119 guests' feedbackHad a great time. Will definitely go again.
Lovely location. Calm atmosphere. Nice hiking trails.
It felt like home. The setting was beautiful. The owners were friendly.
Peaceful and quiet. Comfortable and clean. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Quiet and peaceful place. Easy access from R71. Clean and tidy. Kitchen fully equipped. Will enjoy visiting here winter or summer. Fireplace was a winner. The pool is pretty clean, although we didn't use it. Nice close to attractions in the area.
Lovely clean place. Very friendly reception! Will definitely stay here again!
Very very nice. Nice clean, beautiful and friendly. Lovely bed, fireplace, friendly who carried the bags and came to clean. Peace for heart and soul.
Very quiet and special bird life.
Very friendly and clean accommodation. They provide everything, bed linen, crockery, even a dishwasher, cloth wash, dish towels and even tissues. Will go back again and again, very neat, even the grounds.
Absolutely amazing, the views are breathtaking, the garden is to die for, and the hosts are just great people. Feels like home just better.
The venue and location were so much more breathtaking than the photos. The scenery was refreshing and the area and gardens are very well looked after. The owners were accommodating and professional. The cottage itself was neat and had the bare minimum.
Very nice stay! Friendly staff. Located near nice places.
The surroundings are beautiful and definitely worth visiting.
We had a great stay, thank you.
Lovely setting. Big cottage. Well fitted out. Cushions on the enormous bed were a little bit hard, though.
It was very nice, peaceful and beautiful. Even more beautiful than in the photos themselves.
Great, everything clean and tidy, very nice hiking trails and just right for day trips.
Very nice view, quiet and clean.
It is a lovely place to stay, service is great, place was very clean and tidy. The grounds are incredibly beautiful. Lots to keep kids busy, and really enjoyed walking the grounds in the fresh air. Would definitely recommend it.
The chalet was clean and met all our needs. I would definitely go there again for a getaway.
Cheerio Resort is a peaceful and beautiful place to stay, well located and friendly service.
Very comfortable stay with everything you need. Host is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately only 1 fly fishing pond.
We would go again anytime. So peaceful and clean, nature. Everything was awesome. Up to kitchen equipped with everything. Really enjoyed it there.
Friendly, peaceful and very comfortable.
We have stayed at Cheerio's a few times. Wamatha is a lovely, private cottage with an incredible view. Take a fan with you in hot months.
The cleaning service is great, and the property is very attractive. Be aware there is a kitchenette rather than a normal free-standing stove and oven, it has instead a mini countertop type. No salt and pepper nor any type of condiments are provided, and the only local grocery shops are quite expensive and very limited in their range. They also only provided one of the mini bars of soap, which between my son and I was finished on the third day. Unlike most guest houses with their mini bottles, no shampoo or conditioner were provided. An initial load of firewood is provided, with more for sale with charcoal at the reception. They don't stock firelighters, but the cleaning staff loads the fireplace with kindling each day (except Sundays and holidays). There is no electrical heating.
WiFi didn't reach our house.
Received very friendly service. Peaceful surroundings with a warm fireplace for the cold winter evenings. We had a nice rest there. The bed and pillows were just very uncomfortable. Maybe just pay attention to it. The fireplace inside was very nice, I suggest maybe providing free fireplace wood to your customers, it's something like that that means a lot to customers.
Nice surroundings and neat accommodation. Beautiful entrance.
Lovely and comfortable accommodation.
Was very nice. Manager was very helpful and friendly. Only negative, the beds were a bit "slept out", they might look into new mattresses. But overall it had been a fantastic weekend.
Fantastic location, tranquil and private.
See stars.
Very nice area. 1 or 2 small things that need work in the unit but will definitely use them again. Cleaning the unit in the mornings is a definite bonus.
We had a great time relaxing at Cheerio Farm. It is so nice clean and tidy. The service was very good.
It's a great place. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the nature and beautiful gardens. Friendly service and reception.
The scenery is beautiful, even if the azaleas are not in bloom and the facilities are very good.
Spectacular view. Clean, nice fire place. Service very good.
We had a lovely stay. Will recommend to anyone and will definitely go back.
We had a great stay and the service was friendly and helpful.
What a feast. The tranquility of the area, house incredibly clean and hospitable. Central accommodation to explore area. We come again!
Very nice place and friendly people. Beautiful nature!
Cheerio is located in the best place. Close enough to Heanertsberg, very easy for Magoebaskloof adventures and an excellent place to stay if you want to visit Zwakala.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. I have already recommended the resort to friends and family.
The Rainbow Cottage is beautiful, well equipped, lovely porch and view. It's quiet and private and ideal for any getaway.
Very nice stay. Peaceful and beautiful. Helpful people, clean and tidy and everything needed for self-care.
Neat, clean unit, great electric blankets. Would suggest replacing the TV with a more modern one.
The cabin we stayed in needs a bit of maintenance done on the cornices. Furthermore, the basin in the bathroom is ridiculously high. I am a tall person, but I still had to stand on my tiptoes to brush my teeth. Lastly, it is hot and humid in the mountain, but there is no roof fan in the unit. It would be advised to have a loose standing fan that can be moved from room to room as the humidity was hectic there.
Beautiful and peaceful place with all the amenities, as well as beautiful trees and wildlife. Will definitely go again.
They could upgrade the chalet with an AC unit in the bedroom.
Adventurous, nice and quiet place to relax with family.
Cherio exceeded our expectation. Neat, clean, private and relatively close to all attractions. The hiking trails are fabulous, I would have appreciated just one or two signposts to the trails, but you explore the world as you walk. Will definitely visit again.
Beautiful surroundings, good service.
It is the most beautiful environment, rich in trees, lush vegetation and beautiful walking paths. The ideal place for a wonderful break.
Value for money, native bush and children's pool. It was ideal for our family. Close to village and other attractions.
It was worth our stay. To be visited in September 2021.
Great experience, surely my holiday destination.
The road is bad, but just take it nice and slow. For the price, this is an excellent stay. Lovely room, kitchen and lounge. However, the lounge has no ceiling and the constant rain was deafening. Once tourism has picked up again, it might be a good thing to put a ceiling in that area. Maybe you can also consider covering the braai-area. Other than that, all were just perfect.
Location is good, just a pity the road from main road to resort is very bad. Gardens are beautifully maintained and really create a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere.
Lovely setting, pity it was misty but still a lovely place to stay.
Have a great time relaxing with the tranquility of the natural beauty around you. The accommodation was good and everything needed for the few days was available. Nice stay. Jady kept us informed the whole time with the load shedding times for which we were very grateful.
We should have stopped by the Cheerio Gardens earlier, then we would have visited it more often over the long weekend because it was literally on our doorstep. The cottage was private and quiet even though it was close to the road. Our stay was really comfortable and was close to several attractions that didn't take hours of driving to visit.
The cottage was lovely and offered the quiet and seclusion we were looking for. We felt that for the price, they could have included a few more little extras (shampoo and lotion, more coffee and tea etc.) however we had no complaint with what was there. We will definitely be going back.
The cottage for 2 people does not offer much. It's very small and basic but the price is good. You have to eat out and entertain and distraction is not available either. Unless you are a fisherman. One pot and pan was burnt and not cleaned well. Luckily we didn't need to use it.
It's an idyllic place. Hospitable. There is so much beauty to see and appreciate. A piece of gem for sure.
Had a great stay, Cheerio itself offers a lot for nature lovers, hiking trails were beautiful and there were quite a few ponds for fly fishing. The on-site restaurant is also convenient and the service was great. We would definitely recommend Cheerio!
It is obviously a beautiful environment. The dirt roads are not always the best, but that is to be expected. We had a great time.
Well equipped units, comfortable bed, good bathroom, nice facilities (braai areas, swimming pool and trails).
Well located but first part of dirt road is very bad.
The most beautiful surroundings, comfortable tidy house. Everything you need and more. Would stay there again anytime.
Personal involvement from Jady with accommodation, directions and arrangements with braai wood, keys etc. Beechwood house was clean and tidy Fast feedback from Lekkerslaap and effort to help customer
It was a lovely visit in the forest with many walking trails on the farm. The cottage (Beefwood) could do with a bit of updating and the lounge area isn't necessarily sufficient for 6 adults - but as a whole it's a lovely getaway.
If I pay R900 per night I expect at least 3-star quality. This place falls far short. Regarding towels and bed linen. The cabin is in urgent need of maintenance, inside and out, and the lounge sofa and mattress definitely need upgrading. The bedding was washed and duvet was paper thin and barely covered the queen size bed. Curtains are also long past their lifespan. And the TV is put up against the ceiling in one corner of the living room, pathetically placed. The location is beautiful, we could walk in Cheerio's gardens for 6 hours every morning and it was amazing. Would I stay there again, not until upgrades are done.
Calm in spite of. Reception was curt. Accidentally forgot something there, WhatsApped and asked if management (Jady) would check for me and let me know. It's now 24 hours later, message has been read, but no feedback received. Resort itself neat and quiet. The cushions' quality is also definitely something to look at. Overview of the resort on LekkeSlaap definitely needs to be adjusted. No cleaning services, the electricity was also an inconvenience. The Debengeni waterfall is closed, the Boabab tree is now privately owned and cannot be visited.
Very nice, peaceful atmosphere. Nice stay!
It was a great break away weekend to enjoy the flowering azaleas and cherry blossoms. There were some great places to visit in the area and we spoiled ourselves with light meals and drinks. While the draw card the weekend was the festival, it turned out to be a minor event when compared to other places visited. The bonus was the great fly fishing experience of netting as many as 6 fish in the space of an hour. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
Well located units that can easily be reached by a normal sedan. The area is quiet and peaceful with a lot of birds and plants. Friendly staff and Jady were very professional and helpful. Will definitely go back, this time for longer!
The cottage we stayed in is not modern and new, but was well equipped. The fireplace was a winner! The deck had a lovely view and we enjoyed every meal outside weather permitting. Lovely for walking, cycling for the more adventurous. We had a great time, thank you very much.
Comfortable accommodation, very comfortable beds with electric blankets for cold evenings. Beautiful setting.
Our stay for one night was pleasant and peaceful. Pauls Cottage is very well equipped with lots of space. Although the unit does not have a view like some of the other units, we walked about 3 km on the premises to take in the beautiful scenery. Value for money. Would recommend the resort with an open heart.
Very nice atmosphere and place. Good customer service. Will definitely go here again.
The house is very nice and comfortable. I missed rooibos tea.
The view was beautiful. The accommodation was well furnished and the bedding was clean and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped. The accommodation offers good value for money in a very beautiful part of the country. Fireplace fire helped keep winter fairs out.
The people were very helpful and we had a lovely stay. It was just to short.
The house was clean and well equipped. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. The children played so well that we could also just rest (with 3 children from 7 months to 5 years, that says a lot). My husband also enjoyed fishing. The service was good and Jady went out of her way to help us.
Beautiful location. A little dated inside, but still a lovely place! We certainly come to honor.
We stayed only 1 night. Wanted to book an extra night but no accommodation was available. The Waratah unit is well equipped and has a beautiful view. Jade was very friendly and helpful (helped us find accommodation in the area). I would recommend Cheerio and would stay there again myself.
As beautiful and delicious as can be. Would love to visit again.
We enjoyed it very much.
I will recommend Cheerio to anyone but for more than just one night!
Was great, would definitely recommend.
We enjoyed Cheerio Trout so much. It was tranquil. We were visited Haenertsburg and all the surrounding spots. The cheese factory 'Wegraakbosch' is also nearby. Thanks so much to the lady who helped us.
Very impressed with the chalet. The quiet, the absolute beauty of the natural surrounds. Would love to go back there.
What a pleasant experience.
We stayed in Waratah. Very quaint and the view is picturesque. Fishing dams are close enough, walking distance from the little houses. The little houses are very private, which was nice. The fireplace was wonderful. I just recommend an off road car or bakkie since the road is quite bumpy.
We were 5 adults, stayed for the weekend. The cottage is well equipped and clean, my son caught lots of trout, we had lovely walks in nature, we were refreshed after our stay. We are going again for the October flowers.
This is the second time we have been to Cheerio Resort, and once again we enjoyed our time there, it is very peaceful and a wonderful place to stay, It is also well situated, for exploring the Magoebaskloof area.
It was beautiful and peaceful. Didn't understand how to activate alarm, maybe it can be installed there.
Beautiful place with with peaceful nature and a tranquil environment.
Everything was great, from the welcome to the stay. The clean nature is beautiful, your soul can rest. There are also many nice facilities for the children and nice walking and cycling routes that you can follow. And if you wanted to fish, there are also such facilities. We had a great time and rested and will definitely go again!
We really enjoyed our stay at Cheerio, it's a beautiful place and located in a forest covered area. It's definitely a place to relax away from the big city!
We relaxed in the fresh air with a beautiful view over the valley. The Waratah unit was well-equipped and the staff were very helpful. The location is excellent to drive around and explore places.
Our little house, Grandpa's Cottage, was very neat and well equipped. Our porch had a very nice view and barbecue area. The decor is very old-fashioned and dusty in places, but we really enjoyed the peace in nature and the beautiful location.
The Magoebaskloof area is the ideal place to relax with lots to do and to see. The accommodation was affordable and it includes everything you may need. Nice to sit in front of the fireplace when it's cold.
See the stars.
Will recommend to anyone to visit if you want to relax in a quiet place. Very clean.
An excellent place to stay if you want peace and quiet and be able to appreciate the beauty of nature. I was very impressed with self catering Warratah Cottage. We had all the gadgets and it felt like home away from home. I really loved the scenery and my husband has fallen in love with the place, so much so, that he insists that we visit Cheerio Trout Fishing and Holiday resort again. We were extremely happy with our stay and will definitely be back!
The management is friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Ideal place during Azalea Festival. Quiet but close to all attractions and places to eat.
There is space and playground and it's SAFE. I was never afraid to leave them alone.
I enjoyed my short stay, would have liked to stay longer, I recommend this resort.
Friendly welcome. All very helpful.
The chalet is very spacious and comfortable and well furnished with everything you need. The only complaint we have is something that is a problem with most accommodation ─ the wine glasses are so small! Furthermore, the owner was very helpful.
The reception was very friendly. The place is very nice and tidy, and the fireplace was lovely. The beds were nice and warm. We slept well and woke up rested. Thank you very much for the nice stay!
A most beautiful lodge in exquisite surroundings. Very comfortable cottage.
We had a great stay and had a great time. The fireplace worked well and the personal attention of the management was commendable.
The chalet is well equipped and tidy, the service is friendly and the surroundings are very beautiful.
