pleasant when you wake up at night with the sink and bathroom bubbling up water all the time. We left a day earlier and will never go back. We used to camp there, used some of the units over the past 30 odd years and it is very sad to see it lose everything that Cape St Francis was known for!
Quiet, relaxing and best place to eat. Will stay there again.
Location is perfect for the area and the stay was really good. Will definitely recommend it to other people, and will go through again in April break and get a place closer to the sea. Excellent service! The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Had a wonderful stay. Quiet and very safe. Children really enjoyed the pool and beach. Things that bothered were few but if I can suggest something is that they put blinds or curtains in front of the small windows. The sun rises very early and rushes you out of bed early. Braai facilities can also improve. For such a lovely place, I don't want to barbecue on the ground. The location is wonderfully quiet. Really enjoyed it!
Good value for money. A lovely beach.
The resort is super. The stay was okay, except for a few things that need a bit of attention. The receptionist needs to be taken to a hospitality course or training and a few hiccups need to be taken into consideration. Thanks again to TravelGround for excellent service.
This cheaper accommodation at Cape St Francis Resort has only the essentials. We used to stay in the same hostel, but more attention is currently being paid to the more expensive accommodation and the Backpackers have declined a bit.

We had a wonderful holiday. Very good value for money. Beautiful resort. We will definitely visit again and again. Thank you very much for a wonderful time.
We enjoyed our stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Place was clean and beautiful.
Our stay at CSF Resort was wonderful and the setting is beautiful. I think that they can pay attention to the sofa bed that was in our 'little house'. Furthermore, I would also like to advise them to save water and energy by putting a note in the bathroom, as in other holiday places and hotels, that if you want to wash the towels, you must throw them in the bath. They replaced our 5 towels every day which is 'nice' but unnecessary. In the 10 days, they e.g. 50 towels just from our wash and tumble dry instead of e.g. 10 if they did replace it every 5 days. It can save water and for their soap, labor and electricity. Furthermore, Lekke slaap's WEB HOME is a wonderful consumer friendly web home - thank you very much!
Very neat facility in a beautiful and green environment.
Had a very enjoyable stay with only one negative. The restaurant opposite had a live music evening that was VERY loud until after midnight.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, in spite of bad weather.
The accommodation was great - toilet however broke
