Very nice stay. Very well equipped.
We arrived on Saturday and drove on Sunday morning, the house has everything you need. We slept well.
The house exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully furnished, very well equipped and is very beautiful. The host was very helpful and friendly. One can easily stay longer than one night and we would love to go back to Compass View.
The house is beautiful and every room is perfectly furnished. The kitchen has everything you need and Pierre was lovely. He met us at the house, communicated well with us all the time and kept us informed about the load shedding schedule. The garden is spacious and our dogs had fun playing and running around. We will definitely stay at Compass View again.
We would have loved better braai facilities outside, but I believe this is all in the pipeline and WiFi was truly missed.

It has everything one needs for visiting, barbecuing and sleeping. Pierre made our trip very easy with his communication and information he provided. We have everything we needed. The rooms are spacious and windows and doors open wide for extra space.
Received very kindly by Pierre and had a nice chat with him. Loved the old fashioned atmosphere while the modern amenities were there too.

Compass View really surprised us. It's a wonderful place. From the moment you stop in front of the house, everything is neat and tidy. The rooms are beautiful and the kitchen has everything you need. The back porch is obviously the winner. We recommend anyone to drop off at Pierre's place to explore New Bethesda and the surrounding area.
Just slept over. Pleasantly surprised and will check in again for a few days to better explore surroundings. Cottage has everything needed.
Everything was perfect, clean white bed linen, milk in the fridge, small details. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Would recommend just 2 more chairs on the nice front porch, so 4 people can sit outside.
Dorpie is very friendly, good food and relaxed and the accommodation is very central.

The welcome was very pleasant. The house had many nice extras, just a little soap, were welcome details. It had everything and more for a 2 night stay.
Wish we had stayed for more than one night. Definite value for money. Two large bedrooms with large, comfy beds, each with its own large bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a large lounge. Loved the rustic interior and my dogs were also welcome. What a lovely experience we had sitting on the large stoep and watching the horses graze on the other side of the road. But what really stood out was the consideration of our host, Pierre, sparing no expense to ensure our comfort. He anticipates every need one may have and then provides for it - from chips and chocolates on arrival, to Dove soap and Organics shampoo, hair straightener and dryer, firewood, matches, milk, you name it! His consideration and friendliness stood out and really made us feel welcome.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Compass View and Nieu-Bethesda. Especial thanks to Pierre for being so helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely heavenly. We had such a good time. Everything was adequate and every little extra was appreciated. Our host Pierre was great! We would really recommend the place, it's a complete unit (house on its own) and it makes you feel like you really live in New Bethesda. It's modern and yet old-world in the same breath. There is more than you need in the unit and the sun greets you every morning with a smile.

Rustic cottage which was clean and well-equipped. Pierre was very friendly and got us settled in. Lovely porch to sit and have a drink out front, back garden and braai area not great though but this was not serious as the kitchen is equipped and it was fun to try the local restaurants.
Lovely cottage! Has everything you need, is warm and cosy and super central. There is no TV which is actually exactly what you need for a getaway. Kids had a ball running around the garden. Also a big thanks to our wonderful and very conscientious host, Pierre.

Compass View is incredibly well appointed. Also very neat and clean. I had such a nice stay there. The fire place is fantastic! The location is perfect - close to the nicest restaurants.
Very well equipped. I would only recommend a cordless kettle. I burned myself at the cauldron, but it was my fault. Didn't know it was a cord kettle. The owners have put a lot of effort into the house.

Our first visit to New Bethesda. Absolutely touched by the place and its inhabitants. Lunch on location at Auntie Evelyn's soup kitchen added to the charm. Meeting Koos Malgas' grandson was also a highlight. The cottage is a lovely surprise and warm blankets on our beds a necessity for the cold night.
We very much enjoyed our stay of four days and three nights (we were 4 adults and a toddler). The home has been beautifully renovated. It has has everything you need (including a working fireplace!) and the location was perfect for our needs - right across the Village Inn Tea Garden and walking distance from pretty much everything. Do note that there is no bath - only showers - as incorrectly indicated somewhere (we ended up bathing our little guy in a plastic tub). We never got a SMS/Whatsapp with the lock box's code, but showed up when the cleaning lady was there, so all was well. So maybe just make sure you make contact with Vicky or Belinda beforehand for this code, or you won't be able to get in.
