39 guests' feedbackThank you for the lovely stay. The place has beautiful views and comfortably accommodated the whole family. It’s been an idyllic family getaway! Just a couple of notes: Accessing the parking from the road was a bit challenging because our cars aren’t high enough. It might be helpful to mention this to future guests. The hot water (and water in general) seemed to cut off at night. Other than that, it was the perfect stay and the host was really great at communicating.
We were 10 people, celebrating my husband's 50th, and this house catered for our every need. With just a few steps to town, and a beautiful view of the back of Clarens from the patio. We enjoyed every piece of this house. The rooms are well appointed (each with an en-suite) — something that is hard to find. The kitchen is large and has everything you need. The house is naturally warm but also has a wonderful fireplace. We loved staying here. Marlene was a wonderful host — thank you so much!
Very neat, well-equipped house. Ideal for weekend with friends. Gas stove, self charging light bulbs and battery lights for load shedding. Marlene is very helpful and good communication all the time. Would recommend to anyone. The view from the porch is stunning.
Clarens manor, fited perfectly fo rthe purpose of having a group of people stay for a weekend and have space to sit and conclude a planning meeting for the organization. The feedback regarding some issues with Escom power supply, were communicated timeously and we were kept up to date as to what to expect. Clarens Manor is walking distance from the square, where everything revolves around.
I would recommend Clarens Manor for people coming as a group of people, facilities are very good.
10 out of 10! Everything you need and more. We had such a nice stay and lacked nothing - within walking distance of everything. Teenagers could walk around alone.

One bathroom has 'black mould' and it would be nice if the gate could open with remote control.

Everything previous reviews have complimented about Manor House is true. We had a great time there. The standard length steel beds were a problem for the men because the steel frame at the foot end made sleeping difficult.

For our group of 10 people, it was a comfortable and spacious guest house with more than enough facilities. We were kindly welcomed and felt very much at home. Would happily recommend this home.
We had such a good time. The house is perfectly located, we never drove. The porch is so spacious with a perfect view. Everything was clean and tidy. And there is everything and more that one could need! We will definitely want to visit here again!

Clarens Manor needs a serious good clean all over and maintenance is needed urgently!
The stay at Clarens Manor was beyond expectations. If you know that there is room for 10 people, your first thought is usually neglected. That was not the case at Clarens Manor at all. It feels like people are permanently staying there with all the equipment and amenities. And cleaning services are a nice luxury and worth every penny. My parents were able to sleep in a beautiful room with their own amenities while our children could take the stairs. The view is beautiful and we had a wonderful time at the kitchen table and in the dining room. The rugby result was of course a bonus on the historic weekend and we could see it on the TV.
It was a celebration to be able to spend the weekend in such a lovely place. The decor is tasteful and practical. We eight ladies had enough hot water for bath and shower every morning. The cozy patio has the most beautiful view of the landscape. The house is central enough to walk everywhere and after a lot of shopping and visiting every day the beds slept like a dream. We would definitely go back anytime, without hesitation.
The location, the house, the setup and the ambience it created made for a very special murder mystery weekend away with awesome friends. There was lots of laughter, mystery and intrigue on who did it. Apart from the hot water running out quickly, the overall experience was not that bad.
The house is well located and well laid out. Everything is within walking distance. Never used a vehicle. The stoep was the winner. What a view, get up early and see the sun rise over the mountain.

A 5 star home away from home, beautifully furnished. I loved the fact they provide just little things that self accommodation places rarely do. Milk was provided, serving platters, wood for the fire. It was a pleasure to prepare food as the kitchen had everything. The mountain view from the covered patio and the upstairs bedrooms is breathtaking. We regretted booking for the 2 nights, one needs to enjoy Clarens Manor for a lot longer. We will definitely come back.

We had the best time in Clarens. The accommodation was everything we needed. The cleaners could spend a little more time cleaning the showers and under the cupboards/beds, the cleaning is a bit rushed and 'it shows'. The views are perfect, walking distance to everything and anything we needed. For 10 people you might want to invest in a bigger fridge or a separate drinks fridge, the space was just a bit tight and we used 'coolboxes' (when it comes to drinks). Had a great time, will be back again.
Maintenance not up to standard, place has a lot of potential,. Cleaners not very effective at guest toilet, very cleaned in 3 days and kitchen floor not washed.
Beautiful spacious house. Even with 10 people, it was not crowded at all. So close to square, didn't have to drive anywhere.
It was my husband's 60th birthday and the entire family congregated in Clarens. Clarens Manor is exactly like the pics on LekkieSlaap - excellent accommodation. The hous eis ideal for a large group of people and very well equipped for enterntaining. The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated and clean. Even though we were a large group the house is designed in such a way the we never felt in one another's way. Also ideal location - walking distance from CBD. Thanks so much to Marlene and Clarens Manor for a weekend we will never forget.
Only problem we had was that the electricity went off and we couldn't find the DB board (in a cupboard behind blankets). Also very noisy pipes from the bathrooms on the one side of the house- although it was a bonus for each room to have its own bathroom! We definitely would return.

It is a very practical house for a family. Each room has its own bath facilities and this means that there is enough room to move. Very well located. Walking distance from town. Everyone can come and go as they please without packing the car each time. Will definitely rent the house again for our family's annual getaway weekend. Thank you very much. Clarens Manor did not disappoint. The areas are spacious, rooms are big enough, the view is fantastic from the nice big veranda. You don't need to bring anything - just food. You can also watch the rugby with the full DStv. The only problem is that you can't barbecue when it's raining. The porch has wooden floors and the Weber just spills coals.
