We arrived there at 10:00 pm at night to check in and were welcomed very warmly by the owner. We've been given keys, warm heated beds, and amenities like coffee, tea, and rusks for a meal. We stayed very well even though it was just for a short time.

What an incredibly nice place to stay. We were received like family instead of guests by Wilma and Lizzie. We were very early, but the place was ready and Wilma allowed us to enter before the time. We immediately felt very welcome and comfortable. They are two dear and very kind people. The place inside is extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Everything is very neat and in its place. The bathroom is large and comfortable and also very nice with all its facilities. One of the best amenities is that our vehicle was parked right in front of our door and packing and unpacking was a feast. We were well rested for our return trip home early the next morning. The OK Supermarket is just a few streets away and sold the most delicious ready-made food. It was really worth it to be able to spend the night there and we will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Many thanks to Wilma and Lizzie for all your efforts and for making us feel so at home.

The ladies were so wonderful by coming to the room to let me know that the next day it was going to be very cold and what I should do. Also kept me up to date with the load shedding. They already switch the heater in the room on as well as the bed. I can only say that it was a really awesome experience and will definitely stay with them again!

Our smaller booked unit was mistakenly exchanged for a larger one, but this was not a problem for us or the other guests. Suzan was very accommodating. We only arrived late that evening from Pretoria with our two doggies. We were not very impressed with the unit. There was not even a wash basin to wash my doggies' bowls after feeding them. I had to wash them in the bathroom handbasin, which I thought was very unhygienic. However, I had no option. The shower was also very small, and my husband knocked his head on the frame as he climbed into the shower. I cannot, in all honesty, recommend this accommodation to anyone because of the above-mentioned reasons.

Colesberg well located for overnight to Garden Route from Gauteng. Facilities very basic, but neat and clean. Will advise that Chrizaan purchase a TV for her guests. She was very friendly and helpful, but with her husband's death left a void to have all preparations in place early on.

Unfortunately there was no cell phone reception in the unit. It was slightly frustrating.
The beds, 4 carpet races can be upgraded. As guests in many guesthouses/self-catering units, one always comes back to a good bed mattress so that the long hours on the road provide a good night's rest. A mat before the shower is also recommended.

Me and my 2 dogs slept over in Colesberg on the way to Cape Town. Suzan is very hospitable and received us kindly. The room is well equipped, clean and tidy inside. Bakkies, my Jack Russell, had enough play space outside to loosen up after 7 hours in the car. I will definitely recommend Chrizaan to my family and friends who come to visit and want to spend the night in Colesberg.

The unit where we stayed was wonderfully equipped for an overnight stay. There is no TV but for us it was no problem. We had 2 kittens with us and they could also sleep there. Own parking behind secure palisade fence and you park in front of your unit. Very close to N1 and other amenities.

This was the second time I stayed at Chrizaan's place. The first time we were on holiday and this time I traveled alone. I was in the Cape for work. I arrived in Colesberg much later than expected and the owner was willing to wait for me. When I arrived the heater in the room was on and so was the electric blanket on the bed. It was bitterly cold in Colesberg and the warm welcome was fantastic. Chrizaan is the ideal stop if you just want to stop over for the night and travel on again early the next morning.
The room is always beautiful, clean and neat when you arrive and the electrical blanket on the bed was amazing for the cold night. The hostess was very helpful and friendly, and it was, as always, a very nice experience to stay there.
Second time staying here and have to say, I would stay here again and again anytime. My son's hat was left behind and they let me know immediately after cleaning that they had it and are holding it until we come again.
Guesthouse was easy to find which was a plus for me as a single female. For me the wow factor was that the owner made sure the room and the bed were heated.

Very cute and neat place to stay overnight in Colesberg. Had a little trouble finding it, but soon got it right when the owner explained the way to me the old way - drive up to the church, turn right up to the school, turn right into de Jagerstraat and find the eighth house on the right with a green palisade fence. No GPS nonsense (I'm technologically disabled like most people my age!) Had a great time there and would definitely like to stay there again if the opportunity presents itself. The guest house has two outside rooms next to each other that can be rented out together or separately. It's only suitable for overnight stays on the road. Felt safe although owner was very concerned about the vehicle's safety and warned many times that theft in Colesberg is a big problem.

I had a really lovely and warm and peaceful time there: Thursday evening 3 August 2017 (where the nice sleepover woman and her English husband from Houtbay in the room next door showed me their tiny therapy Chihuahua - what a motherly - I really have never had such an old puppy not seen or kissed; too beautiful (the old dearest tiny miniature who travels everywhere, but everywhere, with them), and on the return Saturday evening August 5, 2017, my Rusalka long-haired female ginger kitten was also absolutely more than welcomed by Suzan: so it was of course authentic Colesberg very rusk and biltong special. I should have picked her - the kitten - up from my youngest daughter in Johannesburg. It was pleasant for me to have no TV (with the accompanying remote control and nonsense red and green lights at night), in the room. The mini fridge was also dead silent. Everything that has already been mentioned in the other reviews was nice. The only thing was that I had already locked the room and the sl eutel in the mailbox, when I started my car and saw that the windows were frozen at 7 am Sunday August 6, 2017. If only Suzan could advise motorists to boil water first to pour on the windows maybe. I have an old car and her heater no longer works, so I struggled with the ice on the windows by spraying water and with the rain wipers all the way to the fantastic big Engen garage there on the N1 at Colesberg. Delicious restaurants, changing rooms and coffee that they also have there for the halfway stops between Johannesburg and the Great Cape. Our wide great country. About the TraVaal. About the Gariep. It was very cold that night, but when I arrived the heater and electric blanket was already on in the room and we felt at home immediately. Had a lovely night's rest and my vehicle was in front of the room so didn't wake up every now and then to see if it's still safe. Will stay there again.

This experience was such an awesome one. The hostess checked in to see if we needed anything several times. Her hospitality was above and beyond. Beautiful, super clean and a BIG room and bathroom. Small kitchenette with fridge and things for coffee with rusks. Little things we loved about our stay: fan in the room, fresh milk in the fridge, lots of magazines for those lazy resting times, the softest and thickest towels I have ever used while away from home. I will definitely be back.

We used the unit that sleeps 4 with 2 boys and a baby. We were received very kindly. Parked in front of the unit behind a gate with our "Venter". The guest house is close to the main road and we set off comfortably at 05:00 after a good night's rest. At reception, we also got information about places to eat in the area. The booking was also very easy through LekkeSlaap who got back quickly with the availability. Will not look for accommodation on Colesberg again next time, but will book directly with Chrizaan.

We found the guesthouse easily and Suzaan was very friendly and helpful. Both rooms were clean and tidy. We all slept well on good mattresses (Cloud 9) and knowing that our car is behind a locked gate. We arrived there on Saturday around 5 o'clock in the afternoon and were very kindly received by the hostess who explained everything about the guest house to us. We were quite exhausted after the trip and already in the cage early in the evening. We slept very well in the peaceful atmosphere. Upon arrival, the hostess treated us very friendly and helpful. The guest house is very neat and I recommend it to anyone who needs a place to sleep. My wife and I used it for the first time to stay overnight while traveling between Cape Town and Gauteng and again during our return journey and we were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely use it again.

A rest for you if you travel with animals! Friendly, clean, large, fenced space for dogs to run, outdoor faucet for water bowls. Plenty of space inside for everyone to sleep. Big bathroom, spacious and everything a guy needs. Even biscuits!

The premises are advertised as pet friendly. Yes, but not for bigger dogs (Staffy / Bulterier) like our dog children. Otherwise it was good.

The guest house did not meet our expectations according to the photos and reviews on the web page. The rumble of the trucks is disturbing during the night. A hanging closet in the room to hang your clothes in would be better than the hooks mounted on the wall. The plastic chairs in the room also do not give the impression of a professional guest house. The number of the house is unclear and is difficult to see in the dark if you arrive late. Better lighting at the number is recommended.
The single beds were just not comfortable and creak terribly. I suggest replacing it.

I stayed overnight on my way from Cape Town to Johannesburg. There are basic cooking facilities that are enough for a quick dinner and breakfast. All that is needed in the bathroom and bedroom is there, neat and clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this place to any single or couple for an overnight stay. I booked late from the road through LekkeSlaap. Everything was settled quickly even though it was about 17:30 on the Friday afternoon.

Both times I stayed there the service was very professional, and Susan went out of her way to accommodate us. She even made room for us in her freezer to store a whole sheep in there. Even when her husband fell seriously ill overnight and she had to rush him to the hospital in the middle of the night, she was there the next morning to look after her guests.
Our reception was generous and the hospitality amazing. Amenities were absolutely what we needed and our room was sparkling clean. The bathroom boasts pure white towels and the beds sleep wonderfully!!! We felt so good about this accommodation that we have already referred some of our friends there. They stopped at Suzaan and Christo's right after us and slept there. Excellent accommodation at a very reasonable price...
Found cooking and wash-up facilities at this guest house lacking. Colberg lacks good restaurants, so rather cook for yourself if possible. Chrizaan Guest House is well situated, quiet, and peaceful.

The rooms are comfortable and very neat and well furnished. However, we did not have hot water early (4am) to shower. Since it is winter, after a cold shower I left shivering from the cold at 6:00. Didn't want to bother the owners so early. The rooms are not private.
