A five minute drive just outside of Vanrhynsdorp, very cute cottage with all the amenities including a pool to cool off. I ordered the braai pack (wood, meat, salad, braai-broodjie) - absolutely delicious lamb chops and value for money.

Already from the beginning of August, Juanita has been sending information about the flowers and restaurants nearby to everyone who comes to visit. We got information to drive to Gifberg, while there were no flowers, and also a dirt road that was not too good for our little car. The place is well furnished and we slept well.

It felt like we arrived there unexpectedly even though it was only around 4 o'clock in the afternoon. They did make an effort to replace the geyser's element and everything was sorted when we checked in later that evening.

Joanita is an exceptional hostess! She put us on a WhatsApp group where she shared all the flower news and places to eat. It made your visit point planning so much easier. After we left she removed us from it. Because it is a working sheep farm, it creates a much calmer atmosphere. A returning place for sure.

The owners have created a real loop court outside Vanrhynsdorp. They offer excellent comfort and a respite for a weary traveller. And the price is good!

Unfortunately, they could not help with the cold weather that spoiled the flower viewing. Furthermore, they took care of everything!

It is always a pleasure to go back to a beautiful Karoo setting, especially the sundowner at the pool looking over the Maskam Mountains. Everything was comfortable in the Cottage. It's so nice to get the your destination and the owner has even stacked the braai wood ready.

This accommodation is ideally suited for travellers who want to visit Nieuwoudtville, Gifberg and the Knersvlakte to see the flowers in spring and autumn. The pool is well maintained and welcome at the end of a day of botanising. As the sun sets, you look over the rim of the pool, as the veld turns golden and watch the black headed heron and yellow mongoose hunting for prey. The Palm cottage was well equipped, comfortable and clean.

Clear Water Oasis is like an oasis in the desert. Our reception was very friendly and the rooms are comfortable and clean. It is a little out of town on a farm which makes for a quiet and relaxing overnight stay.

We enjoyed staying on a farm and experiencing the tranquility. It is so well located near the main road and the town. An ideal stopover.
So thankful we discovered the gem close to Gifberg. The location was perfect for our purpose of looking at flowers and realizing that in a 150km radius the variety is ideal. The accommodation is very originally decorated and painfully neat. Enough space and cupboards in the room not to mention the bathroom, space and tidy. Hostess and gentleman were very nice and received us kindly and served us with advice on routes to ride, which we really appreciated. Check out the sunset, stars and moonrise! Restourant was then due to Covid-19 and we were not aware of WiFi, but did not need it. We have very good memories and would like to go home there again, because we feel even on the drive, we didn't stay long enough.
The owners are incredibly friendly people who make travelers feel at home without being overly intrusive. The room with en suite bathroom is spacious and there is also a barbecue area outside where you can relax. Everything was very clean and in its place when we arrived. Will definitely stay there again - very affordable rates.

Everything one needs. Close to the N7 as well as on the route to the Karoo. Good base camp for flower viewing or driving dirt road mountain passes. There are several of these around.
I enjoyed this very clean and comfortable place very much, despite a regional blackout. Owner was very accommodating and friendly, and gave me a discount for the lack of electricity. Would definitely recommend to a friend travelling in that region of SA.

We spent the night here on our way to Langebaan, from Upington. The accommodation was spacious, clean and equipped with everything we could need. There was an incredibly large bathroom in our room with a very nice bath and shower. The farm was very beautiful and it immediately gives you that on-vacation feeling. A large lawn and braai area was in front of our unit. We felt very safe here, arriving at the electronic gate that prevents just anyone from entering as well as a camera that we could see in front of our unit. All I would suggest was missing in our room was a full length mirror, but that's personal preference and at least I could see my reflection in the large glass door! Hospitality was top notch and we were kindly welcomed.

The owners of the farm are very hospitable and very helpful. We got wood for free both days. It's not very far from town, and it's so quiet without traffic and noise. We were able to walk to the sheep together and learned a lot from sheep farming. Overall it was really nice and will stay there again. The cottages are also very nice and big.

The bin inside the room is a bit small for soft drink cans, leftover barbecue etc. to put in The mattress in the unit we slept in is soft and hollow in the middle and should be replaced. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The unit was very clean and tidy, and there is a beautiful sparkling pool and Jacuzzi and lots of bird life. Our only disappointment was that the restaurant wasn't open despite the place being fully booked - but maybe next time! It would also help to have signage giving you direction once you enter Vanrhynsdorp, as Google Maps took us in the opposite direction. But it really is a great place and we will be back.

Accommodation is available in a variety of rooms, whether for business, pleasure or leisure, and camping is also available. There are 2 overnight rooms, that are equipped with a bar fridge, microwave, tea- and coffee-making facilities and a TV with selected DStv channels.
There are also 3 self-catering units which have a kitchenette equipped with a stove, fridge-freezer and braai area on the stoep. All rooms/units are equipped with air-con, microwaves and TV with selected DStv channels. There are 4 camping spaces, each one with its own braai area, water- and electricity point. Camping is divided with wood-divider walls for privacy and the bathrooms are shared.
All rooms are serviced daily, except Sundays and public holidays. A laundry service is available Monday to Friday, at an additional fee. Business facilities such as Wi-Fi access, scanning and email services are available on request. All guests can make use of the swimming pool, no under 18 without parental supervision.
