The house can accommodate 8 guests and comprises 4 bedrooms and 3 en-suite bathrooms. However, bedrooms are made available according to the number of guests. If you want access to all 4 bedrooms you need to pay for at least 4 persons.
The largest bedroom is located on the upper level and comprises a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner tub, a shower, a hand basin, and a toilet. This bedroom also has tea- and coffee-making facilities and a private balcony with 180-degree mountain views. The second bedroom is located on the middle level and has its own lockable entry passage from the interior of the house, in addition to an outside door and landing. This room comprises a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a hand basin and a toilet.
The third bedroom is located on the middle level and comprises a queen bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower, basin, and toilet. The fourth bedroom is the smaller bedroom and is located on the lower level. This room has one single bed and has to share one of the other bathrooms for showering but can make use of the guest toilet with a hand basin.
The kitchen is fully equipped and the lounge and dining area are open-plan with a dining table, couches, a smart TV, and a large wood-burning fireplace. Free unlimited Wi-Fi access is available. Large double doors open onto a spacious roofed verandah with unobstructed views.
Entrance to the house is through the double garage which opens by remote control and there is a burglar alarm also operated by a remote. This alarm has eyes inside the house and can therefore only be turned on when there is nobody in the house. The rest of the garden is fenced or walled.

Very nice house with everything you need. Very good location and walking distance from the town square. Very safe and well fenced if dogs and children come along. Will use the accommodation again.
The good - the place is huge and very well equipped, even herbs and spices are available in the kitchen. The view is stunning, and the garden is small but well enclosed for my dog. It's also very dog friendly, with doggy bowls and towels provided by the garage, and no rules that dogs aren't allowed on furniture. The bad - the place is advertised as a 4-bedroom house, but 3 of the bedrooms were locked on arrival, so we did not have access to a 4-bedroom house. We had to ask for a 2nd bedroom to be opened as we were 2 non-sharing adults. There was a pile of garden refuse in the garden, cracked tiles, and no hot/cold water signs on the bath taps. The blanket in the main bedroom was very worn. On the first morning, I was woken around 8 am by the gardener. The main bedroom is very close to the road, and there are lots of noisy passersby.
Very nice place for a visit. The house is fully equipped with everything needed. We spent a lot of time on the veranda with its wonderful view. The fireplace was lovely in the cooler evenings. It was a very busy weekend so it was nice to be able to walk from the house to all the shops and restaurants.
It's a very neat place with literally everything one could need. Perfectly located and everything is clean and tidy. Can definitely recommend it!

The house with its inviting atmosphere has already started with a message "the house is ready for you" long before the check-in time. Thanks for that. Everything in and around the house is tasteful with character. The first aid kit of the house is the first time we experience it. The emergency supplies, water and alternative power were provided from the top shelves, even for those musical acts. Will definitely use the house again.
We as a family of seven can recommend Mount Rose anytime for a large family. The rooms with en suite were comfortable even for our parents who are already well into their 80s. The entire residential unit lives outside with a beautiful view and garden. Mount Rose is also excellently equipped for self-catering. Thank you Gerhard and Santi for a lovely stay.
The house is located within walking distance of the shops and the "Square". The house is fantastically equipped with everything one needs. The house is also big enough so that you don't feel cramped. The outside living area is wonderful and one does not feel threatened with unemployed characters. I would highly recommend this home to people who want that extra. The fine detail that Santie has put in there is wonderful. Thank you very much for all your effort. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Spacious rooms. Lovely big kitchen.
First time trying Mount Rose as our Clarens accommodation. We were particularly impressed and ticked all the boxes: lovely big house, everything painstakingly tidy, fine detail and finishing everywhere, Smart TV, well equipped kitchen, nice bedrooms and bathrooms, very spacious upper level master bedroom with even its own coffee and tea station And then add: dog friendly - and almost right in the center of town which is two blocks away, but you don't feel in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The peaceful view from the lovely patio to Mount Horeb and the Malutis completes the picture. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our stay at the Clarens Mount Rose Holiday House. I would definitely visit again, and take friends. Would love to go in the summer and enjoy some more scenic hiking routes when the environment would be a bit greener and less dusty. A small suggestion to improve would simply be a small shelf (floating shelf or hanging on over tap) in the upstairs shower seeing as there is no place to put down your toiletries inside the shower such as razor. It is not particularly safe to put that on the shower floor.

Nice place for a weekend, the location of the house is very good
It was clear that no investment is made in the business. The mattress was old, sagging and had a wire right around it. There are too many ornaments in the way. The linen was washed out, faded, skimpy and limp. There were only 3 towels for 2 people: 1 bath towel, 1 smaller towel and 1 hand towel. They were discoloured and very thin and skimpy. The exterior is beautiful but the interior is very shabby with unmatched pieces of furniture.
The tranquility of self. Can just sit and relax. Location fantastic.
