The house is very spacious and airy with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge area, and large well eqiped bedrooms. Load shedding is covered with backup lights, a gas hob, and a kettle for use on the hob. The oven is not gas but you can cook a whole meal on the hob with ease. The lighting outside is motion sensor activated so no need to worry about switches. The swimming pool is crystal clear and the view over the dam is the cherry on top. The deck areas are equipped with tables, chairs, loungers etc.. When you walk into the house your first impression is wow - this is nice!

The apartment has a view of the Clanwilliam dam. It is peaceful and clean. Neil the owner full of information and helpful. It's located in a security complex, but only 5 minutes from all the shops. The apartment was clean with lovely durable bedding for a peaceful and comfortable night's rest.
Enjoyed the location and the flat had a great view and was well located. The flat itself was well equipped but could probably do with an air conditioner and better ventilation (fresh air flow). A hairdryer would be a great addition as well. It was well equipped for load shedding, which was a great surprise. The outdoor recliners shown in the picture by the pool were not there, which was a slight disappointment. There were also no extra dustbin bags and extra toilet paper, which for a 3-night stay would be appreciated.

Our stay at the flat was great value for money. Everything we needed was there. The flat itself is in close proximity to the mall. It was safe and quiet and quite tranquil. Our flat was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
We also got a very friendly reception. This is truly a "little gem" in Clanwilliam with an incredible view of nature and pond. The apartment was really beautiful and we immediately felt at home. One night's stay was definitely too little!

Facilities were excellent and beautiful. Atmosphere also calm and inspiring. Especially enjoyed DStv facilities. We just wanted more ice trays in the fridge, but borrowed from neighbours. We couldn't go and buy ice because arrived too late.
Breaks are good to get away from people, all that bothered me was that the house was very close to the flat, so we had to share the swimming facilities but that's not a problem. Will definitely go back again.

We were kindly received by Denise and Neil and had a nice stay for two nights in the comfortable and well-equipped little apartment with a nice view of the dam. There is covered parking which, being within a security complex, is safe. All that was a bit troublesome was that the sink in the bathroom is very small. There are a number of stairs to the apartment on the lower level, which can be difficult for a mobility-impaired person. The only hitch was on our return Saturday afternoon after a drive to the Warehouse Pass: there was no gate guard present, and none of the three numbers listed on the gate to call in the absence of a gate guard worked not. Fortunately, there was also a car that wanted to drive out, and they then went looking for someone who apparently had a "remote" to open the gate.

We had a very nice stay. The house is well equipped and it's very nice to sit quietly and look out over the pond. I was a bit sorry not to be able to use the bath, which is shown in the photos. For parents with small children, there are quite a few steps outside the house and the pool is open. Just keep that in mind.

Clanwilliam Hills House and Flat was well located and close enough to the town, as well as to take interesting day trips e.g. to see rock paintings and see a bit of the Cedar Mountains.
Very unfortunate. Had no privacy. The people who rented the house above the apartment were in the pool all day overlooking the entrance of the apartment so there was no privacy for us inside or outside the apartment. Couldn't use the pool facilities either, because the tenants of the house occupied the pool all day. They sat in the pool all day eating and drinking. So, unfortunately, I cannot recommend the place to anyone to find peace and quiet for your soul.

Awesome house with great facilities. However too many personal items on display and "Do not use or touch" items. Cupboards locked behind chains. No aircon remote. No hose pipe to fill the pool. No chemicals in the pool. Host abrupt and rude when on premise, whilst sorting out power issues.

One could become still and become one with nature and our Creator. However, I would advise them to review their route directions to the venue in question. The directions sent to us were confusing and we were only able to reach our destination after much difficulty thanks to google. Thanks again.

As a recommendation, I would like to mention that the internet route directions took us through the informal settlement type area to the gate, it would be better to provide clear directions and GPS coordinates to eliminate unnecessary driving and a safer route let follow.

We stayed in apartment. WiFi is one of the amenities. However, there is no WiFi. When I asked the owner for the code my message was ignored. The stairs to the apartment are quite steep, so it can be a challenge with luggage. The glass shelf by the toilet is in the way. It would be nice to have an ice tray with ice in the freezer.
Except for the 30 minute pep talk about how people ruin the accommodation who come there for the night, we had a great experience. We didn't use all the rooms of the house and clean up behind us because we felt uncomfortable leaving behind dirty dishes and unmade beds and using areas that would put an unnecessary cleaning burden on the owners. The braai/patio area has stunning views that are worth the money. I feel that the photos of the bathtub should not be included on the listing because there is a poster in the bathroom that says you are not allowed to use the bathtub. Very nice and comfortably furnished house that makes you feel like you are at home. The photos of the owners and their children may be removed. Feel a little weird. The place was well sanitized and thoroughly cleaned. Covered parking. Pet-friendly if arranged. It's a shame that the beautiful place borders the informal settlement, but there is electric fencing and a security guard on site. Neighbor's sheep dog came in and growled at our Yorkie.

The bathroom offers no privacy and is extremely small. The shower water leaks onto the floor due to the raised shower floor. We had to shower either in ice cold or scalding hot water and even after I reported it the hostess let me know there was nothing wrong it was apparently due to the cold weather. When it rains, the stairs to the apartment are slippery. The road to the unit is in poor condition and pitch dark in the evening.
We had an amazing night stop with a beautiful sunset view over the dam. The accommodation was very clean and spacious. Enjoyed sipping on a glass of wine with my feet in the pool watching the sunset. Neil and Denise were friendly and very informative about the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at this place, our stay was just a little too short. It was so relaxing, with the most beautiful view of the dam. On the day we arrived, it was 32 degrees and the kids enjoyed themselves in the pool. The house is beautifully decorated and Denise did everything to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. She even sent me a message on the day that we left to wish us a safe journey. I would recommend that they remove some of the items in the house since not everyone would always respect and appreciate it. Also a guest bathroom would help a great deal since all the bathrooms are en-suites. But overall we had an amazing time and will definitely recommend this place.
Everything was in order when we got there. Elderly and injured people will struggle to climb up and down the stairs up to the place of residence. Large built persons will struggle in the narrow bathroom. For the 2 of us, everything was perfect.

Loved the place, the hospitality of Denise and the view was absolutely spectacular. Would've loved to have a bedside lamp though, but apart from that I recommend.

This property is being advertised with the following amenities: Free Wi-Fi, air conditioned rooms, access to all amenities that house has to offer. This is what's true after our stay this weekend 7 to 9 Feb 2020: No Wi-Fi, old fans in bedrooms, aircon unit so small it only covers the TV room space. Guest not allowed to use bath that is available in room because of the water shortage, really? My sister in law could only check in after 3 and not 2 as said on the website. On Saturday after having a load shedding episode which we prepared for the electricity of the house did not come back on. So naturally we called on the owner for assistance, who blamed the municipality but undertook to phone them to investigate. After an hour we the guests decided to phone the after hours number of the municipality, only to find out that nobody called them for assistance. These guys came to the house around ten and then needed excess to the DB board. We tried to get hold of the owners with no luck, eventually the guys had to leave, after no response from the owners. Now the next morning we were left with still no electricity, no hot water and still no word from the owners. I cannot begin to describe my disgust for the lack of service and support and the fact that we were left to our demise. Such blatant disrespect for your guests you should not put your property on websites, if this is how you treat paying customers. We bought beautiful cuts of meat from the local butcher money wasted cause it was ruined. On Monday morning, the 10 February 2020, the owners replied and said that their electrician found nothing wrong. The units were finished. After load shedding, I personally checked on the unit box and there were still 35 units on. For paying a weekend and you have such services not good. Update the rules of the house. Certainly we are not in such a water crisis that you are not allowed by the municipality to bath. Will I recommend people to this house after this horrific experience, certainly not.
The view was something special. The place is quiet and beautiful. Very neat and very beautiful and enjoyed every moment of it. It had my mother in tears. Thanks for that.
Every possible little detail was provided, all my expectations were exceeded. Because it is so incredibly hot there, blankets would be appreciated. Duvets are too warm.

Denise and her husband are really friendly and welcomed us. Denise gave us a lot of information about the possible activities and places to eat, and more general information about SA (interesting for us foreigners!). We enjoyed the view from the room and terrace, it's a perfect setting to use the braai.

The accommodation is equipped with everything you may need. It's clean and very neat. Only the fact that there is no separate bathroom/toilet for the third bedroom does make it a little uncomfortable. But I will still recommend the house and I will definitely use this accommodation again in the future.

It was fantastic to wake up to the view of the dam. We will definitely visit again.
The lovely house had a really nice view over the dam and the wine and lemon fields. It's close to the Main Street of Clanwilliam. There are tea houses, a Spar, a butchery and ATMs. It's in a safe, gated community.

The problem is the tenants of residential houses who disregard the rules. E.g. extra guests until midnight and the noise starts again at 5:00 in the morning. Access control must be strictly applied if the owner is not on site.

The sliding doors across the whole front of the flatlet makes it feel spacious, despite a tiny bathroom area. Enjoyed the view of the dam (even with minimum water), glorious sunsets, and a calm and countrified feel with supply shops/restaurants close by (if necessary). A worthwhile get-away place. Clean, sufficient and economical.

I would just like to say that I had once again a really nice stay at Clanwilliam Hills House with Flat. Neat and clean and equipped with al the necessary things. Then added to staying comfortable you have a beautiful view. This is why We yet again chose to stay there. It feels like a break away even if you are there to work.

We were kindly received by the gate guard - he also explained exactly how to get to the accommodation. Arriving at the accommodation, we realized we were sharing it with other people in an apartment upstairs. They were already down by the pool right in front of our door. Music also loud and hanging out. The later, the louder they were and the more swearing there was. On the surface, everything was neat. There were no instructions for how to use stove/oven. There was a bag of dirt and an empty 2 l bottle lying on one shelf. Also wasn't sure if towels in bathroom were clean, as one was neatly folded and others were just hanging like that. In the drawer next to the bed we also found, after further investigation, a pair of underpants and socks. We then wondered if the bedding was clean. Friend agreed to sleep on cot - but was charged exactly the same amount. It would have been okay if the place didn't have all the above problems. Plekkie has a beautiful view and lovely shower. Great overnight stop on the way to Namibia.
Our stay was a pleasure with everything in place in the house. This is a beautiful residence with a wonderful view of the pond. We were just a little caught off guard when we spotted a scorpion in the bedroom where my daughter was sleeping.
The house is comfortable and tidy with nice facilities, outdoor barbecue and so on. The house feels cluttered with all the ornaments and decor that have been put up. Unfortunately, on the last night we found a scorpion in one bedroom which we then had to kill, a bit stressful. Also very nice stay.

What a privilege to be so warmly welcomed. Owners are wonderful people who immediately make you feel comfortable and are happy to answer any questions that will make your holiday/visit even better. The flat is clean, tidy and open with a beautiful view of the dam. It was a really nice overnight stay and would visit them again anytime.

Excellent, peaceful, luxurious accommodation with an incredible view of the Clanwilliam Dam. A bird watcher's paradise. The house is beautiful with lots of space and beautiful furniture. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The only recommendation is shower doors. Not so nice to shower without a door in the winter. Very cold and the floor and rug gets wet. Beautiful area and great braai facilities.

I was almost stung by a scorpion in the master bedroom.
We only stayed 1 night. Everything was tidy and the house is big, met all our needs. Nice pool for cooling off. Beautiful view of the dam. Well appointed.

Very friendly reception. Unit provides basic needs but the bathroom is not up to standard. No shower curtain and no decent hand wash basin (basin) in bathroom. Half walls separate the bathroom from the rest of the unit and the toilet is too close to the kitchen.
The location is lovely and the apartment is neat and clean. But the kitchen and bathroom have issues. It has been furnished with spares, including a too large large armchair and 10 seater dining table pushed against the wall on the stoep! But there is absolutely no working surface in the kitchen. There are lots of pots, including unusual things like a pie dish and microwave egg cooker. But for cutlery, a mismatched selection of 2 forks, 2 spoons, 3 knives and one steak knife. The bathroom is a hatch job. Not even 1 m wide. It's very difficult to get to the toilet around the basin, and almost impossible to brush your teeth. The biggest issue is that there are only sliding doors, which have been put on back to front! We struggled for ages to lock them from outside, and when we did manage it we found out that we had jammed that door because the inside lock had locked itself. We were advised that it could be opened with a screw driver, and having borrowed one we found that it took all of 10 seconds. So much for security! Your possessions are not secure when you are away and you are not safe when you are sleeping.
Once again the accommodation exceeded our expectations. Everything we needed and more. Beautiful place.
The owners are very pleasant people. So friendly and loving. My son made himself at home and could not stop talking about the nice weekend. The apartment is very neat and clean and everything that you need is there. Will definitely go to Hills House again.

We had a great stay at Clanwilliam Hills House with Flat. It is perfect for 4 people. For example a family with older children or two couples. The owners, Neil and Denise, received us very hospitably. Parts of the house are still under construction. For example shower and bath. Very well equipped with anything you need. Sometimes unsure whether certain items may be used in the house, clearly the owners also like to stay there. We were very comfortable and really enjoyed the beautiful view over the dam. It is inside a security complex.

The drive to Clanwilliam was great from Vredenburg, the view from the balcony was tremendous and tranquil even with the dam being so empty. However, we felt like we were "intruders" in someone's home if that makes any sense! The home is decorated beautifully however our bedding felt that they quickly needed to go and get a "sheet" which did not fit properly and the utensils in the house were not really clean had to wash any glass we used, mug, pots, cutlery etc, however the house did not lack anything at all.
