We really enjoyed our stay at Chalky's! Marijke was a super host, enquiring if we were comfortable each day. We really appreciated the personal touches in the unit. The location is great for some sunset views over the lagoon since it is situated higher up on the hill overlooking Langebaan. They also have a full solar and battery setup so no impacts from load-shedding! The only minor issue is the Wi-Fi only works in the bedroom and does not extend to the living area or patio.

The only suggestion I would like to make is that there should be a toaster and possibly a 2-plate stove in the self-catering unit. Otherwise, everything is there and in perfect working order. Marijke was very warm and welcoming! We stayed over New Year's and even received shots to welcome in the new year with our hosts. There is a wonderful view from the balcony of the self catering deck, which the photos don't do justice of! Although the house is not directly near the beach it is just a short drive down the hill. The location of the house is also a welcome spot, as it is tranquil and serene. The rooms are neat and the beds are comfy! Really had such a great stay at Chalky's Place!
On the website it is a self-catering unit. However, there were only 2 mugs and glasses available. For a self-catering unit, one expects that there can at least be plates and porridge bowls, if you want to eat something there yourself.

Brand new, excellent guest house with everything you need. Extremely clean, tastefully decorated and offers a feeling of being pampered and rested. The apartment is completely private, offers a beautiful view and braai facilities with plenty of space. A lovely place to relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the town and beach. We also used the African room, which is also completely private and beautifully decorated with everything you need. Early morning coffee on the porch or late night drink after a day at the beach, is very peaceful. What particularly stands out about the guest house is not only the friendliness of the hostess and host, but the fact that you can get away from the buzz around the lagoon and surroundings and at the same time be within 3 minutes of it to enjoy it when it suits you. fit. We will definitely return to this guest house with its absolute peaceful atmosphere. We can only say thank you very much for a lovely, peaceful visit.
Everything exactly like the photos as well as very comfortable. Marijke & Jack welcomed us very kindly. However, the Wi-Fi was disappointing as the signal was/is very weak and there was also reception only in the bedroom. The place is very convenient if people/family only visit for a short time - for those of us who were visiting for longer, a laundry drying rack would be a bonus as there is no place to store wet towels/beach towels etc. do not let dry.
Marijke is a very friendly hostess - every day she made sure we were still comfortable and happy in our room. The Sea-themed unit we stayed in was spotless, tidy and modern. We felt at home immediately. The unit offers a nice comfortable bed, TV with open view, WiFi, coffee and tea facilities in the room and a nice and spacious en-suite bathroom with a large comfortable walk-in shower. Items such as toilet paper, towels, body wash, shampoo, hand wash, hair dryer, etc. are provided. There were chocolates, cookies, sweets, etc in the room which we also enjoyed. Furthermore, you have your own parking space for your vehicle in the yard, which offers extra security. I'm sorry we didn't get to the breakfast options while we were there, but we will definitely try the breakfast options on our next visit! Thanks again for the lovely stay!
We had an awesome stay. What you see it what you get, there isn't any surprises. The host is very helpful and very friendly. The room was super neat and clean. We got some nice sweet treats. I wouldn't only recommend Chalky's, but I would go back again. 10/10.
