Coastal Haven is a beautiful recently refurbished double-storey house situated right on the sea front in Misty Cliffs, Cape Town. Misty Cliffs is a conservation village very near Scarborough and Kommetjie, and is only 45 minutes from the V&A Waterfront and 15 minutes to a large shopping centre in Noordhoek.
Coastal Haven is a spacious and comfortable home with loads of natural light and fabulous views of the ocean just meters from the property. This sea front home is on the doorstep of the beach and the beautiful clear blue Atlantic Ocean. There are rocks and rock pools to explore and scramble over and within walking distance is a surfer’s dream of the perfect wave.
The house can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and a large, modern open-plan kitchen living area and dining room. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. This room opens to its own small balcony with a table and chairs. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed and a shower en suite, also with access to a sea-facing balcony. The third bedroom contains two single beds and a bathroom/shower en suite. The fourth bedroom contains two single beds and has use of a separate bathroom with shower and a bath. It has magnificent coastal views and opens out to a spectacular ocean-facing deck.
The kitchen is modern and well-equipped for self-catering and includes a stove and double oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a breakfast bar with stools. The lounge contains comfy couches, a TV room area with a flat-screen TV. The lounge opens to the dining area which contains an 8-seater dining table. The living and dining area open to a patio and swimming pool area with outdoor dining furniture overlooking the ocean, which is just meters away. The veranda includes a large, built-in wood burning braai.
The driveway is steep and can only accommodate maximum 3 cars.

An incredible location with unbeatable views and within walking distance from a private beach. We were worried about the driveway from the other reviews, but it is a doddle if you follow the host's instructions. The property is listed with 'pets by arrangement', but note that it is not exactly 'pet friendly' and you will be asked to pay an extra deposit if they do allow you to bring your pets.
Loved it, especially to have the ocean next to the house and no road in between! Beautiful views, just what we needed!
My wife and I took the children and their loved ones away to celebrate my birthday. We have been aware of this house for a long time and were in no way disappointed. The location is perfect, almost on the rocks. The waves are almost deafening and make the location just as incredible. The view and location meant that none of the children even considered turning on the television! We were kindly received by James who wanted to ensure our stay as well as possible. We all decided that despite making a long weekend of it, one weekend just wasn't long enough and we would have to come back. I can recommend this house with the utmost confidence.
Our need was unobstructed and pristine sea view. Coastal Haven is even more than that. The sea was so close and the noise continuous. We planned for a cold, wet weekend, precisely to experience the sea like this. The dust inside the house made the visits nice and cozy while the stormy sea raged outside. Coastal Haven just needs to invest in an indoor grill. That Webber means nothing in the wind. South Africans love barbecue.
We had a very peaceful weekend with all the amenities that we required and more. The little ones really enjoyed playing around in the rock pools and the older ones enjoyed Netflix and the WiFi connectivity. The only irritation for me was the daunting driveway which could pose a problem for not-so-experienced drivers. I would definitely recommend Coastal Haven to my friends and acquaintances.
The house is right by the sea with an incredible view. You couldn't ask for a better location. The house offers everything you need. I would suggest that a braai be built or a larger braai be an option, because a Weber is not quite sufficient for 8 people.
Given the rating for the house and what is paid, one would have expected more additional benefits in the house. Less worn-out kitchen equipment and utensils. Some are in dire need of replacement. Early warning that there is a coffee machine, but that you would need to supply your own coffee would have been appreciated. There is lots of security - including security gates to bedrooms and internal and external alarms making one concerned about safety and then the exterior alarms went off thrice during the early morning hours. But great location and otherwise peaceful.
