35 guests' feedbackWe stayed over for one night as we had an evening function in Hopefield and didn't want to drive the 40 minutes back home at night. What a little "old world charm" gem. The owners have kept the hotel in its original form in terms of furnishing and the public areas, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The king size bed was extremely comfortable, the tea and coffee tray well stocked, and the toiletries high quality. Safe off-street parking was provided. We enjoyed a wonderful sleep in a quiet room overlooking a tropical garden. It was very convenient to walk to and from our function. We will definitely stay again.

Parts of the hotel are well-loved, others less so. It seems to be an upgrade in progress. Sound travels easily and we could hear every word from the courtyard area as well as from the guests in the passage and other rooms nearby. Our room was clean and met our requirements and the staff was friendly; but the hotel in general and the reception area lacked ambience.
The S/C room 8 was clean and comfortable and recently renovated. Large new shower but the floor of the shower is extremely slippery. My husband slipped and hit his head really hard. He's OK but it could have been much worse. The door to the outside is also very warped and difficult to open and close. Some maintenance would be in order? Also maybe a handrail and non-slip mat in the shower?
A beautifully restored small-town hotel run by Jacques and his helpful team. We really enjoyed our room with a well-considered kitchenette and special touches. The swimming pool and garden were an extra treat. We will be back soon. Thank you!
We enjoyed the live band, nice music, not too loud and finished very early, so no disturbance in our sleep.
The hotel is typical of a small town. It has a charm of days gone by. Very peaceful and friendly atmosphere. Clean room with nice touches and a very comfortable bed.
We've stayed here before and just made a future booking again. One always knows what to expect - friendly hospitality, a clean room and central location. Meals are on offer if one wants to eat in, whilst many establishments do not offer meals. Guests are spoiled with hospitality, Simply Bee soaps and shampoos too.

The little touches that show great care and consideration like the small jars of fresh wild fynbos in the room and the local soaps and lotion products that were complimentary. We loved our stay.

Walking distance to all shops. Very clean and tidy.
It is an old building but the place to stay was neat and clean. Unfortunately, there are no full-floor carpets, which makes the place a bit cold in the winter. My car had to be parked in an open space with access to the street.
Hotel is in the center of town. So location is good. Driver's attitude is particularly poor. We booked 5 rooms. When the last people checked in they were forced to pay for another room. We tried to sort it out with the website and hotel, but the manager was not available. Next morning I first had to explain why it looked like an extra room had been slept in, just blew it. If they need that extra money, they should keep it. In general, customer service is a bit lacking. The food was good but everything takes time.
Will definitely visit again. Gem of a place.
Had a wonderful stay at the Commercial Hotel Hopefield. Lovely little town. The owner is a friendly lovely young man. We will be back for a longer visit next time.
Nice stay in countryside. The hotel is very clean and the manager is very helpful. He have done a lot of upgrades.
The Commercial Hotel is very centrally located in Hopefield. There is a large grocery store right next door for anything you may need. The unit we stayed in is spacious and tidy.
Could improve by making WiFi and TV available.
