We had a very nice stay. Only thing is the children who play tok-tokkie until the evening. Sometimes disturbing. Will sleep there again.
Very neat and comfortable spacious rooms, can see bathroom and floors have recently been redone very neatly. Great place to relax on the veranda by the pool. Vehicles safe and staff extremely helpful. Thank you.
Very easy and friendly staff, had 1 night there on our way to Knysna, perfect dinner and nice clean rooms.
Stayed overnight at Colesberg Lodge. Had fun at the pool and enjoyed dinner. Everything one needs. Had a good night's rest. Wonderful breakfast next morning before we ventured on the long road again. Thank you very much for everything, will definitely visit again in the future.
Sufficient accommodation and good food, after a day's travel. Good overnight option between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Room was basically equipped, but neat and clean. Bed very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The pool, barbecue, and atmosphere were all wonderful, like an extension of the summer vacation. Good hospitality from the young people there, and I soon got help with a toilet that was stuck somewhere. Only noisy in the evening due to passing trucks (I assume that's the source).
It is a nice place to sleep, just needs a few touch-ups.
Accommodation was good, would have liked it if breakfast was included.
Upon arrival we were greeted with friendly faces from porters. The swimming area and restaurant are great and we had a great time sitting and chatting until after dinner. We will definitely stay at the lodge again.
The lodge is clean and tidy, but because it is located on the main road, the heavy vehicles were a bit of a problem, as it is the only route through the town. Meals are not served and had to provide for themselves on the recommendation of the owner. She was helpful with where we could buy food.
Sleep well, room not enough fresh air and noise in the main road, church bell going off every hour is annoying.
Beds comfortable. Rooms clean. Surrounds very noisy all night.
We had a very nice meal at the lodge and their service is out of the books. We slept well and the rooms were neat and clean. There was secure parking for our car. Would definitely stay there again anytime.
Rooms were nice big and tidy. Bathrooms clean and tidy. Bath towels are good. Bedding clean and comfortable. TV was nice and WiFi good. Bar was friendly and good service with the big screen was bonus. Thank you very much it was nice.
Good, reasonable overnight accommodation. Friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly service and a really nice place.
Was so comfortable and everything in their place.
Very friendly staff, very clean and tidy. Delicious food and an oasis by the pool.
Everything was fine. Found the accomodation quite expensive for what we received, but understand that it was a last minute booking during peak season. Property was described as pet friendly. We had two large dogs with us (arranged up front) and whilst our dogs are very well behaved, it was challenging as there was no grass for them (other than some grass around the pool by the restuarant - which obviously we did not want our dogs to relieve themselvs there inbetween patrons who are eating and drinking).
At least there is off street parking.
Wonderful overnight stay. Can rest well after a long day on the road.
Convenient place for a stopover.
We arrived in Colesberg during loadshedding. Everything was dark and it was difficult to find the premises.
At peak time where everyone returns and all places were full, it's a good place to call home.
The road was long and we were tired. The lodge looks more like an old hostel than a lodge. If it wasn't for the staff that work there, I don't know how they could still run a business. The place deserves a good renovation because there is potential.
Lounge area/bar at lodge is by bedroom windows. Guests have noise until 3 am. We couldn't sleep. Management did not act.
Goeie bestuur. Vriendelike personeel. Warm atmosfeer.
Workers very helpful, even though the power was off I really enjoyed it there. The boy who carries the bags to the rooms Vinnie is a brilliant child with a lot of talent. Office ladies very friendly. The waiters are pleasant and quick with their orders.
We had a great time at Colesberg Lodge. Parking is a bit far from the rooms.
No vegetarian food available.
Very comfortable and relaxed feeling.
Very nice and tidy place. Perfect for overnight stays.
Very friendly and helpful. Rooms very neat. Dinner and breakfast were pleasant.
Colesberg Lodge was neat and clean. Not so impressed with their food offering but understandable considering where the place is situated.
Centrally located, secure parking and close to other places to eat.
We were there at 15:00 and had a great time by the pool and eating. Absolute positive experience - right up to that well. Room 25 - no place in master bedroom to hang clothes - brackets behind the door? The guests do not whisper late at night and/or early in the morning - this should be actively encouraged. Despite the 9pm curfew, the noise of traffic from the main street was deafening. One literally cannot sleep/rest well. The breakfast was poorly served (three tables with guests) with no spoons or glasses on the tables. We still had to ask for things. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful - apart from the lady in the dining room having trouble understanding and/or keeping up. The safe parking is a big plus.
Overnight to Cape Town, well rested for the next ride. Thank you.
Very neat and clean. Could do with a small fridge. Otherwise, the room has all our needs. Thanks also to the staff and Freddy for keeping my laptop that I forgot there safe.
It was a comfortable stay after a long journey.
The location is in the town centre. Boer goats fill the streets. The parking is very safe. Lovely pool and dinner was very nice.
This was for me the biggest turn off.
Service was very good and the food very tasty.
See stars.
The room and lodge were surprisingly clean and tidy.
See stars.
Service not as desired. Had to ask for toilet paper, soap, coffee and milk was not in room. In pub also not all types of drinks, had to be satisfied with what is there.
Accommodation and friendly service.
The noise that was coming out of the machine/generator outside my room made it difficult for us to sleep.
On a sweltering day there was air conditioning in the room and a pool to cool off in. The dinner was top notch. All right after a long journey.
The size of the rooms surprised us! Management can only pay attention to the basic needs of travelers, eg. a wardrobe, chair, bin in the room, soap holder in the shower.
Room was very clean and tidy. Customer service friendly and helpful. Secure parking available.
Children really enjoyed the pool and we were able to enjoy dinner next to the pool while the children frolicked. Only suggestion is that you purchase filter coffee for guests who prefer it.
See stars.
Friendly, helpful staff who is willing to go the extra mile.
For people who need a nice sleepover.
Water was cold when we arrived. We hoped it would heat up during the night. Was icy cold to take shower. Not a nice experience.
Upon our arrival the bad experience had already started. First I am greeted by a man in blue overalls who, I don't know if he is the welcoming party or a porter, but his first order to me is to turn my vehicle around because that's the camp's rules. After telling the corporal in his "overalls" the third time I would turn my car around after I "checked in" and dropped off, my family and I were escorted through the back alley of the building. The corporal leads us to an emotionless receptionist and I am ordered to give her R30 for parking, as if I now have to pay a special levy on top of the R1,250 I have already paid to park my car to be allowed to park on their special spread out soil and pebble surface in the backyard. I must add that it must be a special kind of ground you are parking on, because not even Sandton City's covered parking is that expensive. I then told the bundle of joy that I would like to see the room before I now further entrust her with money for the exclusive facility they offer us. Up the stairs hoping that the room will impress us, and as fast as we are up, as fast we are out. There were three cleaners, four mops, a streak of foam on the floor and the smell of the morgue's floor polish in the air. (At least I believe the rooms are clean). Because with such a formidable team of cleaners under the tutelage of the town's corporal, I believe the standard of the SANDF is applied to proud South African standards. We got out of there and I went to catch my breath at a cute restaurant just around the corner from the town's church. I then call a man who claims to be the owner of the exclusive Colesberg Lodge and I tell him about my unique experience and that I will not be staying there overnight. After some time on the phone and an unhappy owner, I told the businessman that he could just keep his money as he wasn't really interested in what I had to say. (Or maybe it's because he missed out on the R30 rand parking fee which I never paid then?).
