The living area and main bedroom have sliding doors leading to a large balcony with patio furniture. A panoramic 180-degree view over the beach and waves can be enjoyed from the balcony as well as a beautiful view from the apartment. One can also hear how the waves break.
There is an entrance on the lower floor from the parking area. There are therefore no stairs from the secure parking area, pool, tennis court and laundry or within the unit itself. At the seaside, it is on the second floor which offers a beautiful sea view. Dolphins and whales are regularly seen from the balcony and from the apartment.
This unit is fully equipped for self-catering. There is a sleeping area for 4 adults in 2 rooms and 1 child on a sleeper couch in the living area. The main bedroom has a sliding door leading to the balcony, a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom also has a queen-size bed. The second bathroom has a bath.
For guests' peace of mind, there are burglar bars on all of the windows and safety gates at the front door and at the sliding doors to the balcony.
There is a swimming pool, tennis court, laundry and braai areas on this secure enclosed private property. A designated shelter parking space is offered.
The flat has a flat-screen TV and decoder with Premium package DStv, which is included in the price, in the living area. Linen is provided, however, guests are required to bring their own towels, toiletries and extra toilet paper. Ceiling fans are available throughout the unit.
Please note that Wi-Fi is not available.
There is a small free-standing braai on the balcony.
Additional cleaning services are available at your own cost and must be arranged with the person handing over the keys.
This complex is located on a first-class plot right next to the sea, just a few meters from the beach and rocks. There is also a beautiful big goose pole. Chesapeake Bay 30 is less than 1 km south of Margate's popular main beach and town centre which offers various restaurants, shopping centres and entertainment facilities. Ramsgate's beach and restaurants are also less than 1 km north of the complex on the way to the Wild Coast. There is a new walking trail along the coast of the complex, past the famous Margate fishing dock to Margate's popular main beach. Stairs lead to other beaches at various places along the route.

26 guests' feedbackThe unit needs modern furniture and renovation in general. It's dated and old and definitely not clean. There needs to be privacy in the main bedroom to separate the toilet /bathroom.
Love the security, fact that the unit is on the parking level, sea view which I wanted. Maybe you can fix the bathtub's hot water faucet and replace the stove.
Everything you need is there, just bring your own towels and hair dryer. DStv is included which made our visit even more impressive. Secure parking as well as burglar bars in front of windows and a sliding door to the porch side, we slept with an open window every night to hear the sea.
The location is very good, view is excellent. Close (driving distance) to most restaurants, shops and attractions. Walking distance from the beach, but the beach is very dirty. Unit has the basic necessities. Kitchen and crockery were not very clean. The unit is in urgent need of maintenance.
We had a very nice stay. No complaints.
Wonderful unit, most beautiful view and fantastic people, clean and tidy. Just 2 things: Master bedroom ceiling fan makes terrible noise. Would like to see the living room and master bedroom have bars in front of sliding doors and windows, so that one can sleep with the doors and windows open. I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to others for sure.
The water problem in Margate a problem and the tank will not be able to supply in high season. Sliding safety doors of unit corroded (detached from panels), difficult to open and close. Plekkie will have more appeal with more modern furniture. Place not clean to standard ─ dirty cups, potato peeler and grater still had food on it. Breadcrumbs on surface where toaster stands. Under beds still full of dust.
Second time staying here during our July holidays. We really enjoyed it and the sea view is always a winner.
The location is perfect with the most beautiful sea view. The unit was nice and clean and nice and spacious as well as safe. We really enjoyed the two weeks and would definitely recommend it.
We enjoyed Chesapeake 30 with the ocean view and private beach out front. The apartment really needs maintenance that justifies the cost, such as: Both bathrooms - toilet paper holders. Fan in living room marked not to be used. Light on porch that is out of order.
We spent two weeks on holiday at Chesapeake Bay 30 during the June / July school holiday. During that time the swimming beaches were closed because of the sardines. Our swimming spot was a small beach right in front of Chesapeake Bay (just across the street). We have seen numerous schools of sardines, dolphins and whales from the balcony. Chesapeake Bay 30 is spacious and practical. During this time of the year, the balcony does not get direct sunlight and can be cooler in the apartment. It is also lovely to have a braai on the balcony while relaxing and watching the ocean. The sound of the waves breaking is very soothing. We enjoyed the stay in Chesapeake Bay 30, which we have already booked again for next year.
We know the complex well. Have been living there for years, but the owners of that unit sold. This one is great because you don't have to climb stairs - apartment entrance on ground by parking spaces and sea side on third floor. Close to main beach and restaurants etc. DStv - only told us to bring our own - so we took our DStv Explora - building not set up for it. Had to rent a normal DStv there at R600 per day and it's not full DStv. Otherwise great.
We rested well. The basket in the bathroom has to be moved, very annoying when you bathe. No grill and the shower has no door.
Die lang naweek was awesome, die ligging is net amazing en die mense is baie vriendelik. Die verblyf was perfek met alles wat nodig is tot jou beskikking. Ek het een voorstel, 'n better braai fasiliteit al is dit gas. Dis die enigste klein negatiewe aspek gewees vir my en my gesin wat baie lief is vir braai. Verder was alles perfek en sal jul verseker weer besoek.
Could do with at least a tumble dryer!
We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend away at Chesapeak 30. The unit has a wonderful ocean view and access to the promenade is convenient. However, the unit is in need of an internal refurbishment - possibly renovating the bathrooms and more comfortable lounge suite would be ideal. Overall, a great place to stay, could be made wonderful with just a bit of an upgrade.
I would like to see cutlery replaced. Faucets at shower do not look good (faucet knobs are loose and fall off). Cars on the premises were broken into twice during our visit. However, it has a beautiful view and is conveniently located. I would recommend it to other visitors if the few minor issues are addressed.

The view is fantastic and the apartment is very well located. The caretaker and managing agent are friendly and helpful. It is very convenient to have access to the beach on the opposite side of the road and you just keep fit with the stairs that have to be climbed. The apartment's furniture can be replaced a bit and if people in other apartment units smoke, it is the extractor fans in the bathrooms that are a bit disturbing. It would also be an asset if there is a dishwasher. The curtains are also too thin which means that the early morning sun is very sharp. Otherwise, we rested very well and enjoyed the sea view tremendously.
From the booking to the last day it was a feast to work with the LekkeSlaap team. Communication with the team is also excellent and friendly helpful service was received all the time. Ten out of ten! Thank you very much LekkeSlaap team.
It's really a place to recommend if you don't like noise - the apartment is very nice and tidy. It is within walking distance of the main beach and lovely to walk along the sea and very safe.
We can highly recommend Chesapeak Bay. It's a beautiful place with beautiful views of the sea. It's walking distance from the shops and beaches, and there is a quiet and private beach opposite the complex.
We really enjoyed our stay, and were extremely happy with the place. It was close to shops and restaurants and made for a pleasant vacation.
Very good location with surf view and easy access to many places.
Just a note: The bathrooms do not have enough ventilation. The "mould" is visible on the ceiling in the bathroom with the shower. The bathroom does have an exhaust fan, but don't think it's big enough to do the job. The second bathroom with the bath exhaust fan does not work at all. The rest of the apartment is very nice. The balcony has a lovely sea view. All that is missing on the balcony is a built-in braai.
Wonderfully centrally located and very well equipped. The view is excellent.
