Easily one of the nicest places to stay we've been; architectural and interior design perfection in many respects with an unforgettable view of the mountains (also from your bed). Friendly and helpful service (thanks to whoever came to turn on the plunge pool's heating, and saved us a fire!). Highly recommend the restaurant (Ragazzi, within walking distance).

Springbok running around close to the house, it has it own wine cellar stocked with wine, a great hot tub which was already heated when we arrived, inside fireplace is a plus on the cooler evenings. We would love to come back again with plenty of wine estates in the area to visit and other places of interest close by.
Cellar1947 is a very unique experience, from the underground cellar to the heated splash pool and friendly alpacas. I'll always recommend Cellar1947 to anyone that needs to feel spoilt and special. Excellent location just outside the main "dorp" with beautiful mountain views.

It's a beautiful unit where a family can make wonderful memories together. Everything is nice and clean and the service is excellent. One night is too little, you have to spend more time here, it's so nice. Wonderful place with a lot to offer. Wish we could spend more than one night here. We will definitely stay at Cellar 1947 again.
It was a wonderful experience. The house's design and every detail has been carefully thought out. The on-site restaurant is also an incredible experience.

We had a great time in a beautiful setting with all the "bells and whistles". Air conditioning will be just another big treat. Staff needs to be beefed up a bit. Dishes were still in dishwasher. This was only discovered later after we asked for more wine glasses and coffee mugs. This is no criticism. Just want it to be 100% in such a beautiful special place.
When we arrived there we were welcomed by Braam and his beautiful little girl. The history surrounding the place is just amazing. The underground cellar was the highlight of our stay. Absolutely beautiful. The view is majestic and the animals just adds more character to the whole experience. Loved the Llamas.

Beautiful accommodation with a very nice Jacuzzi and private, small wine cellar which makes it very unique. The house batteries helped a lot during load shedding. A bigger fridge would be appreciated.
It's lovely. It's a little pricey considering the small things. Like no rooibos tea or water in the fridge and the pillows on the kid's bed are a bit broken up inside. Besides that it's a real treat, the kids loved it and the pool was amazing. It was hot, we loved that.

The Cellar1947 is located on a farm just outside Robertson. The accommodation is modern and luxuriously finished. One can have a lovely time on the veranda and sliding doors that open connect the living room/kitchen with the outside. The Jacuzzi is a hit! The host is easily and quickly reachable. We really enjoyed the weekend and will come to this place again!

Cellar1947 is so special, Braam is a great host and his passion for the place shines through in all the details. Beautiful views, peaceful, the hot tub and of course Fred, made for a great stay. Will be back for sure to see the Lizzy's in bloom.
We had some plans for the days we were there but we cancelled them to make more time to spend at Cellar1947. Everything is created and styled for romance, from the low lighting and massive bath, to the jacuzzi and indoor fireplace. It's modern and rustic, and the cellar is a great bonus. No XBox as advertised, but when you're with your partner on a romantic getaway, that's probably a good thing. Braam is also a super welcoming host and offered a tour of all the facilities and was available whenever we needed.

Beautifully restored wine cellar converted into a two bedroom house surrounded by mountains, flowers and green grass. It's equipped with everything you need. Silver clean and modern. The swimming pool is very welcome in the warm part of the Cape. Braam was an excellent host and even showed us what the beautiful flowers they farm look like. It's the perfect getaway.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Cellar1947 for two days and found the place to be absolutely worth every cent. The views are to die for and breath-taking. We felt rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. Will definitely recommend this gem to all our friends and will definitely be back soon.
The rebuilding of the basement into prime accommodation was done with so much style.
Beautifully furnished with detail for comfort. We had a great time relaxing in the pool/Jacuzzi, the evenings around the fire were the highlight. Host Braam is very helpful and friendly as well as the neighboring farm. Only negative of Cellar 1947, it needs a bigger fridge please. There is a wide variety of wineries and restaurants in the area to explore. Robertson and surroundings really offer a lot.

The accommodation was something unique and was absolutely beautiful. From having wood for a braai to bath robes and towels, worth every cent! The place was clean and the host Braam was fantastic. Would definitely recommend going, wished we could have stayed longer!

I really don't know how I will ever be able to get used to any, and I mean any, other self catering accommodation options. The host's passion for the project which he shares with you in detail is commendable. The photos speak for themselves but wow, the underground cellar is a total asset! I refer people left and right to Cellar1947 and will go back again and again. This is total value for money for a place that sleeps 4. I just want to know why didn't the developers build 6 or 7 more units like this? But still, that would also take away from the uniqueness of this emerald of a getaway. Wow!
The Cellar has a well thought out and beautiful design. The story of how it was built just adds to it's charm. We were warmly welcomed with the indoor fireplace already burning and the jacuzzi turned on. The below ground cellar is very cool.
Braam is an amazing host, who made us feel so at home. The house Cellar 1947 is an incredibly beautiful and comfortable place with its wine cellar and wine that is available to the guests at a minimal cost. The braai facilities as well as the swimming pool are all 5-star. The springboks and blue cranes around the house round off the beautiful picture. But the inside of the house is a wonderful experience with fresh flowers in every room to the bathrooms. Then of course there is also the TV which offers several channels. Braam you have truly outdone yourself with a piece of history and created a rest-for-the-soul environment! Well done, an exceptional place indeed!
The location is far enough out of town but close enough for convenience. Braam and Riaan are friendly, helpful and make the arrival professional. The property is well designed, with fine detail around the character of the "old" building. The facilities are sufficient for a nice winter stay. In summary it is a good break from the city, children can play ball, swim, cycle and just have fun or as a couple you can just relax, read a book, drink wine and sit in the heated pool and relax.
We stayed at Cellar 1947 with friends for 2 nights. The property is beautiful with rich history. Amazing views and so much to do with the kids in the area! I can highly recommend this venue!
