Fig Tree Lodge and Magtree Lodge are bush cottages for couples lit by gas and lamplight, with full self-catering facilities, while Kudu and Nyala Cottages are two-bedroom cottages, each with electricity and all amenities for self-catering.
The shy Red duiker is often seen furtively feeding off the lawns of our 2 Luxury bush lodges. Take a hike or 4x4 drive around the Ranch and you can enjoy the breathtaking views of our beautiful valley and view game at the same time. A babbling brook with crystal clear mountain water feeds our spectacular waterfall where you can enjoy a picnic or sun downers under the shade of the forest that surrounds it.

13 guests' feedbackWe will definitely visit again. The best place to unwind and relax. Loved the outside shower, the enclosed braai Lapa. The privacy and everything was just perfect. We loved watching all the animals Giraffe, Zebra, Impala, Ostrich and more. Lovely picnic spot at the Waterfall,.
We had such a relaxing stay, the area was quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle of town. The scenery is so beautiful, from the waterfall to the giraffes, ostriches, and many other animals. I will definitely recommend Caracal Lodge to anyone wanting an escape from the town's noises and just to relax and be at peace.

Lovely private bush lodge to give you that secluded feeling, with lots of game to view close up, however with good service at hand if needed. We had a great 4 night stay to explore the nearby forests by mountain bike.
If you're looking for an in-the-bush experience, Caracal Lodge is just the place for you! Figtree Lodge is a secluded log cabin where you can appreciate the silence, and 'camp' without electricity and technological disturbances. In the morning you can relax on the patio and stand in awe of the birds. Although there is not much wildlife to be seen, the impala bulls provided the necessary bush sounds! Get up to the waterfall, it's beautiful! The gas hot water system was a challenge and there is no place to pack clothes, but the evenings in front of the fireplace or outside in the moonlight certainly made up for it!
Akkommodasie baie privaat, jy kan "Netflix and chill" ... in die bos! Mooi plaas met staproetes en watervalle. Regte "cabin in the woods" tipe plek.
Jerry the giraffe provides a lot of fun and funny moments. The accommodation is excellent with everything you need, and even more, to enjoy your stay. Staff is friendly. Accommodation is clean and tidy and you sleep well in a nice atmosphere. The birdlife is plentiful and a must for the birdwatching enthusiast.
Beautiful and nice, breathtaking views from the mountains. The gravel road is something different!
Comfortable and clean accomodation, with everything neccessary for a self-catering getaway. Great braai area set within an old sheep kraal. Great hospitality, arrived in the early evening, with a welcoming camp fire already lit. The outdoor shower was great, however requires double sided screening for added privacy. The short hikes around the farm and the animal interaction, with both farm, wild and domestic was enjoyed by all, Lulu the Jack Russell slept over in our unit, it felt like home away from home. The farm offers a good location to explore the surrounding country Sudwala Caves, Chimp Eden, Kaapsehoop, etc. Thanks to Donald & Staff
My husband and I spent ages searching the internet for a place to escape to for the weekend and, after some frustration, we came across Caracal Lodge. We are so grateful now for all those 'Sorry, we are fully booked for those dates' messages we received from other places we had tried. Bushbuck has a full kitchen open plan to the lounge which opens out onto a deck with beautiful views. Bushbuck and Impala cottage are next to each other and have an inter leading door which can be opened if you are a larger group. On the deck is a weber braai with outside table and camp chairs. Our game is often seen from the deck
