What a wonderful experience in this beautiful place. Winter has its own charm. Host and hostess made us feel so at home and welcome. Excellent fully equipped and very affordable. Would definitely stay there again.
The first question asked - would I stay at Clifton Farm House again and the answer is an absolute yes. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything needed, spices, good quality coffee, cutlery etc. The tranquility and the farm atmosphere. Very good place to break away to recharge batteries.
It was lovely to relax in such a peaceful and beautiful setting, and the fireplace was a winner.
Clifton Farm House is excellent accommodation. It is very clean, tidy and there is everything you need. There is a nice view of the farm and mountain. I can recommend this place to anyone.
What an amazing stay! From the friendliness and kindness of the host through to waking up to that typical farm stay in nature. The accommodation was tidy and without fault, and has all the basics you could require for a few days' stay. From waking up in the morning to the sounds of cows and sheep grazing right next to the unit, to having a relaxing afternoon braai watching the sun set behind the sandstone mountains.
It was an experience and I really enjoyed it. It was lovely with the fresh air and mountains around us and silence.

We escaped the chaos of the city and headed down to Clarens for a few days. We were so impressed with Clifton Plaas Huis. The location, accommodation and surroundings were second to none. The chalet itself was incredibly well equipped and private with incredible views over the mountains. The host Marcel was very welcoming and friendly and encouraged us to walk freely around their farm, which was a real privilege. The house is a short drive to Clarens, meaning you have the best of both worlds. Highly recommend!
Absolutely beautiful surroundings. It is close enough to Clarens to enjoy the village, but it also has a lovely countryside feel. There are lovely walks on the farm with a beautiful little river to play in. The accommodation is nestled in between gorgeous mountains, offering real value for money.

Our family would be happy to recommend the Clifton Farm House. It is very neat, clean and comfortable. Marcel received us very kindly and made us feel at home.
Very close to Clarens and Golden Gate, we could make day trips during our week-long stay. Very spacious and well equipped, with washing machine and dishwasher. We could go for long walks on the farm and enjoy relaxing on the stoep. It is the perfect retreat, with peace and quiet but close enough to Clarens for shopping. Beautiful area with amazing views. The host, Marcel, is friendly and hospitable. Will definitely return.

The house is well furnished with enough space to relax indoors. Garage with an internal door convenient, especially in rain.
Just outside Clarence (5 km) is this great plaas house. Independent from the main buildings, very well furnished and with great views. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. Heaven!
It was absolutely like a piece of heaven on earth. The tranquility was heavenly. We were able to go for a wonderful walk and climb. Very close to Clarens. House is fully equipped and extremely comfortable. The animal neighbors added to the atmosphere.

We had a very peaceful, beautiful place to stay at the Clifton Farm House. Perhaps our time was too short in the beautiful surroundings. It is very safe and we had everything we needed. The signal is just a little weak but you are on a farm and maybe that's what is needed with today's hectic life to just switch off a little. We had plenty of warm bedding, as well as lovely heaters that worked very quickly. Not to mention the fireplace that is there along with wood that Clifton provided. There is also a washing machine should one need it for a longer stay, as well as a dishwasher which is also beneficial. Thank you very much for a nice clean place to stay which was fantastic.
