18 guests' feedbackThe toilet seat is swollen and weathered. Only one of the bedside lamps worked. There was no washcloth or drying cloth available in the kitchen. Besides that, the other guests were very noisy until late at night. Furthermore, the place was clean and tidy.
Amelia was very hospitable and I was able to go to my room an hour earlier. The room was terribly hot, I could do with a fan. I had to boil the kettle on the floor by the multi-plug because there was no power plug at the table. The shower was top notch. On Sunday morning I had to wait 10 minutes for the gate to be opened. Amelia said they are working on giving guests each a remote control. I felt very safe staying there.
I booked on 26/01/2024. The reception area looked like a rural home. The captured pic online is attractive, but I struggled to find the place because the painting was in a different colour. The room was small and had cockroaches.
We realize that you get after the amount you are willing to pay, but then at least everything should be in working order. Of the three light bulbs in the roof light, only one worked. The bedside light had no wall plug nearby to use. The room was very dark, hot and stuffy. The door and window both opened onto the parking area and we could not leave them open without compromising our privacy. WiFi didn't work.
When the toilet is pulled, the handle stays off and leaks somewhere, filling the bathroom with water.
We are very disappointed with the accommodation at Chancellors Court. These are the issues: 1) The wall outside looks old and it needs paint. The premises number is written by hand, on the wall. 2) The premises is old and not kept properly. 3) The room is old and outdated. 4) The ceiling is broken, with cracks, several places. 5) The duvet and duvet inner and pillowcases are thin and very old and not really white anymore. 6) There is only 1 bedsheet. 7) The mattress cover has yellow stains on. 8) There is no place behind the bedside table to plug in the bedlamp. 9) The fridge smells bad. 10) There are only 2 coffee sachets. Only had coffee once, not enough for in the morning. We had to buy coffee at Shell Garage. 11) Bathroom tiles are broken. 12) There is mold in the room and bathroom. Black stains. 13) Towels are old, thin and hard. Not white anymore. 14) Shower tiles are broken and dirty. Also mold. 15) Bathroom, cupboard cannot close, hangs open. Prestik to keep it closed is old and does not work anymore. 16) No basin plug. 17) Could not shower, no hot water. 18) Whatsapp for assistance is not answered. 19) Other guests make a lot of noise. 20) Curtains are too long, hang on floor. 21) No milk. 22) Lights in room not bright, room dark. 23) Open view on TV, but not set up, you have to do it yourself. We are leaving in the morning, and cannot find another place now. We want a refund.

Beautiful, safe place. Unfortunately, reception was incomprehensible, sir spoke very unclearly. Room was clean, only 1 plug worked, TV was not as promised. Lovely comfortable bed, just made a lot of noise.
The room was clean and tidy and the guest house was located in a good area and very safe. There were some negative points for me, there were no towels provided (I feel this should be standard at a guest house, seeing as I didn't choose self catering). We were two people who slept over in the room, but there was only one coffee cup provided. The room's bathroom has no accessories such as floor mats, face towel or even a door or curtain for the shower. The website advertises DStv channels, our TV in the room was not even tuned to any channels. For the one night's stay, the place met our basic needs. Will not make a booking here again, nor will recommend to others.
It is close to all the embassies.
We arrived and they told us we were not booked gave us a terrible room without TV. Room too hot without aircon.
Only one coffee cup and no kettle.
The place stinks, the ceiling in the bathroom has mold on it. The shower is blocked, the water drains very slowly and this causes the water to build up in the shower.
On arrival we were received by a very language-impaired person. In broken English, we could hear that there is anything else more available in the room to us. They could've at least move us to their other guesthouse a few km away. We travelled 150km to get there and it was quite bad not to be able to sit back and relax. I don't understand how we paid a deposit and did not have an available room. Definitely not the standard I'm used to with the website.
