A braai area outside provides a place for guests to put up their feet and relax, far away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life. Off street parking is available for cars, trailers and caravans.

47 guests' feedbackVery nice stay. One night on the way home (Pretoria). Nothing more than this accommodation needed. Car is safe behind the gate. The house has everything you need and you can walk to restaurants etc. Wish we could have stayed there longer.
Very spacious and well equipped house in a good location. Our dogs could also stay safely in the backyard when we went exploring the town.

I don't easily give five stars to something or someone because it's perfect. I can't help but give Carrow Veld Cottage five stars. Everything needed is there. The place is spacious, clean and tidy. We will hopefully stay here a few more times in the future. Only age is catching up with us.

Everything was as expected. we had a little hassle getting in as the entry codes were sent to my computer which was at home, and I was in Graaff-Reinet. But it was sorted after a short period. Other than that it was ideal.
Beautifully maintained place with walls and gate very secure. Everything we needed. Air conditioning, warm blankets, gas bottles and lamps. Smart TV with Netflix and DStv. It's very central. We really enjoyed Graaff Reinet, especially valley of desolation.
I expected less than what I got. Very neat and everything gives you an old world Karoo feeling. A house with a rich history for sure. I will definitely be visiting again soon. Air conditioning was a big plus.
Attention can only be given to the en-suite bathroom. No bath plug - in searching for a plug I noticed that the bottom and sides of the bath had not been cleaned. (Cobwebs, dust). Both the shower and tub's hot faucets have no "H" markers on them. There is water damage on the top of the sink. There were biscuit crumbs on the "dressing table" in the master bedroom. The cleaning lady may just need to be informed.
Loadshedding is now a norm, eventually, the Guest houses and such owners will have to consider gas cooking facilities. Diane did supply power outage globes to the best advantage, in all a delightful stay.
Secure parking. I never met the owner, but that wasn't a problem. Everything was very well organized. There was a TV with reception and channels. I had a nice stay.

Very nice place good, located facilities and service was excellent. Our 2 dogs just enjoyed it and because the place is well fenced, it is very safe and our dogs couldn't run away.

From the street side the house looks cramped and simple, but what a pleasant surprise when you step inside. The house is luxurious, spacious, comfortable and well equipped (even a washing machine). Well located in a quiet area, just off the main street, and within walking distance of shops and attractions in town. Secure parking in the courtyard which has room for a few cars. Diane lives on a farm outside the town, but we met her ─ a very pleasant, friendly and helpful lady. I can highly recommend this accommodation. Tip: make sure you receive her thorough instructions for entering the premises by mobile phone (WhatsApp).
We have stayed overnight at Carrow Veld several times and it has been very neat and clean every time. It is very well located in the town.
Initially struggled to read instructions to access accommodation but managed. Neat, comfortable and safe accommodation. Would recommend it.

Carrow Veld Cottage is the perfect weekend getaway. The rooms are spacious, neat and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you want. The braai area is comfortable with enough seats. Parking is also inside the premises and is safe and secure. Diane (host) also kept us up to speed on all developments, how to access the premises etc. We will definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful overnight stay in Carrow Cottage. Check in and out was super easy. The house is large and super comfortable. The washing machine was very much appreciated! The only thing we missed was a coffee plunger / French press.

We were kindly received and impressed by the spacious house and large yard where our dog could play while we unpacked, looked after the baby, grilled dinner and explored the heart of the beautiful town. The house is neat and fully equipped. The beds and bedding were very comfortable, even though there are only single beds. We will definitely stay here again.

Perfectly situated for shops and easy to find. Although we did not meet our host, she was always in contact to ascertain that everything was alright.

I was so disappointed when we were only granted a single room that forms part of a house. There is not even a fridge available and no privacy as the room is only separated by a door. What disappointed me more is the fact that the quote was changed at the last minute and we were not aware of the poor accommodation. I admit I should have read it in more detail but assumed it was going to be a full cottage and not just a room. I would appreciate it if you would bring this to the attention of the owner to prevent prospective guests from being so misled.
