We chose Rapunzel castle because it is a castle with a tower and stairs, 3 floors, with 32 stairs to be exact what you climb all day. We really enjoyed staying in the luxurious Rapunzel (almost like in a medieval castle). The castle is romantic and magical. The decor and furniture are like from a "movie". Luxury and carefully chosen down to the last detail. The kitchen is fully equipped with an ice machine. It only needs a bread toaster and a small freezer! The Princess room in the tower turns into a fairy tale when the lights are switched on at dusk. It is so romantic. The Princess room gets sun all day and late afternoon it is cuddly warm with full sun, especially now in winter it is a bonus and the sun gives the room a warm color that is indescribably beautiful.We did sit without power for 2 hours the next day under no circumstances wanted to leave our castle and our host brought us a gas heater and more solar lights.Then the castle turned into a real medieval castle which we enjoyed.We also had a guest who stayed in the lower room behind a shield. It didn't bother us. I highly recommend the castle. Make a reservation.

It was an experience. A welcome escape from every day's hustle and bustle. The Rapunzel's Room is picture-perfect, but pack a small bag or backpack if you want to sleep upstairs in the castle. The stairs are many. There is also a beautiful room on the ground floor.
Lovely fairytale evening and girls enjoyed it so much, around every corner you just want to take another photo. So much attention to detail. Truly feel like the princess. Most beautiful view.

What one notices first is the detail. It is unimaginable that someone could make a place where strangers can come and relax with so much love. It was all silver clean and very practically furnished. And the view was breathtaking. I also appreciated that no one ever bothered us. The information beforehand was just enough, not overwhelming. Truly a wonderful place.

The castle is a very unique experience. It's unbelievably neat and has everything you need. We were looking for something that's not the norm and this castle definitely brought this to the table!
Castle Clarens is literally something out of a fairy tale! The attention to detail in the castle is unbelievable and even though it is self-catering, Wimpie always ensured that we were happy and had everything we needed. If you're passing through Clarens, Castle Clarens is definitely worth the effort.
Very clean and tidy place. Incredible view. Got engaged in the castle! Will definitely go back again to enjoy the silence, fresh air and view again. All I can complain about is the parking area which is very steep and makes it difficult to load goods in and out. Make sure your handbrake is working or you're going to go get your car at the bottom of the valley.
