Was only there for two days, but really enjoyed our time there.
The place is located nice and close to all the attractions, the place is clean, tidy, and more than enough space. What a wonderful visit. Wonderful host!
Wonderful hostess. My fiancé and I enjoyed every moment. It was the perfect getaway for us. The privacy is fantastic. We truly enjoyed every second. It's beautiful and the silence is really the best part of the whole weekend, plus having the pool to ourselves was a bonus.
This is an ideal getaway close to Cape Town and centrally located within walking distance of the town center of Riebeeck-Kasteel. Bill and Mare went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The in-house barbecue area and swimming pool make it suitable for just relaxing and resting at the Chick Shack. We will definitely stay there again and I can recommend the venue with the greatest confidence. Thank you Bill and Mare for a wonderful weekend.

We felt so at home, the braai room, makes you feel as if you were camping out, but still indoors, the room is very cosy in winter.
We travel a lot. In SA and abroad. Chic Shack is just in a different league. Especially our chalet: Love Life. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful, with the springbuck almost in your backyard. We lacked nothing! The chalet is spotless, the bedding perfect and last, but not least, our landlord and lady just awesome! We will definitely go back!

It's very safe and everything works in the building. It's super clean and neat with a very kind host that makes you feel at home immediately. It's centrally located and walking distance from everything. Would definitely recommend this place for a weekend getaway.

Very neat cottage. Enjoyed the braai and you get a basket of wood and the fire is ready to light.
We loved staying at the quaint and charming Chic Shack. The room was clean, cool and comfortable on a very hot day and our hostess was simply amazing! We will certainly return to Chic Shack if we found ourselves in those parts again!
Mare is a very pleasant hostess. There was everything I needed for the one night I stayed there. I will stay there again.
We had such a wonderful stay at Chic Shack. The cottage was so comfortable, with the air conditioning and a pool. We felt so welcomed and so at home. Wonderful bed, great linen, and all the amenities you could want. Just a short walk down the road and you're in the centre of town. Close to all the restaurants and galleries. But yet the rooms are beautifully quiet with a wonderful open field behind them for a pretty outlook. We will definitely be back!
The owner Mare is friendly and always available. To see the Springboks walking past so closely on the premises is a big plus!

Maré was very kind and also allowed us to check in later in the day. The Bliss Room room is spacious and tidy and the room is really value for money.
Lovely stay. Neat and clean. There were some problems with the TV and WiFi, but immediately sorted out when we brought it to their attention. Would definitely recommend and go back again. Very friendly service. Good location within walking distance of most activities.
Very relaxing stay at the lovely pool area.
We happened to pass through while there was some sort of tournament in town. The owner informed us of this upon making our booking and advised that we make a reservation for dinner beforehand. This was thoughtful and appreciated. We were so impressed by everything that was provided in our room. There was even washing powder and pegs. And cutlery and dishes even though its not really a self-catering room. Lovely personal touches everywhere. WiFi didn’t work though, even after they restarted the modem. Unfortunately the owner was not in town and had someone else stand in for her. Everything went smoothly until we were woken at 01:00 by noises in the main house that lasted way too long for us to get any decent sleep. In the morning at around 08:30 we wanted to check out but there was no one around and no reaction to phone calls or the bell. We had to hide the key somewhere and left them a message of where to find it. We were quite annoyed at this stage by everything and doubt that we will return, which is unfortunate because it’s a nice place.
Everything in the apartment shows quality and an artistic hand. The extras such as biscuits, bath products, tissues and handmade cups make it a luxurious experience. The hostess managed to create a cozy and beautiful place as well as to receive us kindly and make us feel welcome.
