Would definitely recommend Cheetau Lodge for a peaceful weekend getaway, good friendly service and great experience to get up close and see big cats like lions, tigers and leopards. The breakfast we had was definitely worth it too, nothing too fancy or dry, very tasty, will definitely go back again.

Nothing like roaring lions that wake you in the early morning hours, just outside your window, to make you realize how majestically powerful these creatures are. You move between the cages and their roars echo off the mountain - awesome!

The lion trails were very enjoyable and educational. The beds sleep well. The bath was lovely. The food was to die for and the girl who works there was very friendly and helpful.

The accommodation was excellent and the service good. The only thing I have experienced is when you have looked at and have visited the lions there is not much to do, I am not a person who likes to be indoors and would like to go for a walk or even a bench or two to sit on and admire the nature and the lions. It was everything we dreamed of a short holiday. The lodge is conveniently located near Bethlehem, Clarence and Golden Gate, but quiet enough for a great rest. On top of that, the surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful. The lodge's staff are wonderful and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. We enjoyed the most delicious breakfasts and meals at the restaurant which boasts a beautiful view of the pond and its animals. Cheetau Lodge's animals are in tip-top and excellent condition and one can clearly see that the animals are the owners' priority and pride. They are animal lovers par excellence. Even our traveling cat, Walter, was warmly and kindly received. We will definitely go there again.
Enjoyed the quiet as well as the roaring of lions, we will definitely visit again!
It was half a heart attack to be roared awake at half past three in the morning, only to find yourself surrounded by lions, cheetahs and tigers. It was breathtaking and the room was also very nice. Breakfast was delicious with a large variety to choose from.
Good interaction with lions and tigers, excellent service, beautiful surroundings, very good food, neat and clean. Zandri is an absolute star.
Must say 1 night is far too short. Must stay for at least a full weekend. The fact that the lions are so close makes you feel like you are in nature itself. Must say very neat and pleasant place to be. Would go again anytime. I have already recommended it to friends and they have already booked, that's how great the experience was for us.

Our stay at Cheetau Lodge was an incredible experience. All of us including my 5 year old daughter really enjoyed the nature and the little lion cubs as well as the ducks and divers and turtles around the pond. Didn't realize we were literally living among the lions, sounded like they were roaring in front of us! The staff is very friendly and the restaurant's food was delicious! Recommend this stay to any one.

Only stayed one night. We were at the Bierfees in Clarens and we will definitely sleep over there again.
Cheetau is refreshingly different with the big cats that live right on your doorstep. The accommodation was very spacious especially with 2 small children, but it needs a bit of renovation work. The breakfast was very good and was served as a buffet in the restaurant. The lodge is also a convenient distance from Clarens and Golden Gate for day trips.

It was an incredible experience. Extremely comfortable and tidy accommodation, the restaurant was great, best meals we had the whole holiday. The stay with the lions, tigers and cubs literally around us was unforgettable! Highly recommended, incredibly beautiful scenery!
