This very private rustic brick cottage has a thatched roof and an open-plan layout. The cottage can accommodate 2 guests comfortably and contains a queen-size bed. The full bathroom contains a bath, a shower, and a toilet.
The kitchenette features an electric mini-stove and oven as well as a two-plate gas hob, a kettle, a toaster, a microwave, a fridge, and a chest freezer. Kitchen utensils, braai utensils, cutlery and crockery, pots, pans, and glasses are provided. Starter tea, coffee, milk, sugar, and rusks are also supplied. The lounge area is furnished with a comfortable two-seater sofa and a table with 2 chairs. Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available to guests.
Outside, there is a patio with braai facilities and patio furniture. Secure, private parking under a big shade tree for 2 vehicles is provided.

84 guests' feedbackWe had a lovely weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. It was great for the dogs to have an enclosed yard to be able to sniff and do their business without having to be on lead. The walking trails nearby are great. The location of the cottage is also really good, close enough to the centre of town but not so close that you had to negotiate the weekend traffic and crowds of people. I will definitely recommend this place and will stay here again next time we are in Clarens.
We had a lovely time in Clarens. Lovely places to eat and quaint little shops to visit. Our accommodation was comfortable. The host was wonderful.

Upon our arrival, Marlene received us like old friends. Her friendly hospitality immediately made us feel at ease. The cottage is very neat and clean and is comfortably furnished with everything needed for self-catering. The bed is very comfortable. Marlene puts out seed for the birds in the cottage's garden and we used the opportunity to sharpen our photography. The cottage has a beautiful view from the porch. We had a nice stay and slept warm.

My stay was lovely, the unit is well equipped to allow for self-catering and is comfortable. I had to work in the mornings, and the Wi-Fi is good enough to allow uninterrupted meetings. The host went out of her way to make sure that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed, and I found her very accommodating. I will definitely be back in the future when I come to Clarens again.

Our host was extremely friendly and helpful. The cottage was well-equipped and the stoep with a built-in braai was exactly what we required, overlooking the mountains. Pity we could only stay for 2 nights. Will indeed be visiting this facility again.

From the moment I stopped at the front gate of Lakeview Cottage, I fell in love with it. Marlene is the most amazing hostess, very friendly and totally awesome. I spent the 6 blissful days in the cottage and loved every moment of it. Its beautiful nature, close to town and the cottage was well equipped with everything I needed. I will definitely be back very soon!
The facilities at the accommodation are excellent, as is the location, which is very close to all the various shops and restaurants. Marlene is a helpful hostess who has furnished the accommodation very well with everything needed for the traveller. I would confidently recommend the place with a beautiful view of the water. Don't overlook this pleasant and colorful cottage.

It is the perfect place to relax, heal and connect with yourself. Spent the time with my daughter who is a teacher and I'm a nurse so the pace is good and the personal touches made it special. Highly recommended.

It's nice and quiet and private. Perfect for couples, with a beautiful scenic view like few others. We are both tall people so we would have liked a longer bed, but for a short time it was a hundred. I would still recommend to anyone. I think it's the best guest house. Wish I could stay there longer.

We spent a super weekend at Lakeview Cottage. Everything was just perfect. We enjoyed the view and the peaceful atmosphere. Marlene's attention to detail and all the little extras in the cottage meant we wanted for nothing. We returned home feeling renewed. We will return.

Clarens Lakeview Cottage has everything you need to stay overnight. It is clean, neat and tastefully decorated. The view is breathtaking and it is wonderful to sit on the patio and enjoy the scenery.

The star picks above already say it all. We were kindly received and the cottage was already ready at 12:00 and we could go in immediately. All the equipment was in working order. Would like to have a TV because the afternoons and evenings until bedtime are long.

Marlene was the perfect hostess - there when you need her, but never intruding on her guest/guests' privacy. The accommodation is tastefully furnished with everything needed in the compact kitchenette, as well as the bedroom/sitting/dining room (bachelor setup). It is ideal for single accommodation as well as couples who visit the area with the aim of exploring it and do not want to spend all day in the unit. The Cottage is within walking distance of all the restaurants and shops, meaning that guests can park their car and comfortably explore the town on foot without worrying about finding parking in the town, especially on busy school holidays and weekends. Marlene mentioned that the Cottage is a "work in progress" as there are still certain changes and improvements she wants to make, but in my opinion the Cottage is already excellent value for money.

Although it's a lovely view, the place is too small for 2 people. The cupboard space is also not enough. The parking is uncomfortable. No security lights outside when returning at night.

Accommodation was very small, too small for two people. We were also concerned about the safety of our car. It was once very cold where a TV (for a film) would be handy. Very expensive for a small space.
