It was delicious. Beautiful village and the accommodation was wonderfully comfortable, spacious and clean. Beautiful view of the mountains. Clean fresh towels and bed linen. Comfortable mattress and pillows. No load shedding in Clarens! We ate fruit from the tree: peaches, apples, plums, quinces. Would definitely recommend.
We were so relaxed. It was an awesome family home as we could take our dog with us, who enjoyed walking in the large garden. Everything was there for our use and the place was nice and clean.

The stay was pleasant, but a few things bothered. The roof leaked when it rained. We also brought meat to grill for the 2 nights. It rained both nights and we had to cook meat inside. There were only 2 small pans available and a small 2 plate stove. If 6 people can stay in the unit, it will not be enough. The braai area's chimney is open at the top, so the rain comes in and kills the fire. We had an umbrella for barbecuing in the rain, but the fire just went out through the rain.
Staying at Cloud Shadow Cottages is always fun. It is clean, the beds are comfortable and have electric blankets, the shower is hot and has good water pressure, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. We have stayed here quite a few times and it is always our first choice when we go to Clarens. The hostess is friendly and helpful, and the garden is always well maintained. The stoeps both have a beautiful view of the mountains, and the cottages are close enough to the town center to be able to walk if one chooses.
We were two families booking both units. It was lovely to hang out together and still enjoy privacy. The nice big garden is refreshing because you don't feel caged in. The unit is well equipped and comfortably furnished.
This is our 2nd time at Cloud Shadow and we are taking our 3 dogs with us. It's a great place to just relax.

Thank you very much for neat facilities with everything needed. Small problem with microwave, but came to replace immediately. Couldn't find any fault with this stay. Also beautiful surroundings and view. Value for money.

Thanks for making it feel like home. It was nice to be able to spend the time there. We can honestly say that the place is well furnished with everything you need, the electric blankets on the beds are definitely a plus, especially when it's cold.

I was only disappointed in the shower and bath, with a "home made fix" that didn't work very well. Second, the master bedroom's double bed is not comfortable at all. Guess he's seen better days.
We were a family of 4 and 2 grandparents and there was enough space. Nothing was fancy but everything worked. We walked to town a few times and used the guest house as a base to travel wider in the Clarens area. The rooms are small but were sufficient. The kitchen and lounge areas were a good size and allowed family interaction spaces. The owner kept us up to date with electricity and water issues in the area; there is a water tank on the property too. The oven was very dirty.
We really enjoyed our stay and the view is very beautiful. The bed warmers worked great for those cold nights.

Perfect cottage for our first Clarens getaway with our baby (and grandma and grandpa). The view was breathtaking and I would return for the view alone. A bit further from the town center than we prefer, but that's my own fault for not looking out for it.

The unit is well located, close enough to the town center to walk and far enough away from any noise. The view over the Maluti mountains is beautiful while the garden is neatly maintained and spacious. There is good undercover parking for two vehicles. Inside, the unit is painfully neat and clean and very well maintained. The sitting/dining room is spacious with plenty of comfortable seating with beautiful views of the mountains. There is also a fireplace for cold evenings and plenty of reading material. The kitchen is well equipped and everything is clean and tidy. The bathroom is practical and the shower has good pressure and sufficient hot water. There is also a separate second toilet. Both bedrooms are very comfortable. The beds are of good quality and very comfortable. The linen is clean and cozy. This is truly a unit we would recommend and use again.
Thank you for the lovely, comfortable accommodation. The views are breathtaking. Two unexpected observations. 1. The rooms smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. 2. No lock was provided for the outside gate and there are also no burglar bars on the windows or additional security for the glass sliding door. Otherwise, we had a very lovely stay, thank you.

We love to book at Cloud Shadow because there is no better view of the mountains than from these units. They are always clean, comfy and it's like being at home away from home.

My husband and I pulled our car under the carport and only pulled out again when we packed. We walked everywhere - all shops and walking routes nice and close and convenient. We also had our two lap dogs with us and they really enjoyed this walking weekend. Lizette and aunt Anna are very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and tidy and we will definitely stay here again.
Really enjoyed the time away from the city noise and didn't want to return to my destination in Gauteng at all. Will come again anytime and recommend to my family and friends if they decide on a weekend getaway.
We were three friends who wanted to experience Clarens for two evenings. This house (A) has the most beautiful view of the mountains. We had a great barbecue the first night and hung out on the stoep. The location is fantastic and we walked everywhere. The car was only used again when we packed to go home. Wonderful location a very cozy and warm home. The kids loved the space outside to play. Amazing view to wake up to. Well located, close enough to the town centre, yet at the same time, away from all the hussel and bussel to get a well needed rest.
I can definitely recommend Cloud Shadow. Neat and clean and well appointed. The location is excellent. I would recommend canceling the limited DStv and investing in WiFi instead.

The house is relatively small, but it doesn't bother so much, everything is there that one needs, and the main plus point is the view on the front porch. It is the last house that can see over the trees in the valley and so one has an incredible view. The house was very clean, and the bed we slept on was very firm. There is no WiFi, but I guess you don't stay there to stare at a screen. This is the ideal place if you want to stay there with a few friends, are out on adventure most of the day and come to barbecue there in the evening.

We were a group of 2 married couples and 2 other adults sharing the 'kids room'. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything needed for self-catering and there is a nice braai area on the stoep outside. The house was very clean and comfortable with plenty of warm blankets and electric blankets. No TV or internet, but there is a monitor and a wide selection of DVDs to watch. We could easily walk to the central shops and restaurants. Vehicles park outside but the area was very safe and the town is really clean.

Now it was totally worth it. Anna this is really one of the better places my wife and I have stayed in. The moment we opened the door we felt at home, you could tell it was a wonderful person's place. It was neat everything was just in place, I have already recommended the place to people from Port Elizabeth and my daughter they are also going there soon. The view is breathtaking when you look out of the living room or master bedroom windows and seeing the sunset is just great. It was really worth it, next time I will just arrive earlier so that I can meet the house owner (Anna I should actually say Aunt Anna). Then of course the bottle of apricot jam, it is also top shelf. All I can say Aunt Anna, you have a beautiful place there.
This is a great place for a family of 4 or if you and your wife want to break away and just want a quiet time together. It is walking distance from the shops.

Cloud Shadow Cottage A has everything one needs for a weekend getaway. The cottage is neat and comfortable and handles a family of 5 (3 teenagers) with ease. The view is wonderful and you also get a bottle of homemade jam as a welcome gift.

We had a lovely stay in Coud Shadow Cottages. Aunt Anna and her daughter made us feel very welcome with a homemade jam they brought us upon our arrival. It was very cold the few days we were in Clarens, and this cottage is perfectly equipped for the cold. The fireplace, electric blankets, carpets and extra warm blankets everywhere made the trip wonderfully cozy! The view from the porch and from the master bedroom is beautiful, we enjoyed it immensely. And the fact that we were warmly welcomed made it very convenient for us. Thank you very much for a lovely house!

Better heating could be supplied as Clarens is known to be cold in winter and is one of the main attractions are the mountains and possibility of snow.
Nice stay, very quiet and private. Enough hot water and nice and spacious accommodation, rooms and all the rooms are spacious. Fully equipped, had no shortage of anything. The beds and linen are superb - enjoy the pure white linen and warm blankets for the time of year!
