The Cederberg lies 250 km north of Cape Town, stretching from the Middelberg Pass in Citrusdal to north of the Pakhuis Pass at Clanwilliam. The wilderness encompasses about 71,000-hectares of rugged, mountainous terrain, making it a top spot in the Western Cape for hiking and rock-climbing enthusiasts. The Cederberg, which forms part of the Cape floral Region, is a World Heritage Site, is covered in mountain fynbos, including the laurel protea, the red disa, rooibos, and the rare and endemic snow protea. Rare Clanwilliam cedars, the area’s namesake, dot the higher mountain cliffs. The area is also rich in wildlife. Visitors with a keen eye may spot porcupines, honey badger, the Cape clawless otter and aardvark. The lucky few may even catch a glimpse of the elusive leopard. There are also smaller predators like the African wild cat, lynx, bat-eared fox, aardwolf and Cape fox. Other, more common animals include baboons, dassies, grey rhebok, klipspringers, duiker and grysbok.
The Grey Rhebok cottage can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children under 12-years old and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The first bedroom contains a double bed and the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The bathroom features a walk-in shower, a toilet and a washbasin.
The kitchen and living area is modernly furnished with colourful pictures added to enhance the natural environment in which they are situated. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and includes a 4-plate stove and oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, cutlery and crockery, pots and pans. The lounge area contains a closed combustion indoor fireplace, and a sleeper couch that can accommodate 2 children under 12-years old. The cottage opens to a large stoep with a picnic table, undercover braai facilities, and beautiful views over the mountain. A braai grid and a tripod is supplied.

12 guests' feedbackWe were received very kindly and told about all the walking routes. The chalet is very nice and tidy. Your porch overlooks the mountains, nature and river. It is incredibly beautiful. Indoor fireplace with outdoor grill. Chalets have everything you could possibly need and more.
Very nice stay. Friendly helpful staff and fantastic views.
Beautiful surroundings - cottages with a lovely view of mountains. Well and neatly maintained. Fully equipped with all your necessities.
Good accommodation set at the foot of an awesome mountain range.
Algeria well located to view the Cederberge.
Most beautiful camping area. The house was tidy, well equipped and we had a lovely time on the veranda. The walking route is breathtaking and the Cederberge wine cellar was a nice surprise. Definitely a place we will visit again.
We had a wonderful stay. The people were friendly and helpful. The house was clean and tidy. The fireplace crackled nicely in the cold.
Place is neat and very safe. It was raining when we got there, but would have preferred the entire roof section to be closed just to keep the rain out. Furthermore, we made it fun for us. Just a shame the children's play area was closed, so there were few things for small children to do. Other than that we enjoyed it. On Friday morning I was called and told that my booking was for September and I called the offices just to confirm that my place was still ok. My details on their system were not correct. Only my name on system, but otherwise other details wrong. It also said that I had a credit on it. So I don't know where the problem is.
Great spot, friendly staff, extremely well situated, a must!
The place to stay was absolutely stunning with the most beautiful view. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we could only spend the night, but will definitely go back for a longer visit!
Safe and friendly service. Good break with family
Thank you very much.
