An unobstructed view of the ocean and waves breaking on the rocks, literally meters away. Communication with the host was efficient and I feel the host went above and beyond for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lamberts Bay.
I just felt at home, everything was just convenient. Thank you very much, Gerda, it was great to be at home at Captain's vVew.
Hostess was in touch and explained everything. Beautiful place, with everything needed. View is great and it is very safe. We will definitely come back to Lamberts Bay, and specifically to Captain's View!
Napkins may be purchased. Sometimes needed when making sandwiches.
Gerda was very friendly and helpful. However, a few things to look out for: 1. The outer gate, just hooks in with a hook, has a lot of trouble closing. Needs a lock to lock. 2. The sliding glass door is very difficult to open and close. Maybe also pay attention. 3. The cleanliness of the house was not looked after properly. Above the bed in the twin room was a spider web. 4. There are heaters to use, as well as a fan, but nowhere is there a plug in which it fits to be able to use. Had to buy a plug myself to be able to use the one heater, it was particularly cold in the house. 5. You only have a 'captain's view' if you stand up straight. There is a wall around the house and rooms facing the sea have small windows. So have to stand outside for 'view', but it doesn't help if it's raining and cold.
Had a great stay. The only hitch is parking - it's a bit tight and larger vehicles will struggle to fit in. I did not have the courage to leave my vehicle on the street.
Two bedroom unit with sea views from both bedrooms. Living area has a well-equipped kitchen (up to a Nespresso machine). There is WiFi and full DStv and a very nice indoor barbecue. There is also an outdoor barbecue with a sea view. You can park your vehicle under a thatched roof, behind gates, next to the apartment. Only suggestion is to pay attention to front door and sliding door that the children could not open. We had a wonderful time relaxing with truly a "Captain's View" especially when the sea was a bit rough.
The location is good, but one could not really enjoy the views and sunsets over the ocean. The accommodation is clean but very basic when it comes to self-catering.
The layout is strange with bedrooms with a view and living area with no view. The main photo is very nice but taken from a standing position which does not reflect the true position. Extremely well located and on good weather days the outdoor barbecue and entertainment area will be very pleasant. (With a nice view if you stand and braai!).
Very good location and sea view with everything you could need. The delicious indoor grill is a winner.

From my first conversation with Gerda (the hostess) I just knew we were going to have a great stay! Captain's View is amazing, super clean, tidy, well equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday and extras like coffee, tea, sugar and milk in the fridge and the most delicious biscuits. We will definitely make ourselves at home here again. Thanks for everything, Gerda!
