Casa Cara has my highest recommendation. It is so child friendly and a lovely, clean place. We love it here, every time .
Lovely place with very nice facilities and very clean and safe. The only problem at the caravan site is the shower - either damn hot water or just cold water.
WiFi would be nice to have as there is no such facility.
It is the ideal place to visit as a family. Very neat and clean at residences as well as swimming pools. Fresh products in the store are just eil. We don't smoke and had no lighter for the gas stove in our place at the time.
Well equipped and clean, very well maintained and friendly staff. Lovely water park with enough coolness and seats.
Just a few things that bothered. The gas stove's buttons do not work well, one is almost loose. The cord of the plug by the stove is in a bad place, the cord kept touching the saucepan when I was cooking. There were not enough forks for 4 people, only 3 and no steak knives. The two sharp knives there are in terrible condition. The children's tent door wouldn't stay closed, so we always had to lock it for the monkeys.
Although the reception staff are very incompetent, we had a very nice stay. Was also disappointed with the private ablution block's hot water device which either burned you or you had to shower in cold water. Reported it twice and then just lived with it for the rest of our vacation. Will think twice before going there again.

The resort is beautiful and all the wild animals are a bonus. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay.
We had a great time and always felt safe. The children (between 11 and 16) were busy every day and there is plenty to keep them busy. The restaurant is great and the food is delicious with very good prices. Staff are friendly and helpful and the gate guard smiles too nicely, it makes you feel very much at home. We did not enjoy the boma, the smoke from the fire is unpleasant. Shed for more space or consider a chimney. We had a great time, thank you very much, Casa Cara.
The place met our requirements. Staff were friendly. The place has a lot of potential and can be used for many functions.
Clean rooms and delicious breakfast. There were some noisy fellow guests, but after we quickly sent a message to management, they were addressed. The restaurant experience was less pleasant after we waited a long time for our food, but otherwise we have no complaints.
Many accommodation options, from luxury tents, units or camping. Enough for a family to keep busy. Was a fun weekend for our family.

Wonderful stay. Quiet environment. Unfortunately, neighbors were given permission to use a generator one night after sunset, 5 yards from our tent.
Pleasantly surprised at the development that has taken place. What a festival, swimming, food, camping, animals all for a wonderful break with children.
Good place to spend a weekend. Great for young children. The river front camp sites are neat. There is a great play area and swimming pool with slides close to the camp sites, and the main waterpark was enjoyable.
After the not-so-wonderful dirt road to Casa Cara Lodge, we were able to relax wonderfully. What's not too great are the wild animals they keep. There are 2 white lions, but the massive generator is in the part where they are harnessed. It's deafening and cruel to keep the lions there. The additions and changes are a bit troublesome and noisy around the pool area. There is a problem with all 3 chalets' hot water in the showers and a lot of unnecessary water is wasted.
Very nice place. Very neat and friendly people. Only the dirt road to it is 5 km and very bad.
Kitchenware can be upgraded.
The resort is very nice and clean, we had a good time. The ablution blocks need a serious upgrade, the waterpark can at least allow you a cooler box with cold drinks, it becomes very expensive with a family of 4 to buy drinks and food when you are forced to buy from the restaurant at sky-high prices.
Sand Bar Restaurant is lovely and serves delicious meals and nice drinks.
It was a very cute place. The house (Barraca 1) was very neat and I love the interior of the house. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There were a few lights that were blown and one toilet was leaking but they sorted it out quickly. There was one of the bathrooms that didn't have hand soap. There were a few kitchen items that we felt should have been included especially for the price you pay as most places we've stayed have them too, such as a potato peeler, sharp knives (knives were blunt), dish towels and kitchen scissors . The animal park was cute and very interesting. We had a great time and wished the weekend could have been a little longer.

Our recent camp visit was great as usual for the kids who were able to enjoy slides and just be good kids. The ablution facilities at the pool stands could definitely be cleaner. It is only cleaned once a day and there is also no mop or broom to keep it clean as campers themselves. The doors of the ablution also cannot close and this is really something that needs attention. The overall cleanliness of the resort is good and the pitches are nice under shade nets. Sandbar is fantastic as always and we were able to eat deliciously. The bathrooms at the water park entrance itself were dirty with soaking wet floors.

Casa cara is a beautiful camping site. Well thought through camping site, with everything you need and more. We had a stand next to the river with own ablution, and it is so convenient. The fishing spots below the camping site can be opened up a bit. Will go there again!

The trash in the bathroom was not cleaned from the previous guests' stay. Towels and bed linen fade. Mats in bathroom old and dirty. Since there is no air cooling, one has to rely on fans. The one fan so old it makes a noise. The ceiling fan only turns on low. It's a nightmare with bugs coming in at night when the light is on. No shelter in front of windows. The roof fan was cleaned a long time ago, the dirt and cobwebs are clearly visible. The wardrobe was full of spiders and dead bugs. Not sure when the pool is cleaned. There is no pump or creepy going on during the night. Hair floats around in water and there are things at the bottom of the pool. Hard to see because water is milky. I would like to enjoy shelter or coolness around the pool. The day visitors' pool etc. is much better equipped. There is no shade around the pool, neither trees nor canopies. You can drive in and out at the gates, there is no access control.
We can definitely recommend Casa Cara and will stay there again. The accommodation is very neat, comfortable and clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's peaceful and one feels relaxed.

Perfect place where children can play safely outdoors. No day visitors allowed on campsite - never too many people on site. Separate bathrooms make it convenient to camp with children.

When we arrived there with 8 people, 5 adults and 3 children aged 8 and 6, we found the accommodation split into 3 tents and 1 bedroom which was en suite. We expected one house with 3 bedrooms. How do three small children stay on their own in a tent? Your ad doesn't describe what we got. The lodge tried their very best to accommodate us, but we never used the one tent as we had to put three small children and one adult into one tent to sleep as we couldn't leave them on their own. Bit of a waste of money.
I wish the lodge had Wi-Fi, I struggled with network connection on my Telkom and Cell C line. Daily cleaning services would come in handy since they didn't specify that they do not offer cleaning service so that a person can come prepared especially with things like bath towels and pool towels.
When I booked it was not clearly stated that the unit was made up of detached units, thought it was a large house. When power was off, there was no water supply and we had to prepare for a wedding. Our private braai area was suddenly invaded by a group of people (dressed inappropriately), and a lot of noise. Rather said nothing to avoid confrontation. On the information sheet it says that the outer gate closes at 12 o'clock, we arrived 11 hours before the gate closed. Person who came to open was extremely rude and unfriendly, after all we did nothing wrong. On arrival at accommodation bath was full of spiders and insects, maybe just make sure before guests arrive that everything is clean. Also just noticed in passing that the animals kept in cages must live in neglected conditions. They belong freely in nature, at least for them it is as pleasant as possible. Strength!

The unit was tidy, the weather didn't cooperate.
My daughters had to sleep in a detached tent a few meters away from the unit. The unit was for a family of 4 as advertised. Our neighbors all around were drunk by 11:00 in the morning. How do I let my daughters sleep alone in a tent under those circumstances?. We take a lot of holidays and for the 1st time a unit for a family of 4 means that children and parents are separated from each other. How made with small children? Surely you can warn or inform people that my children do not sleep under the same roof as me. I am very disappointed.

Very nice resort, very well cared for. Had some problems with the manager, but owners immediately understood and corrected it. It is clean and neat and the animals are well cared for. Will definitely make another trip there.
The units are very neat. On arrival it was noticed that there were builders building another unit. This was not mentioned. As I was travelling alone, it made me nervous. The builders were back very early the next morning disturbing my sleep. The staff at check-in and check-out was very rude, and I had to ask for my breakage deposit back. It was arranged that I could check out at 12:00, but when I arrived I was told that I had to be out at 11:00. It is very beautiful, but also very secluded and I would not recommend this for single traveller and even couples as there is very little security during the night. I also had to wash all the dishes before I could check out. I would expect that the units would be cleaned after check out by staff.

We enjoyed a lovely long weekend. The setting is lovely for our large group and there was something for everyone. Just the right combination of 'smart' and 'wild'. Beautiful surroundings and lovely accommodation. Very friendly staff!
The luxury camp was exactly that. Was so nicely located and nice and tidy. We enjoyed the break so much. Felt like we were camping alone by the river and could relax so much. Everything was perfect. A freezer for ice would be nice.
Very nice stay. Casa Cara is a beautiful place. Playground, food and animal park were fantastic. Hooks unit 5. There was no hot water, we couldn't bathe the little one. Unit 5 needs a stove and more bowls. The other units are much better equipped.

Casa Cara Resort is situated within the Vredfort Dome World Heritage Area and is therefore surrounded by beautiful scenery. The fields surrounding Casa Cara Resort boast many varieties of indigenous wildflowers and shrubs.
The resort offers an entertainment area with a play park, a swimming pool and a restaurant, located 700 m from the accommodation. The play park and the use of the pool is included in the accommodation price. To enter the animal park, there is an additional charge per person.
