Absolutely not at all. Check-in time is 14h00 to 19h00, I was called at 16h10 to hear if we will still arrive "because she has almost given away our place to stay". On our arrival at 18h30 (lots of roadworks and traffic) we were placed in Anke but booked and paid for June. There were already other guests booked in. Said it's an upgrade that actually costs double, but we can get it for the same price. The kitchen and living room were upstairs and rooms and bathroom downstairs. We had to keep going up and down stairs inside the accommodation. The pillowcases were pathetic, homemade from black polyester material. I took mine off because it's too slippery and hot to sleep on. The pillows were very uncomfortable, mushy and stained. The blanket was homemade (you can see the welded seams) and very thin. In the early hours of the morning it was cool, but only after a great search was the duvet found in the closet. It was mentioned to us that we should not come in late as it was actually already late (18h35). We traveled from the Northern Cape and just wanted to take a quick shower before going to eat. We left the shower and went to eat so as not to come in too late.
I'm sorry to say, but I won't go there again (for various reasons). The WiFi and a number of other things are barely there to get the number of amenities up, but it doesn't mean it's any good. The WiFi, for instance, is there, but there are so many connection issues that there might as well be no WiFi. An electric blanket was provided, but it did not work. Air sanitizers were there, although they were completely empty. The counter on which the air sanitizer is placed had a layer of dust on it. The tiles are super slippery, hence I did not want to use the shower - too scared I would slip. Everything is squeezed together, there is no room for anything. You get three coat hangers on two hooks behind the front door, no cupboard or anything like that. The DSTV power adaptor is also in front of the TV (with no way of moving it out of the way), partially blocking the picture.
We had a very nice stay. The unit offered us the space we needed and with it another view of the mountains too.

We stayed at Clarens Eddies for 2 nights just before the Jimny Gathering. We were within walking distance of the town square, the shops and restaurants. We return to Eddie's often. We enjoy staying there and Dawn is a gracious host. Eddie's is equipped with their own generator and water, so even when there were outages in the town, our stay was unaffected. Always our first choice when visiting Clarens.
Eddies accommodation was lovely. Dawn went out of her way to assist where load shedding disrupted water and electricity supply. She had lots of suggestions regarding hikes and attractions. She's a gem.

The stay was fantastic. Clarens is an amazing destination. The accommodation was fine for the price which we paid (speaking exclusively about the Ann and Ada suites, which are identical). Just a few recommendations for guests. Bring your own pillow(s) as the provided pillows are a bit hard. Also, the mattresses are very firm but you can't exactly bring your own bed. There is no proper cupboard space, so it was easier to live out of our bags. If you are there for a few days, it isn't a problem, but keep that in mind for longer stays. Just a small piece, there is a shelf in the bathroom over the toilet which is the perfect height to hit your head on if you're about 6 foot, which I did about 6 times over 4 days. Overall though, the stay was fantastic and would definitely come back again. The manager/owner was very accommodating and made my wife and me feel very welcome.

They advertise a generator but do not use it. A faucet broke when I turned the faucet and we had to pay for the faucet. It's funny if you turn the faucet that it breaks. I personally will not support them again.

Apartment is very conveniently located. Spacious sitting and dining room and lovely balcony overlooking the Swartberge for a beautiful sunrise and coffee. Had a great stay. Dawn is very hospitable and helpful.
I booked to stay in the Santa unit, we were put in the June unit, because the Santa unit is too big for only two people. Was too tired at that stage to argue. The units had spectacular views and were close to the village /shops etc. We were surprised at the black nylon pillowcases, but the unit was clean and there was secure parking.

When we arrived, the owner was waiting up for us. She made sure we were happy with the accommodation and that we comfortable. We were able to walk into town for dinner and stroll back afterwards. The host was amazing. The room was clean and lovely. Some people on the balcony even had a braai. Big generator in the garden so I think this load-shedding issue is not an issue at Clarens Eddies. Will surely go back again when we are in the area again.

This was an amazing stay! Dawn was so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about everything Clarens. She showed my mom and I to our neat, clean, cosy and well furnished room. It was so cute, it was even kitted with a little vintage table and chair set to have breakfast/coffee at. Our room was secure and situated next to the pretty little garden that also has a sitting area, perfect for a sundowner. The accommodation is perfectly located in the main street, just a few minutes walk from the central square that has all the restaurants, boutiques and art galleries, but also far enough not to be disturbed by the hustle and bustle of holiday goers (heaven on earth). Dawn gives guided hikes in the mornings, unfortunately we couldn't go because it was raining (we'll join next time). I requested a tour of the premises, which she did with enthusiasm and she showed me the most beautiful view of the mountains from one of the upstairs balconies as well as gave some great suggestions about which restaurants to visit. There is secure parking, the premises and location is safe. This was the perfect overnight stay. I will definitely recommend Clarens Eddie's, it was total value for money and a completely relaxing stay. We'll definitely be back again!

The June unit is a compact, yet comfortable, well-equipped and tidy place to stay that is located close to all Clarens' attractions. The unit is particularly suitable for two adults (and two children). There is secure parking for one car per unit and nice views from the small balcony. Service is friendly and efficient.

Eddies offers so much more than you expect! We were delightfully spoiled with a welcome bottle of sherry against the cold and a beautifully clean unit. The beds were beautifully made and we slept well with the bonus of electric blankets. The kitchen is fully equipped with all kinds of little extras that make it extremely convenient. The showers were lovely! Not all guest houses have showers that close their doors properly, or the hot water actually on the hot water faucet side, and Eddie's worked perfectly. Dawn was a wonderful hostess with her sharp sense of humor, and we left feeling like family.

Initial booking was for Ann. We were a bit worried because according to their booking form there is no room for suitcases in the room. We were then upgraded to Santa. Santa has a kitchen nook, but the stairs may be a problem for some. Since there are plenty of places to eat, we didn't cook ourselves.
My reception was unfriendly and Eddies expects email correspondence, even though I'm traveling. The location is conveniently close to the shops.
